Same here! Johnny is incredibly passionate about the topics he covers, and it’s always a treat when he shares memories with his friends who occasionally join as guests.
It’s sweet to see the photo of you all as boys and to see you still together with the same burning passion all these years later as men is a beautiful thing.
In 1998, I was in college taking my second semester of Japanese in college and my professor was pushing me to join the JET program. I never actually did it, and I always wondered what it would have been like. This video really took me back to that time in my life.
What an episode and what a conversation! I love it when you get some of your old buddies together and have these natural talks about games and movies, pop culture, etc. makes me want to call my old buddies and share a day of gossip, gaming and just having a great time!
Everytime I hear John and friends reference the past it makes me want to play the Dragon Quest series... I'm not sure I fully understand why but the feeling is real
John, I swear you are either some kind of video game prophet, or you've got the inside baseball on upcoming releases. POWERSTONE 1& 2 was just announced during todays Nintendo Direct to be releasing on the Switch. There are so many times over the years you've said this or that game would be great to have on the Nintendo Switch that end up being announced shortly after to be coming to the platform. You've got a hell of a track record, I'm impressed.
Awesome to see Gord man again. After all these years of hearing story about him. It also very cool and rare that all you D&D guys are still friends after all these years
Awesome talk and loved the discussion! Eymeric also spent time in Hokkaido in Japan or around 7 months back in 2011/2012 in Hirosaki - so I was curious if that was the town Gord Man was in! I went and met Eymeric there halfway through his exchange and also got to go there and visit - such a cool place!!! I remember wanting to do the JET program but never ended up doing it. Super fun video!
Seriously man. I watch a lot of UA-cam. Your videos are hands down the best on here. You just hit play and it’s gonna be a good video. Good conversation. Good vibes. Keep it real without negativity. It’s always a treat to just put ur videos on and hear the conversations. I could listen to this all day. Love it.
Love hearing stories of your youth. I am so appreciative of your memories and storytelling, really launches me to a time I appreciate but was not a part of!
I Love LadyHawke´s soundtrack, yeah it´s a bit out of the movie´s theme but I always liked being more modern than what was always used by movie directors at the time. Great cast and a great movie! 👍
I remember going to live in Japan from the early 90s and it was an awesome experience. I picked up the language very quickly and the food was awesome. I would make my friends in the united states jealous because I had access to gaming consoles before they would like the PS1, PS2, N64, Saturn, Dreamcast. I got to experience a lot of awesome games before the united states had access to them and it was a fun time.
And I literally just bought Ladyhawke on UA-cam Premium because of this. 10 seconds into the opening of the movie and I already love the soundtrack. Thanks guys.
@@AkiraYuki5150 It’s just good to see someone past their 40’s making video game content regardless of people trying to shame older people for their passions. I’ve massively cut down on gaming, but I don’t think I’ll ever quit.
"Bad Vangelis" hahaha. This was super great! Gord Man and you have 100% success rate on doing a critical hit video. Loved the last time he was on the channel and this was even better!
Cool to see him back. Yeah man the launch of the dreamcast is a huge gaming memory for me too, I was totally thinking it was the best console ever at the time
So much insight into each video and the memories. Love the content and look forward to every upload Johnny! If youre ever near Calgary touring around would love to say hello!
Thanks for the video Johnny. You are appreciated. And speaking of pen/paper RPG's, there is going to be a re-release the classic "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" RPG from 1985!!
I watched Ladyhawke after learning that SMT 4 swiped a bunch of the character names from it. Was half expecting Kurt Russel, but that was from another movie.
The only downside of this video is that it’s ‘only’ 22 minutes. I really enjoyed listening to Gord Man’s story’s, i’m sure he has many more to tell. Great to see him back on the show! I sure hope he’ll return once again.
Ladyhawke soundtrack was produced by Alan Parsons (music written by the guy who did the orchestral arrangements for his Alan Paraons Project albums). Parsons worked with Pink Flloyd and even The Beatles, so he's not an amateur, like the soundtrack or not
I kind of want to give Elden Ring another shot but i also want to watch One Punch Man, what to do? What to do? I love Gord's stories about Japan in this one :)
OMG! I just watched a review by someone on Phantasy Star 1 and the memories ect. It did not hit me till the end it was you 16 years ago!!!! HOLY!!!!! lol.... Musta been a reason I enjoyed the review and memories hahaha. Didn't have a sega master or that game but a friend did and I was so jealous. I wanted to play it so bad. But Zelda was my first love.. and Dragon Warrior.
My Dreamcast has not been working for quite some time. I watched this, and I finally fixed it. And you know what Power Stone still plays like a champ 🏆 💪😊
We need a 6-10 part series of Gord Man and his adventures in Japan 😁💖💖💖
The only UA-camr I like the video before even watching, loved this channel for so many years now!
Same here! Johnny is incredibly passionate about the topics he covers, and it’s always a treat when he shares memories with his friends who occasionally join as guests.
Me too!
Same! I know in advance I'm going to like it, might as well do it early so I don't forget.
Been watching every week since 2013ish
Same 😂
Just a few more weeks and Johnny can totally pull off Guile's cosplay
That's just what I was thinking.
😂Happy guile gamer
Can't get over how much you guys can remember from so long ago. More power to you. Thanks.
12:11 amazing to listen to this after the announcement of the Power Stone port.

