+BrownTownReviews I really HATE that guy, DC keeps shoehorning him into SO MUCH SHIT, all because Deadpool is a hit for Marvel. That's mostly because he's a self-aware court jester 90s comics throwback that they figured out prints money the more comics he cameos in, and Deathstroke is that but still meant to be taken seriously even though he's the most blase of super-solder infused anti-heroes who peaked back in his family story ark in New Teen Titans. But that's just my opinion, I'm sure someone will flip out over it.
+BrownTownReviews Yeah that was some bullshit, I was waiting for an epic fight. Also waaaay more Scarecrow, which was arguably the best part of Arkham Asylum.
Razor Im sure you would love to know Kojima blowed some of phantom pain's budget konami gave him to make his own brand of sunglasses during mid production. That wasnt even a tie-in to the game itself. Thats what sold me that the phantom pain was going to be an absolute trainwreck. I had to do a double take back in 2015 when a japanese journalist published the article.
Arkham Knight was a huge step backwards in terms of gameplay and story. But that Riddler stunt completely turned me off from even finishing the game. Sorry, comeback after you complete more bullshit, Batman... bye bye.
+Prince Revolver The mere fact they had to pleathered the games total length for series of aggravating puzzles of collectition overkill was an insult on it's own. While trying to desperately get you to justify in paying for sub-par mini story quests that were shorter than a 14 minute Maiden song along with boring racing time puzzles was laughable at best. All with a collective price tag of $30, this game should of been considered offensive to most Batman fans.

+ALJustice0 Then Ubisoft had the balls to say they were shocked when Syndicate had poor week one sales. You mean to tell me a franchise that has been known to have game-breaking glitches when it's released every year is now starting to feel the effects of diminishing returns? Who in hell would have ever thought?
+Kyle De'Larouche Similar Victorian/Dickensian aesthetic, similar theme of being a hunter of monsters (although, in the case of the Snoredor, that was blatantly false advertising), infusion of occultism/strange technology into the setting, gameplay that verges in polar opposite directions in all regards.
2015 was pretty much the year that solidified the idea to me that AAA titles aren't even worth looking into (unless you consider Xenoblade Chronicles X, Tales of Zestiria, and Super Mario Maker to be AAA titles these days). I had immensely more fun playing things like Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3 and Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax than I did for literally every AAA title that I played that was released in 2015.
+DarkFlice Hell, most of the year I just played my old games like the first KotoR and Morrowind. Games like Xenoblade Chronicles X, while not perfect, showed that there was a lot of love that went into that game and felt like a better Western RPG than Fallout 4. Which is fucking crazy considering that Xenoblade is a JRPG! Overall, 2015 was not a bad year in gaming, it just was not a good one. With how terrible last year was people think this year is so great because the industry did not shit itself as hard as it did last year. Games like Splatoon, Bloodborne, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Maker, a plethora of indie games made by people with some actual fucking passion for video games, and even Halo 5 (not as good as 4, yes I liked 4, but was still better than what Bungie has been doing for the past 2 years). Unfortunately, there was far too much shit out this year that actual good games took a back seat...as usual.
Hovis Steve Well, if you're going to say that it's overrated, I would really like some elaboration, because most game critics scored it somewhere around a 7.5-8.3/10, which is around where I would expect a game that I would call 'good' to fall. I could see you saying it's overrated if it got the same scores that Resident Evil 5 got (mostly 8.5-9/10 for something that I would argue was a spit in the face to Resident Evil fans, and really only made to kill off Wesker), but XCX falls right where I would expect it to fall in terms of how it's rated.
You just gotta love Razörfist. He never fails to deliver something so edgy, you'll cut your finger by clicking on it. Putting MGSV on the top 5 turds list, never mind #2 on the list. He truly lives up to his name.
