Carla, I love that you revisit your guests to continue the process of downsizing. I love Gabby's apartment. Thanks Gabby for inviting us over once again.
I too lost my mom. I was 22 years old. I held on to EVERYTHING. 3 years ago I moved into my own place after years of roommates. I realized I didn't even know what was in the boxes anymore and that if I hadn't used it in 20 years I wouldn't miss it. I kept pictures and the items that held real sentimental ties and the rest had to go. I felt my mom would rather me be happy with less clutter than unhappy with all her stuff. It was part of the healing process is how I saw it.
I lost my fiance suddenly 6 months before our wedding and held on to as much of his things as possible. It was only years later when my Dad passed away, also suddenly, that l saw my mum only kept his jewellery (even that was a handful of items) and his wallet. I asked her why so little, and she replied that these are only things. I have my memories, and although he may not be with me physically, he lives in my heart now. It was then l realised l could say goodbye to his things and would not miss them because he wasn't present in that stuff, but in me xx
@amekaur1926 Amen. I am not even attached to pictures anymore because when I close my eyes I see years of pictures and memories and feelings and experiences and those you can never take away. 🩷💚
Thank you for doing these videos. I have sent 13 bags to the vets. Clothes from when my grandkids were little and clothes I no longer I can fit. I feel you are helping all the women who are in the same boat and giving us a reason to get rid of things we nolonger need. Thank you for your videos. And keep them coming.
I love this dynamic between you and gabby.. you’re so tender with her emotions but firm with her decisions. I also feel like you and gabby are going to be friends when she’s finished decluttering.
I inherited my Dads jewelry box when he passed at the age of 54. It took me 23 years before I was able to go through it and use the money that was stored in there and sell off some old, broken gold pieces that he had been saving up. He made the box as well, which made it even harder to deal with. I still have not finished.
Shoe storage idea. Could Gaby find a wheeled plastic tote that would slide under the chaise/seat thing in the background? You could fit one layer of shoes like a big drawer under there, so easy to pull out and put things away. A second one under the red dresser for taller heels would work as well. Easy to see them all at once. If you prefer them hidden get a solid colour one or paint the outside of the front in a pretty colour
Absolutely,I’m only six minutes in and I’m screaming at the screen,”WE DONT CARE ABOUT THE BACK STORY ON EVERY SINGLE ITEM!” ( If I was helping,I’d have to shut that down IMMEDIATELY!) Good for you,Carla!😵💫
@@lauramitchell6725 I guess it's part of their journey, a way to declutter emotionally. When I had my decluttering awakening, I didn't have that emotional attachment to things, so I can't sympathize in any way. But I've helped others, and I witnessed firsthand other people's struggles. To me it's just stuff, while to others it's like they are holding a piece of their life in their hands.
I just love how your videos are full of satisfying decluttering inspiration, but also so well produced and often have these moments of deep meaning and emotion to them. ♥
I am decluttering my closet right now. Carla..watching your videos while I work is like having a best friend right here helping me. Thank you for all you do. Good job Gabby!! 🙏🏽💕
My son shamed me into decluttering my pantry. He started half and I helped. Then later I did the other half. Goodness, it makes me feel so free and clear! My mind is so clear! Carla, you wouldn’t believe how much I got rid of. All the empty bottles and jars, boxes, out of date food stuffs. I had to use a car to take the trash to the dump spot, too, too, too much to carry by hand….
Would definitely recommend getting a queen bed with built in under storage for small spaces! Or just a regular queen bed that's higher off the ground with lots of under space. Love watching these videos!
I still have a twin bed at 24, and have been looking for a bigger bed. I want something with a head and footboard, plus drawers underneath for storage.
I would feel immense gratitude if I had Carla or someone just as wonderful as her helping me on my decluttering journey. Sometimes you just need someone to guide you through it. After spending almost 23 years with my husband and now adult son, we’ve collected so much clutter. The saying “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure” or vice versa really happens a lot in our family. What my husband and son treasure I just want to declutter. If only they would realize how decluttering brings so much clarity. For me I know it would lessen my anxiety. Although I’m making baby steps sometimes I feel like I’ve done nothing. I love watching this series as it’s nice to see at least some people are making progress.🥰 EDIT…..I’ve actually been married 35 years but living 23 in our current home.🥰

I don't even live with my boyfriend yet and has been to his house only twice, and the clutter stresses me out. He does have hoarding tendencies (keeps plastic fast food cups because he feels bad about throwing them away after one use) and has books in three different rooms. The books are all in bookshelves, but not organized by author or anything (One of my things is book organization so it bother me to see a book on glaciers next to a book by Bob Dylan)
That moment.. ❤️ with her thanking her shoes for everything they taught her and remembering how much she’s grown and been through. I’m glad you told her, she can let them go, move forward. New things are coming, positive new energy in! 😊 ❤ I love your videos. Thank you. So peaceful and positive.
