It was Cirice that won the Grammy, not He Is! That one is also a masterpiece of songwriting from Ghost
It was the Swedish equivalent "Grammis" that was awarded for Ghost's album "Meliora" and they performed "He Is" at the event
I've been ignoring Ghost. I'm a fool. Thanks for covering them here. My eyes and ears are on a trek down Ghost's full catalog 😅

Ghost is just fun, and they are great musicians.(Especially Tobias Forge ofc...)
This song and video are amazing. What's even better about this song is Ghost played it live at the Grammys years ago and the crowd had no idea what was happening. Ghost ended up winning the grammy for Cirice that year I believe and their acceptance speech was also hilarious due to the crowd still being confused.

Given the way you listen to songs, I do think you will get a kick out of reviewing "Call me little sunshine" (Grammy nominee), "Hunter's Moon" or "Griftwood" from their latest album, "Impera".. (Heck, you could do an album review of "Impera" as the music itself and the mixing is totally next level..) Wanna check out harder stuff? Do "Cirice" (Grammy winner) and "Mummy Dust" from the "Meliora" album, "Year Zero" (censored version 😅) from the "Infestissumam" album or "Faith" from the "Prequelle" album.. Wanna do poppy stuff? Do "Spillways" from the "Impera" album.. Finally.. I challenge you to try "Twenties" from the "Impera" album for some serious metal reggeaton. 😄🤘

Ghost had this one resting for quite at time to release it on an album where it belonged. I love that they are so meticulous with the structure of their (or Tobias) albums. In this case it fitted the Meliora album. Great reaction!

LMAO knowing David's view of MVs in general. He couldn't help himself laughing his butt off at this one. Props to Ghost for parody and creativity all wrapped into one great MV. MTV in it's heyday would be running this every hour. Parody with a warning as we all know what happens when a leader developed a cult following with their followers. Love the song but really enjoy the message even

Pretty sure this one is my favourite He is reaction, your humour is great and I appreciate all the edit and soundbites. Also love how much technical knowledge you have and notice all the details that actually make Ghost great to me but without even knowing why. I wouldn't say a music video is to promote the song only but also help to understand it's meaning easier.

Ghost are Amanzing! Love the singles, but i recommend you check out a Early Stuff, the First Album Is Really really Good, songs like Ritual, Stand by Him and Elizabeth are a great introduction to Old Ghost era.

This as many Ghost songs rises few controversies between audiences, but the way that satiric side of the things are presented is just brilliant.

Yeah, we know about your take on vids...but with Ghost those are a cool addition which enances the musical "message" in songs like Rats, Little Sunshine, Kiss the Go Goat or Dance Macabre🤷♂️😁👍

My favourite Ghost song.
Though the video is a parody about evangelicals, the inspiration came after a fellow musician and friend died. He had this tune lying unfinished when the friend died, and there it was.

Till this day, this is my 12 year olds song favorite church song. I havent told him its the opposite yet lol.
There’s so much lore to ghost too. The whole band is Tobias and he plays all the different lead singers in different masks. They uploaded a mini UA-cam series of funny videos for lore too

Live this should be interesting. Their only professionally shot concert video is Mary on a Cross and it is far better than the studio version. One of the hookiest catchy songs ever. Can only hope they have a full concert DVD in the works.
I talked with Tobias about making a live concert DVD/BR back in 2015, and he was trying to find the right gig to do it then.. so kind of surprising they still have nothing. Thankfully Ghost don't have any problems with fancams on youtube so there's a ton of live footage out there
@Wagoo If they had the full concert shot like Mary in Tampa, that is release quality stuff. I'd buy it immediately. Lots of video but mediocre audio quality. Mary is perfect live video. Hell it has 20 million views.

Yep, good song...but not my favorite from Ghost. I would really like to see a reaction from David for a live version of "Year Zero". Tobias is a superb composer, and he has a really good voice. Ghost reminds me a lot of my early metal days of the 70's....great melodic and theatrical songs....but then I don't take the whole satanic thing seriously. Great reaction and breakdown David, enjoyable viewpoint.

just so you can know about it: tobias wrote this song mostly for his brother that passed away (suicide if I'm not wrong???) than any other religious reference. of course it matches his band but it was a sad and broken hearted song writed.
His brother died of heartfailure, not suicide.