***** Hey hey hey - no need to get aggressive. I really like your channel. If you haven't seen it, I proclaimed why I like your channel so much on your Star Wars video. That comment had quite a few likes, IIRC. I have never called you "edgy" before, but I always guessed that's what you try to be to a certain extent. I mean you put a giant freaking razorblade on the screen and call yourself "Razörfist". I liked your MGSV review. I even agree with you on quite a few things, but I don't think it deserves a place on a "Top 5 Turds of 2015" list. I don't feel the need of disproving your points, because I agree with quite a few of them, but not all of them. If I were to do that, I'd have to write a 10 page comment, and that wouldn't be disproving, but just my opinion. So calm down, please. My opinion is different than yours, and I guess it must've come across as way more negative than I actually intended. All I did was make a small joke about your name and how you never fail to deliver what I like about you. Guess I should've used emoticons/emojis to insure I don't sound hostile, but then you'd probably call me doubly autistic. By the way, was it really necessary to bring the big guns to a comment like mine?
EA Battlefront clearly suffered from being post-Lucas. The first two were these insanely geeky games with everything possible thrown into them, then the whole Expanded Universe gets thrown away. At the very least, they were going to have to scale everything way back.
I see those poor fuckers pop up occasionally, I think it's a sort of abused spouse kind of thing, that or they don't want to admit they sunk so much faith into a game that turned out to be shit.
+trahapace150 Behold the aspergers laden creep, who due to being shunned out of social gatherings, has divined it normal and acceptable to compare video games to spousal abuse. i'm sure you're swimming in friends pal.
bruce livingston because , like I imagined, that person has never played better games like "uncharted", "gears of war", "spec ops the line", "GTA5", "putting your dick in a toster", the game has good ideas , great potential and gorgeous graphics, but it wasted it all, you varely get to use the creative weapons, the level and enemy design is the most basic I have ever seen , the stroy is simple but tries to sound complex with too much dialogue. Finding somebody that has played those games and likes the order is equivalent to finding somebody that has eaten burgers in over 100 different places and sais that mcdonalds is among his favorites
I'm surprised BFHardline didn't make the list. Also dishonorable mention to Evolve and MKX. Not bad games perse but the microtransactions were shameless.
Loved the video, although personally I really enjoyed Until Dawn and Star Wars Battlefront. Keep doing you Razorfist, I'm realising more and more than your views don't need to match my own for them to be thoroughly enjoyable...although seeing you shit on a game I don't like is undeniably enjoyable!
I'm surprised Tony Hawk didn't make the list. I loved that series and the fact that they want full retail price for the insult that is Tony Hawk 5 blows my mind. Just "How?"
People who constantly complain about bad games: **Immediately rushes out to buy another game from the developers and publishers that screwed them other last time...* Me: *"DiD i EvEr TeLl YoU tHe DeFiNiTiOn Of InSaNiTy?"*
2015: The year of hyped games that (unsurprisingly) failed to live up to expectations. Honestly, at this point, anyone who takes a whit of notice of anything about any game pre-launch is just asking for disappointment. The hype is all lies, spin, and Peter Molyneaux's unbridled enthusiasm. One need only glance at the slow moving car wreck that is Tom Clancy's: The Division to see the hype to disappointment process unfolding before our eyes.
+Darkly Tranquil That's kinda the modus operandi of AAA nowadays, isn't it? everyone's blown away by the initial showing of a Triple A game until deal-breaking news/rumors/leaks appear that put on jeopardy the virtue of the game and its creators. it's like nobody learned anything from Fable.
+Darkly Tranquil please explain (bullet points will do). I have been thinking of pre-ordering this as a birthday present for someone and would rather avoid wasting my money if it is going to be bad.
+ Nualaboala Just to be clear, I'm not categorically saying The Division will be bad, merely that the signs are not positive and that too much pre-release expectation is a recipe for disappointment. In the end, the game, like many of the ones Razor listed, will most likely be reasonably serviceable, but fail to live up to all the prerelease marketing. My advice is simply to wait for the game to release and then read/watch the reviews and watch some streams before committing to buy - Don't pre-order. Regarding your request I would suggest that the multiple graphical downgrades, the removal of features like the mobile app, the recent revelation that Brooklyn will not be included at release, and the lack of clarity about exactly what the endgame content will be, are all areas of concern that the game we end up getting may not bear much resemblance to the game that Ubisoft have promoted. All in all, The Division smells suspiciously like Destiny; though I guess you might like it if you thought Destiny was okay.
