You are correct - Tchaikovsky IS a genius… his music is timeless. When he came to America in 1891 - after inaugurating (and conducting in) Carnegie Hall - he later stayed in Taos, New Mexico; his hosts took him out to the pueblo one night to experience the Indians dancing. My take is: that's when he looked up and really saw the stars… and he made his peace with death. He died two years later… but his music is timeless.

Very emotional personal history. I used to listen to Tchaikovksy while reading 19th century Russian classics (Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Nikolay Chernyshevsky, Gogol, Pushkin, Lermontov etc. The golden era of world literature maybe. At the same time I was dreaming about Siberia, Volga, Taiga, Urals, Petersburg, Moscow l a lot. ❤❤

I remember my trip to Mexico, this was the only song I listened to..
Each time I hear out I go, Mexico.
I have good memories there and this song is just so good like I just can’t describe it like, you know just that type of music that if heard on a trip will give you emotional memories for some reason and it’s just good and so fun to remember everything you did in the trip just from one song and I will never regret this because it just makes me feel happy and relieved.
