As of patch 2.0 Slosher Deco has Zippy, and it’s quite interesting to use. For instance, you can use the special to get up to high ledges or just scale up walls and then slosh the air in front of you to get some free damage on anyone below
This video is super helpful! Ive wanted to learn how to play octobrush since it was first seen in competitive play, but zip was such a mindblock. I’ll try to put these spots into my games as soon as I get home from school lmao
I feel like this is pretty relevant considering the video, so I want to share a kit I came up with using the Zipcaster. It would be Bamboozler with Ink Mine and Zipcaster. If you place a ton of Ink Mines around the map, especially in places enemies will go (crazy, almost like that's how the sub works) you can go to the enemy once they step on an Ink Mine and one shot them using the Ink Mine's chip damage. What're they gonna do, hide? Now, you may be thinking, "What if they're too far away? You won't be able to get to them in time to use the chip damage!" You see, that's where the Zipcaster comes in. If they step on an Ink Mine, but are too far away, you just pop your special and zip right on over, netting the one shot. It's a shame you can't replace the Ink Mine while Zipcaster is active. TL;DR If Ink Mine go boom, Zipcaster go Zoom.
its too bad that zipcaster is really good against weapons that don't have zipcaster, because now I really wanna see two zipcasters flying around the map trying to hit each other desperately before their special meter runs out
To make sure i have this right; the way to increase zip cast its self is to use special power up. The second way to stay in zip cast longer is to use ink saver main. Although it is using the main weapon in zip cast form not the zip cast itself. However, a way to decrease zip cast zips is to use special charge up.

I'm a Luna Blaster main, and since my main weapon is so ink-hungry I don't bother with Special Power Up at all. The build I'm going for uses three subs of Ink Saver Main in addition to Last-Ditch Effort. The rest of the build is Drop Roller, Sub Resistance Up, and Sub Power Up.
one thing ive figured out to be very useful is that the zipcaster gives you a full 2 ink tanks instead of just one. Because of this, I think that running more SCU instead of more main saver can give you a much greater effective ink tank Also, the jump back it gives you is incredibly useful. It allows you to overextend much safer, letting you flank midliners and even frontliners easier on top of backliners. one other thing i learned is that a lot of times going high makes your zipcaster very obvious, even with a lot of clever spots. Thats not always a bad thing, but if youre going for stealth, its a lot better to try flanking by climbing up small uninkable walls rather than crossmap zips. The tips you gave were great! I think in one of the trailers they showed splash with zip as an early concept but later scrapped. I still think it would great if they gave it to a neo or something! PLEEEAAAAAASE NINTENDOOOOO!!!
When I was grinding to get the zipcaster sticker for my splashtag I used it in so many creative ways. One of my favorite ways to use it in close combat in small spaces (hagglefish sides, mincemeat blocks, etc) no one expects it and you can kill them with chip damage and give them vertigo by forcing the to constantly circle. I love using zipcaster!
I love zip caster so much, its the most fun special in all of existence, i am an octo brush main just bcs it has zip, other than that i main chargers lol

This vid was awesome and super helpful as I just picked up stamper, and zipcaster was a bit intimidating at first but now I feel a bit more confident with it.
This is what I do. I zip to a rly high place so that I have options, and then I wait for someone to look away or notice a potential double team, and that’s when I zip in. I used to hate zipcaster bc I died ALLL the time. But now I love it tbh.

I've been having a hard time using the Stamper purely because of Zipcaster but I'm gonna try this and see if I can get better with it

Works great on paper but once you leave the paper there’s so much room for things to go wrong, and Bamboozler doesn’t charge that fast while midair

With the 4.0 patch and Light Tetra Dualies, one of the strongest Slayer weapons, having Zipcast, this will be very helpful.

There are a few maps like hagglefish market, mako mart, and wahoo world are the few maps i struggle on with this special.
i’ve been really struggling with this special and the splatana stamper, i end up dying a lot while using the zip caster and i need tips

I don't think so - I would just press the left trigger to go into swim form and then release immediately