I'm loving the guile look
Awesome to see Gord man again. After all these years of hearing story about him. It also very cool and rare that all you D&D guys are still friends after all these years
Powerstone 1 & 2 being announced for nintendo switch just a few days after this video is near perfect timing.

Another great video. I am listening to this while playing Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic on the Xbox.
Haha 2 days later Capcom fighting collection 2 announces! 😂

Great Japan stories! Hope to see him back on again sooner than another 3 years!
Hurray!
Man I love hearing you and your stories and I am always looking forward to a new episode every Sunday! You’re an inspiration for sure! Thank you 🙏
Amazing Gordman edit at the end. I appreciated that immensely.
Nothin like firing up some coffee to a 10:30AM video!
I wonder if you've heard about Power Stone yet. Capcom Fighting Collection 2?

WELCOME BACK GORDMAN.I ADORE THE PHANTASY STAR VIDEO YOU GUYS DID A COUPLE YRS BACK,I WATCH IT AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR.
Great to see a fellow former JET participant on the show! (2007-2012 Okayama prefecture), one of the best experiences of my life.
Love these vids with your friends the best, could watch em all day! Would love to see you, Andrew, Rob and Gord all together
The only channel which takes me back to late 80s and 90s era nostalgia.
I’m excited for Power Stone as well 😊
Seeing Gaston turn into Ferris a year later and Batty into Navarre was just awesome! Plus Michelle Pfeiffer...stunning! Such a great movie!
Thanks for always being so positive Johnny
I thought this was a repost! Glad he’s back. That roadtrip story from his last visit was epic.
Cool to see him back. Yeah man the launch of the dreamcast is a huge gaming memory for me too, I was totally thinking it was the best console ever at the time
Entertaining guest, nice to hear you guys reminisce

What a great episode 👍👍 Gord is such a cool guy. I'm also a teacher.
This channel is a time bubble, wether for the games or the knowable characters, feels very "home like". Thank you, Johnny.
Gord is a real, real OG!
Yes! Gord Man is back!. Very interesting stories from Gord.
I watched Ladyhawke after learning that SMT 4 swiped a bunch of the character names from it. Was half expecting Kurt Russel, but that was from another movie.

Love your videos and guests.
Gotta say, way to go Gord Man to sport that shirt after decades! Not everyone fits in their old stuff 😂💪
Thanks for the positive video again 👌
7:30 That Canadian "soooo" reminds me of his brother Robman.
Awesome memories!
So glad to see Gord Man back and this time he's embraced the name 😂😂😂
Johnny, you've convinced me to find the Ladyhawke soundtrack. Only the best music.
I love this video so much
Like Johnny, Gord Man doesn't age either!! Gaming must be good for you 👍🏻
Man the ability to play DND in person for hours and hours. Would kill to have a dedicated group like that!
47 here, I've been fortunate to have had the same gaming group of middle aged dudes for the past 6 years. We meet every other Friday. It's amazing!
@@jasonmountain4643 ive been running a campaign for 5 years now but its all online via roll 20 and dnd beyond.

You and Gord arguing about Lady Hawk reminds me of the Ready Player One book where Parzival and Aech are also arguing about Lady Hawk 😂
Respect for using the Ys 9 soundtrack
