"Stay with Me" and "The Only One" are my favorite Sam Smith songs. By the way, I Loved your belting workshop yesterday! It was very insightful. I've been applying the excercises to my practice and my belt is a lot more open and resonant now.
yea usually when you get higher and louder (belting notes) you will feel your diaphragm getting tighter and supporting your sound so your voice doesn't strain. do lip trails while singing high as an exercise to learn how much you should support your sound
hello my sweetie, thank you so much for the analysis💝💅🏽 by the way, sam describes themself as a non-binary individual so their pronouns are they/them👐🏽🙏🏽
Oh please! That has nothing to do with Freya’s analysis! Btw, it’s gone too far with those pronouns! It’s ONE person?! It sounds stupid to address one person as them/they etc! If he wants to call himself “we” - sure! But he’s born with a penis which makes him a HE, no matter what his sexual preferences are.
@@LitlaLjufa hey Lena, thanks for your reply! I am not at all dismissing Freya’s analysis, hopefully it did not come across as such. I hear your confusion regarding singular and plural pronouns, but did you know that singular they has been used for ages? It’s really interesting to look up the history of the use of that word, read up on it if you like! maybe the idea that we tend to use the pronoun ‘you’ both to address an individual as well as a group of people helps to get a ‘feel’ for this use of pronouns as well. Finally, I’d like to clarify that the use of pronouns hasn’t necessarily anything to do with a person’s sexuality! I agree with you, these sex / gender / biology / sexual preference topics can get super confusing! It’s therefore absolutely okay not to fully understand, but we can still treat people we do not fully understand with dignity 😊
I just hear whining when he sings. As a vocal coach maybe you could help him sing in a more natural way? Listening to him overdramatize every single note is like nails on a chalkboard.
Loved the video and Sam Smith is one of my fav artists. Please, please do more analysis videos!
i think the impressive part is the vocal processing chain that microphone is connected to.

You should do The Weeknd.
Not the only one analytics
Dr Dan is thinking of doing Vocal Analysis videos too! You should give him some ideas.
Please do “One indescribable instant” by Lea Salonga on Crazy Ex Girlfriend. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Plz do a reaction of nick Jonas's song of Jealous
plis react to daniel gomes the voice Brazil more singing you didn't teach me to forget you
I’m trying to understand how much ‘support’ is needed when singing.
Is there a lot of effort happening here that we just can’t see? (Under his shirt!)

Replace my “he” with “they/them” if that’s what you want, IDC about pronouns I care about what sounds good or bad