So cute!! I love that she is making use of under-bed storage. Now she can go up and use the walls to display loved items like mom’s jackets and the cool backpack. She’s can be displayed as well. 👍
Awe, Carla you are so sweet to every person you help. You are a treasure! Gabby- thanks for being vulnerable and having us back in your home. My heart broke when you started crying over your mom, sending you love!
I can't possibly have a favorite decluttering video of yours, but something about you two working together just resonates. Shades of going through my Mom's apartment, many times of moving and starting over, working through the layers of life.❤❤❤
It is amazing to listed to you both talk about why you are keeping something or donating it. Helpful to see Gabby talk through it. I just donated the outfit I wore to my father’s funeral. He passed 10.5 years ago today. With those items, it is all about when you are comfortable with letting it go. Not something that should be forced. More happy energy to Gabby.
Consider displaying some of those purses and backpacks on a wall. Utilize them as art. They are beautiful and it gets them out of storage leaving room for other storable items.
I held on to some of my mom's clothes. I have finally let go of 99 percent of them in the last couple of years. I have many things to remind me of my mom. Yes, I get Gabby's hesitation to let go.
Dear Carla, I have followed your videos from the start. You have really inspired and motivated me. You are caring, creative and people-oriented. Your videos have changed a lot in my life and I'm glad I found them by accident. I wish you the best and if you ever come to Oslo you are most welcome.

I love Gabby's enegry and I feel like all the people you work with are so nice, you vibe so well with them! I think she did great, she really didn't have that much stuff but her space is small so even getting rid of a couple of bags makes a big difference. Hey C, I can see how much easier decluttering is when you have someone non judgemental around. I wish you were near by but unfortunately I'm all the way in Brooklyn NY.
I totally relate to items inherited from our parents. When I decluttered my mother's clothes, I had donated a sweater of hers that had beadwork on the front, and I was really on the fence about donating it, but I decided to just do it. Months later, I went browsing at Goodwill and came across my mother's sweater. I started crying and almost bought it back. I didn't, but I left the store because I was a tearful mess and didn't return to that particular store for years. I say if you're on the fence about something, KEEP IT, because you can always change your mind later.

Gabby, I really feel for you when it comes to your Mom’s things. I lost my Mom 37 years ago and I currently only own photos and one pair of earrings. It took me so long to decide on what I wanted to hold on to. I’m in no way suggesting you get rid of your Mom’s things but what I will suggest is keep them all together in their own bin. It’s a great way to revisit her and feel her presence whenever you’re inclined. #motherlessdaughters ❤❤❤🥰
Sorry about your mum Gabby. My parents are elderly and I am starting to experience anticipatory grief. I feel good seeing you hold on to some things related to your mum even if you don’t use them. We all grieve in our own way in our own time. 💞
Especially with a pet, it makes a home SO MUCH cleaner to store fewer things under beds. I have allergies, and two cats!!, and have been working this year to reduce the amt I store under our beds. It's been a huge game changer :)
I’m only 5 minutes in and Gabby looks like such a pro at declutterring! It’s crazy how once someone is mentally ready to let go, there is such a shift!
The loss of a parent and dealing with memories attached to things they bought you or had really struck a chord with me…I lost my mom over a year ago and though it was easy to part with things she hadn’t worn in a long time, I’m glad I kept a few things of hers that fit my style. The hardest thing is giving up things she bought me, like even silly little t shirts. And the clothes I remember her wearing at her best growing up. My parents entire house is pretty much all her even after a heavy declutter, what we kept is everything she chose. We are blessed in that aspect. Take all the time you need for those items, you may find over time you see more of her in the memories of experiences with her, the people she helped create like your family, more than the things ❤
May I suggest you use those fancy microphones you showed in another video. You two speak so quickly and the camera is too far away to pick up the sound clearly, even the subtitles didn't quite work because of that. As much as I love your vids, this one was a struggle.
@@lunagabriella213 I've been following Carla since the beginning, it's really the first time the sound was a challenge, being two people speaking quickly, on top of each other. Also keep in mind that not everyone is a native speaker.