Hopefully 2015 illustrated that hype is almost never a good thing to get into. _Cautious optimism_ is the way to go: Be hopeful that shit works out, but carry a poncho and a gas mask on your person in case the septic tank explodes. Then again, if 2014 didn't drive that point home, what will?
+ImTheDruggernaut 2014 drove that point home for me. I used to have devs that I always trusted to bring a great product, but when destiny came out, that went out the window.
Krispy Kreme just opened a branch in my city, so I'm watching Razorfist with a hot and fresh doughnut and a few big dabs. Could life get better? I think not.
What the? I used to respect your opinions, but it's obvious from your doughnut preference that was a mistake. Kiss this subscriber goodbye you Dunkin Donuts desiring douche-dog.
I agree with most of these titles, except with the Phantom Pain. It may be just our tastes being different, but I like that game. And even if it is repetitive, at least it works and tries to do something, while things like Arkham Knight and Tony Hawk's Pro Glitchfest all slide around in the pit of shit, that is called "being unfinished." So I wouldn't necessarily say AAA was dead this year. There's Bloodborne for example. Or the aforementioned Witcher 3, Mortal Kombat X included and some other titles. Of course more people notice the big turds the industry has brought us, since, like actual turds, their smell is more invasive and pushes others aside.
+Black Star Does that mean that Phantom Pain has to be allllllllll about stealth too? Sure, the whole series was about stealth, but people have to try every once in a while at creating something different, don't you think? MGSV was simply a step in the new direction that may not have gone over as well as Konami expected, but it's still a solid game, even if the focus is less on stealth and more on the overworld aspect of it. I agree, that calling it a "stealth game" is silly. What I don't agree with is this thing alone varranting backlash. And hey, f*ck you kindly, I played through two, three, Peace Walker and most of Four too, so ignorance your arse, I'm simply not as stuck believing that all games of a series have to feature the same thing the first few did, meaning I guess I'm more open minded when it comes to changes in the core aspect of the game for innovation, even if said innovation isn't that big, but just gives the game series a new light. Second of all, MGS has "always" been about stealth? Well, colour me crazy, but wasn't this the exact problem with MGS4 when it came out? That it could be beaten as an idiotic 3rd person shooter because the stealth was not as demanding and the non-stealth gameplay was not so bad as to truly force you to use stealth? Not to mention you could also beat all the other metal gears going in loud and dumb, it was simply very hard to do so and more focus was on stealth.
+trahapace150 Well, I wouldn't call it an indie, but nevermind. And of course, everyone keeps biatching about MKX's micropayments. Dumbass, let me ask a question: Do you HAVE to pay for them? Are you in any way forced to pay because you're too bad at the game to pull off fatalities? Or are you simply stupid enough to buy them? No? Well, then what's your frickin' problem? Sure, they are an unnecessary feature but to call the game itself rubbish because it makes pulling off some cosmetic things easier for some stupid rich people, who can't even play the game right is an unreasonable argument. Other games feature closed off sections of the story, like Bioshock Infinite's Burial at Sea chapters or Asura's Wrath, that closed off the entire ending of the game behind a paywall. At least Netherrealm actually gives you more shit with extra characters and skins and if you throw the Goro argument at me, saying he was on the disc, but you had to preorder or buy him to get him, I've been to a retailer one week after the initial release and already, boxed copies had the "Includes playable Goro" sticker plastered onto them, just as it was with Batman: Arkham Origins and Deathstroke. "Ew, we have to preorder it to play as Deathstroke! Oh, wait, we can buy it anyway at no extra cost, we just have to wait a bit. Oops."
vcom741 no, it made 2014 look good. true 2015 didn't have tons glitches like 14 but that's because we got less games than 2014 in general and the games were too simplify to cause tons of glitches.
I like how he mentioned Danger Close being disbanded because EA disentegrated the Medal of Honor franchise and it wasn't supposed to launch the way it did it 2011
That's pretty good. I personally enjoyed Until Dawn but I will admit there were things about it that disappointed me. I played it once through but I sold it right after. Good video.
