I love the Eufy eco system potential but without a stand alone video doorbell and a high end door lock without video, I cannot get into it. We already have two S230 Eufy smart locks which have been great BUT, since one is in full Florida sun a good bit of the day I have had to make a cardboard cover to protect the lock as the sun is damaging the screen / front of the device.
has there been any updates to the E330 to include advanced notifications and/or alerts as well as confirmation of extending the built-in chime to other areas via GVA
I wouldn't want to use these on my outdoor doors, but I see a use indoors to create a barrier between hallway and garage. Can they be timed, locked when no-ones home and at night?
A lot of factors would play into it: outdoor temperature, motion events, usage. But the lock will go into low power mode if it gets too low (this disables the camera and motion events, only the lock works).
I have the solo cam s340 and the T8530 door lock bell cam and they both constantly miss events. The door records to the doorbell chime SD card and the outdoor cam records to the Homebase 3. I have checked all settings / firmware updates and still cant figure out why they miss events. Anyone with these issues?
Thanks for the video. Should I get the Eufy Smart Lock S230 and the dual-camera doorbell separately, or is just the Smart Lock S330 a good option? Please advise.
hi there-two questions regarding these products. I have an android phone not an i phone, does this restrict me from anything and it is understandable that when you want to access the door from the outside you have to unlock it as described but turn a separate lever to open the door, but when you want to get out of the premises, you still have to security unlock it and then turn the additional knob as well to get out? Tks-keep it up.
According to the site, you can silence the Eufy doorbell which is exactly why we got them. We currently have our doorbell covered up because it sets our dogs off. They are for Christmas though so we haven't set them up yet but you are supposed to be able to silence it on the app/ with the Homebase 3.
Nope. I don't believe that is a function of either. I think the locks that support that are BLE. But that seems hit or miss. Most locks I review don't have that feature. If you are an apple user then you can look at a lock that supports HomeKey (Aqara U100 for example). That is a quick unlock by holding your phone or watch to the lock.
Will S330 or E330 allows to temporally disable users in a bulk operations ? Lets say I allow users with a schedule on weekdays. on July 4th that falls on Thursday, I would like to disable a set of users in one shot and enable them back on next day , is it possible ? A bulk operation or a Grouping mechanism ?
No, I don't believe either lock supports this operation. You can set up an individual user with a schedule but you'd have to do that for every single user you want to do that with. And you cannot get that granular with your control. If you're looking for advanced scheduling you might want to look into a Z-Wave or zigbee powered lock and then integrate it with home assistant.
Right now I've got kind of a halfway integration where I can lock the locks with home assistant. Using the Google Assistant integration in home assistant. But unlocking won't work even with a Google Assistant SDK add-on. Because it requires a pin. There is a Eufy integration that I use for a lot of my cameras but it currently does not support either of these locks.
@@ThisSmartHouse I just asked for me basically not that I meant to point out a mistake.. I think your presentation was absolutely Terrific.. I actually can't get Alexa to open the door on my S330.. Not sure what I'm doing wrong with that.. Any advice would help.. Thanks!
You can use the base station as a chime, along with Alexa when you havea HomeBase. But the only way to use the included chime is with a USB dongle. I haven't played with it yet.
The E330 has a reset button that is only reached from inside the house (in the battery compartment) where the S330 reset button is on the outside of the door on the bottom where anyone can push it.
The S330 button on the outside is NOT a "reset" button. It merely reboots the lock to reconnect it to wifi (or to the Homebase 3) if it becomes disconnected. It doesn't "reset" the lock nor change the security settings.
Yes. That is actually how it works. I even confirmed this by unplugging my chime. I do think they've updated the chime to still be usable once you connect it to the homebase.
Eufy had a spell where they weren’t working with HomeKit. The older cameras (HomeBase 2 generation) had some limited HKSV features. The new S3 Pros have brought that back, but not sure if they are bring that backward to older products. The Aqara locks support both.
My e330 on latest firmware says it is not homebase3 compatible - even though my homebase3 says it is SmartLockE330 compatible. Not sure if anyone has gotten it to connect….
I was told there's a new app version coming out to support it. It might be a slow rollout especially if you're on iOS. I wasn't able to get it working on Android or iOS before I released the video. They did note that you have to set it up from scratch to connect to the home base, that means you cannot migrate from Wi-Fi to home base. So you'll have to factory reset your lock before you can pair it.
Well the firmware supports it but it looks like the app doesn't yet. I would give it another week. I am going to reach back out to my technical contact and see what version you need to be on.
@@ThisSmartHouseany update on this? I just received my E330, but it keeps saying the firmware needs to be updated, but there are no updates. HomeBase 3 shows it’s compatible. I have to use WiFi for the time being.

They do have automations in the app to lock at a certain time. You can also use Google assistant routines to lock at a specific time.
Just installed two of the E330s to go with my S330 cams. So far so good. Installation and setup with the Homebase 3 was easy.