Wonder if she gets those cloth or plastic rolling storage bins under her bed for shoes if that would be more helpful. Definitely if she can splurge and get a bed frame with storage it would be so helpful, her space really just lacks fuctional storage solutions.
Happy birthday dear Carla! Thank you for being the beautiful you that you are! May you be healthy, happy and free! Love you xx p.s. Not that long ago I was thinking that I fear the day that I'll have finished all of your videos, haha! I think it's just one or two more to go 😄 You're the best! Enjoy your day! 💐♥️🎉
Maybe it would be helpful for Gabby to have a designated "maybe" bin under her bed. If she hasn't thought about the items in 6 months then it's likely she doesn't need them.
So nice to hear Buy Nothing. It's great for giving a huge variety of stuff including clothing, ipad covers and even random cables. I love that it's hyper local so that pickups are much easier.
I wish I could send you to my sister in ventura specifically for her books but she is definitely not ready to let go. She hasn't read in over a year but is still buying. I know it's a comfort for her but I also no it's taking over the apt 😢
Well done to ye both. Considering it was only an hour some amount of stuff left. Well done to Gabby to continue decluttering on her own, those decluttering muscles are getting stronger 💪 Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 👏👏💪👍🙏💐🐶
Love Gabby and her authenticity! Hoping for a great apartment that fits her vision. But also love that she isn't waiting and trying to make her current space fit her energy better. I don't know why, but this episode left me emotional.
Love to see the spaces that were decluttered and organized in past videos (see background) are still looking good! I noticed Gabby's decision making skills are getting faster and more confident. I find 10 things per day that can go. Of course one can do 10 things per week or one thing per day. It takes 15 minutes max. Decluttering that way doesn't feel like a burden. A little every day makes a difference in the end. One I get my house "under control" I'll move to 1 thing per day.
The photo album brought tears to my eyes. Your friend is doing a great job! I've become really good at decluttering, but I still wish I knew you in real life. I know we would have many laughs together! -Lety from Chicago
Gabby is making so much progress with her "decluttering muscles"...you can see how much easier it is becoming for her to let go. Once you feel the mental and physical "spaciousness" that decluttering brings, that Gabby mentions, it starts to get so much easier.
Carla, I love that you revisit your guests to continue the process of downsizing. I love Gabby's apartment. Thanks Gabby for inviting us over once again.

May I suggest you use those fancy microphones you showed in another video. You two speak so quickly and the camera is too far away to pick up the sound clearly, even the subtitles didn't quite work because of that. As much as I love your vids, this one was a struggle.
I use ear phones and haven't had an issue. It's a transition, but it's worth getting used to!
@@lunagabriella213 I've been following Carla since the beginning, it's really the first time the sound was a challenge, being two people speaking quickly, on top of each other. Also keep in mind that not everyone is a native speaker.
So much done. Yay.
Great amount decluttered in a short space of time ❤
Well done girls. Love your videos. Take care from Sweden❤
My favourite girls!! So happy this popped up today.xx
Gabby you are doing such an amazing job. Thank you for sharing this with us
I love watching this declutter! Gabby is the greatest next to you of coarse 😂
Love you xx
p.s. Not that long ago I was thinking that I fear the day that I'll have finished all of your videos, haha! I think it's just one or two more to go 😄
You're the best!
Enjoy your day!
💐♥️🎉
Maybe it would be helpful for Gabby to have a designated "maybe" bin under her bed. If she hasn't thought about the items in 6 months then it's likely she doesn't need them.
Omgosh! She did so well! Decluttering muscles are getting stronger! 💖
So nice to hear Buy Nothing. It's great for giving a huge variety of stuff including clothing, ipad covers and even random cables. I love that it's hyper local so that pickups are much easier.
Something is better than nothing and the way you did this there wasn't a big mess to deal with when you ran out of time!
Step one - make the bed!😅
Anyway that is where I would start in my ever so humble opinion. 😂 Great job!
This was wonderful. You really are helping each other. 💜
Love Gabby and her authenticity! Hoping for a great apartment that fits her vision. But also love that she isn't waiting and trying to make her current space fit her energy better. I don't know why, but this episode left me emotional.
Curious about her red dresser drawers? Have they been done?
When are you going to get to Gabby's adorable kitchen?!
I’m so glad y’all decluttered even though only a small amount of time available. Carla I could watch you all the time. 😊❤😊
If you able to declutter when Carla comes over, tell her to come over to my house. 🤣
Why do I love this so much? Awesome video!❤