Know what I loved about The Order? When I kept hearing people talking about how amazing the previews were and my response was always "What was so amazing about it? It was just a cutscene?" Seriously, I'm not sure if they EVER showed an actual GAMEPLAY trailer with gameplay in it which is why I never bothered with it. I guess the trailers were an accurate representation of the game.
The only thing that surprised me was that MGS V wasn't number 1, but then I saw your number 1 and said to myself "oh yeah, we all forgot about The Order at McDonalds on 1886 avenue."
I only have knowledge of very few old school video games. What are 5 of the best games in the category of first-person-shooters, or the like (of any year)? I'm thinking of getting back into it. Anyone.
When I hear people say this was a good year in gaming I want to face palm so hard that I break the sound barrier. Was it better than 2014? Sure, most things are better than 2014, but that does not make 2015 good. The good games we got were few and far inbetween all of the shit. Games like Splatoon, Mario Maker, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bloodborne, Halo 5 (yes it is not a shit show like everyone else claims it is), and a hand full of indie games got buried under shit mountain. Hell, we even got some game makers, actual passionate ones, who started up some Kickstarters for some spiritual sequels like: Yooka Laylee, Bloodstained, and Indivisible. While not done they do show a large amount of hope that we get some quality games from passionate people. Sadly, most will not remember the good as they are too blind to remember the bad being good. Order 1886, Star Wars Battlefront, Batman Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, MGS 5, and so much more. The AAA industry has proven that they cannot be trusted to make anything good. Hell we even got the shit lord himself, Tim Schafer, lie and steal more money from gamers with another crowdfunded game that will need at least 2 more crowdfunding campaigns to make Psychonauts 2 a playable disappointment. If 2015 has shown me anything, it is that another major crash needs to happen. Instead of taking the middle market down, I hope to god it destroys most of the AAA industry and "professional" gaming journalism. The only way to save this industry it to clean away the filth and that is going to take a major fire to cleanse this disgusting and corrupt industry.
Eagerly awaiting the top whatever arbitrary number Triumphs of 2015. However, I understand if you can't find enough content to fill a top three video for last year
6:14 Well Pandemic bit the dust but maybe Free Radical can pick up the slack alongside Lucasarts and...aw crap that’s right Lucasarts got impatient and threw them to Crytek while they themselves went bust releasing a shitty Star Wars Kinect game.
Is anyone else fed up with comments along the lines of;"I played the Witcher games. For the first time I belong to something. Now its my turn to exclude people."
It's fair to say that the Order 1886 would have gotten lost in the shuffle of launch era titles for the 360 & PS3. You know, like, ... uh... that one grey-brown game where you throw a shuriken into lightning. And, ..., uh, that one grey-brown game where your suit can move time backward. In other words, it's going to be a game that in a few years will start being referred to as "um, ...that one game".
If I may make a humble suggestion, Razor... Have you ever thoughts of doing a top 5 Worst Gaming Companies of Modern Times list? I'm willing to bet trying to denote exactly which company is worse than another would be a VERY difficult undertaking. There are many, many similarities between them, to be sure, but you clearly have a thing for ones like EA who buy out game developers and then ruin them entirely. Hmmmm.... On second thought, maybe the list should be the Top 5 Developers EA Fucked Over. Because at this point, there's no shortage of candidates to choose from. Anyway, just a couple of suggestions for possible future videos.
Sounds nitpicky, but the first 30 minutes of The Order, I actually spent going around saying "we don't have those in the UK", "Those are American versions of them". then pondering why London is full of fire hydrants and apartment fire escapes.

Off topic, but I'm with you 110% on Silent Hill 4. That game has to have one of the most unfair negative stigmas in all of gaming.

Ah Razorfist. You had me at "Faster than Steve Shives on a block button". Instant like.
Inquisition are in my opinion one of the best metal bands going right now. Everything about them is just incredible.
Don't see you in my sub feed nearly enough. Keep on truckin' Rageaholic! Also you're the man for using VGM from Jurassic Park SNES.
+MadNES Scrolled to see if anyone else caught that. :D
Brutal game as a kid, the music is burned into memory.
