I bought this aged 13 in 1983. Still as hauntingly beautiful today as it was back then. Sylvian's breathy and emotionally charged vocals and lyrics just add further depth to the piece. As a singer myself I really appreciate this song. Very sad to hear of Sakamoto's untimely death. This is a great tribute to him and his amazing talent as a pianist, and composer, of which he was a master of his art.

If you watch the criterion collection extra where ryuichi talks about the film's score, he goes into great depth about how he hated his work for so long until he gave in realizing people still love and praise his work as one the greatest

Saw David Sylvian in 1988 Los Angeles he played this song. I was in high school then.
