This unit is not IDF. They are a special counter-terrorist police unit. The members are typically Ex-special ops IDF.
There are similar such units in Germany and the UK.
You are getting confused with YASAM
YAMAM is from the IDF ( border police ) - they work with the actual police
YASAM is the same thing but they work in police stations - they are policemans - they are the same regarding to their operations the only difference is that they don't work overseas - only YAMAM
