Badwater is a place in Death Valley National Park, in California. The ground water there is not drinkable; hence, bad water. Why name a bass pedal after it? Because Badwater is also the lowest point of elevation in the northern hemisphere, at 282 feet below sea level. So it's low. Like bass.
This might have been pointed out by someone else already so if that's the case I apologize ahead of time, but Badwater is the lowest point in North America located in Death Valley, CA. Pretty cool name for a pedal catered to the low end!
Great opening track, Henning. I appreciate the time and effort you put into all your videos. Another good review. The quality of the content more than compensates for the shirts.
Oooh ooh badwater keep on rolling Mississippi lows just keep on flowing. This pedal doesn’t get as dirty as the Mississippi itself, few things do. Oooh that sweet deep growl with just enough sparkle on top. I like that bass box a lot! Those salty sea dogs know how to BASS!
I love the SVT and Bassman sound, but my god it’s difficult to use one in a smaller studio. The low mids are impossible to tame, even with an active bass. I’m going to try this pedal out. I really hope it works.
The "Zoom B2" , officially a modeling pedal, has been out for about a dozen years. It does everything the Wampler does and more for about half the price. It is somewhat complicated and not easy to change on the fly, but has reverb, delays, modulation effects, and even a useable synth-bass effect all programable to multiple storage locations. Hell, you can get these now for about a hundred bucks now. Even the presets will impress. A must-have for bass. I did like your demo and would check out your band if I knew its name. Sounds like you have some nice licks.
I like the overdrive sound. It’s not enough to sound like Alex Webster, but for rock it’s enough. The eq doesn’t fit my needs though. The low mids shoud go downto 200Hz or at least 250Hz. I think in that manner Darkglass had made a better job. The best preamp in my opinion was the Marcus Miller preamp from SWR though. At least of those I tried. And Henning, it’s not the only pedal you need. I know many of my colleagues are a bit lazy in that manner, but you do need a tuner pedal 😆 But all in all I would like to see more bass related stuff from you. Thx 😊
Why does nobody talk about putting it into amp. I prefer it through my amp but get out of hiss from the combination of the amps own preamp and the badwaters. If I could omit the hiss, I'd be really happy.
I like how the graphics are understated yet so detailed and expansive. Kinda like this pedal itself, I guess?

I'm really getting into the Low Notes stuff! Some of those things have really long... horns! Great video as always Henning! 😎🎸🤘
A German commenting on English compound words? Oh, the irony!
Just playing. Love you, Henning! Keep up the good work!

Also Hennig’s dancing at the one part is a total dorky “dad” dance and I love it

I'm still using the Dr J Sparrow you reviewed back in the day, it's amazing.

Badwater is Dutch for bath water.
We call earth water badwater for different reasons, doesn’t Nestle own the rights all the water on earth?
Hope you do the Lore🤞

@@EytschPi42 Look forward to it 👍
Wow this sounds really good. But then again, when has one of Walrus Audios designs not sounded great? Great video Hennig as always. #glenniswrong

As a bass player my amp does everything this pedal does - get a good amp instead :)