Razorfist... YOU ARE three personalities I follow all rolled into Razorfist. Exceptional videos. Subscribed.
+DarkFlice Even Xenoblade Chronicles X was overrated though.
Hovis Steve Still better than Fallout 4.
+TyranusRex721 Fair dues.
Nicely done. Very eloquent speaking you got there :)
you should have about 250k subs... your channel is top shelf, bro
Gunnar Hansen also died in 2015.... :(
Great video Razorfist, keep up the fantastic amazing work :)
You just gotta love Razörfist. He never fails to deliver something so edgy, you'll cut your finger by clicking on it. Putting MGSV on the top 5 turds list, never mind #2 on the list. He truly lives up to his name.
*****
Hey hey hey - no need to get aggressive.
Was that the elevator music from SNES Jurassic Park? Class game.
Poor, poor Shives. He'll never be the same again.
love your videos as always. appreciate the time you take editing as well :)
EA Battlefront clearly suffered from being post-Lucas. The first two were these insanely geeky games with everything possible thrown into them, then the whole Expanded Universe gets thrown away. At the very least, they were going to have to scale everything way back.
"2015 was the year indie broke out and triple A broke down." ...you sir, get a like for that line alone.
the saddest thing is, I know somebody that liked the order 1886
I see those poor fuckers pop up occasionally, I think it's a sort of abused spouse kind of thing, that or they don't want to admit they sunk so much faith into a game that turned out to be shit.
+trahapace150 Behold the aspergers laden creep, who due to being shunned out of social gatherings, has divined it normal and acceptable to compare video games to spousal abuse.
i'm sure you're swimming in friends pal.
+James Thomas stop using aspergers as an insulting comparison.
+bigbardos Why is that sad? If someone enjoys a game, isn't that good? Does it make it bad when you disagree with their opinion of it?
bruce livingston
because , like I imagined, that person has never played better games like "uncharted", "gears of war", "spec ops the line", "GTA5", "putting your dick in a toster", the game has good ideas , great potential and gorgeous graphics, but it wasted it all, you varely get to use the creative weapons, the level and enemy design is the most basic I have ever seen , the stroy is simple but tries to sound complex with too much dialogue.
+SCP-1048 Builder Bear Oh yeah, Evolve, more like DE-volve. $150 for the full game? Fuck you Turtle Rock Studios!!!
Love your videos, have been binge watching them hard, so funny and clever! God FUCKING SPEED!
Your rants remind me of duckman's rants. This is a compliment.
My ex wife bought me the order. Should have took that as a sign lol
Just "How?"
I couldn't have said it better myself.
People who constantly complain about bad games: **Immediately rushes out to buy another game from the developers and publishers that screwed them other last time...*
Me: *"DiD i EvEr TeLl YoU tHe DeFiNiTiOn Of InSaNiTy?"*
HELL YEAH! UNTIL YAWN IS IN HERE! 😃👍 GREAT JOB RAGE!
Oh my god I almost dropped a lung with that cannon films career joke good lord.
Shit's FUCKING hilarious.
2015 was just the finger. in 2016, get ready for the whole fist!
Love the use of MMX3. Never would've expected that for this entry. Love it.
ShadowChozo Yeah, you'd think people would be starting to catch on by now.
+Darkly Tranquil please explain (bullet points will do). I have been thinking of pre-ordering this as a birthday present for someone and would rather avoid wasting my money if it is going to be bad.
+ShadowChozo HEY! HEY! HEY!
I liked Fable
Love the Mega Man X2 style menu, the memories...
Cyberpunk 2077 has proven that people haven't learned even a little bit...
the eloquent vulgarity you lace into every sentence is just impeccable XD
I guess it's weird that I enjoyed Arkham Knight - and Mad Max.
No question they both had problems though.
Krispy Kreme just opened a branch in my city, so I'm watching Razorfist with a hot and fresh doughnut and a few big dabs. Could life get better? I think not.
+VerbatimBlowJ - Could it get better? Only if it was Dunkin Donuts, instead.
What the? I used to respect your opinions, but it's obvious from your doughnut preference that was a mistake. Kiss this subscriber goodbye you Dunkin Donuts desiring douche-dog.
2015 took way too many great musical geniuses from us, and 2016 is already off to a terrible start
Of course more people notice the big turds the industry has brought us, since, like actual turds, their smell is more invasive and pushes others aside.
bloodborne isn a turd.
or i missread again lol.
mortal kombat dived head first in to price gouging with those pay fatalities, and extra skins, and I don't know if blood borne is really triple A.
+darklord884 *Open-world. Typo.
Oops."
2016 had even more celebrity deaths.
2015 was a turd in all front except for maybe 4 games. xenoblade x, bloodborne, splatoon and freedom planet.
Still better than 2014 was, less glitchfests, more indie titles
vcom741 no, it made 2014 look good. true 2015 didn't have tons glitches like 14 but that's because we got less games than 2014 in general and the games were too simplify to cause tons of glitches.
+vcom741 that's kind of like saying eating a shit sandwich is better when you eat one with cheese. 2015 was shit with cheese...but still shit.
557deadpool super smash is a 2014 game. not counting it as 2015, as much as i want to.
+Sckarton I would personally put quite a few more games onto the good list, but Freedom Planet was Fucking Fantastic!!!
What a salt mine.
Bravo on the MegaMan X2 work!
Even used the elevator music from Jurassic Park SNES. Awesome.
Hughes/Thrall was awesome.
I like how he mentioned Danger Close being disbanded because EA disentegrated the Medal of Honor franchise and it wasn't supposed to launch the way it did it 2011
OMG the Nick Cage desktop pic with the internet explorer icons killed me.
This video is just superb
I don't agree with your politics (your taste in music is excellent, however) but you are so articulate! Keep making awesome videos.
Yep. Good list. Couldn't agree more.
2015 also took from us Monty Oum.
you've got incredible one liners man.
haha big shock here another awesome and true video by razor thanks man :)
Damn it Razorfist, you just had to remind us of the deaths of our favorite celebrities. :'(
At least we got Bloodborne in 2015. I'm still playing that game to this day.
Will there be a top good games of 2015?
That's pretty good. I personally enjoyed Until Dawn but I will admit there were things about it that disappointed me. I played it once through but I sold it right after. Good video.
Know what I loved about The Order? When I kept hearing people talking about how amazing the previews were and my response was always "What was so amazing about it? It was just a cutscene?"
Seriously, I'm not sure if they EVER showed an actual GAMEPLAY trailer with gameplay in it which is why I never bothered with it. I guess the trailers were an accurate representation of the game.
This video has an impressive meme density, almost mlg 420 noscope tier.
Oh man, that was great stuff!
"...like Steve Shives on a block button." LMAO
I lost it at "Frame Rate of a Flip Book"
+TyranusRex721 To me 2015 was a GREAT year in gaming.
Since Steam and GOG had many really good old titles on sale that I couldn't play in a while.
I think Halo 5 is really fun but I have to admit the campaign was a bit disappointing
Eagerly awaiting the top whatever arbitrary number Triumphs of 2015. However, I understand if you can't find enough content to fill a top three video for last year
The game industry is terrible. Love you dude!
Love that intro with Inquisition!
Nice list and video. What would consider a top 5/great games from 2015?
6:14 Well Pandemic bit the dust but maybe Free Radical can pick up the slack alongside Lucasarts and...aw crap that’s right Lucasarts got impatient and threw them to Crytek while they themselves went bust releasing a shitty Star Wars Kinect game.
MGS 5 was so fucking fun to play though, I spent so much time just playing around in the missions. And Quiet was hot.
Is anyone else fed up with comments along the lines of;"I played the Witcher games. For the first time I belong to something. Now its my turn to exclude people."
Found you from your daredevil review
Your great
Oh yeah, the year we lost Iwata and I didn't want to remember Nimoy being dead.
Good review, full of truth. Curious what inspired the Tubman joke? Really wanna like it but I dont get inspiration.
For some reason, I was expecting razorfist to add undertale to this list. But the list didn't disappoint, though.
