What is really impressive to me about the way you help people with their stuff is that you ask good questions to help the person make decisions but you never make the decisions FOR them and you are never judgmental about the decisions they make.
I agree. Carla's always so patient and respectful, even with horders( like my hubby). 😂
Paper stuff is overwhelming. When I was moving in retirement everything that was paper from anywhere in the house went into two plastic totes. Every evening I would reach in, fill a little basket and sit and sort through it. I felt energized when the first tote was gone and when the second one was empty I almost felt sad, I was so used to doing it every evening!!! Now I only allow paper things in one little desk and I tidy it every month.

I kept every paper for years. When we downsized in retirement we burned 12 contractor bags of old papers! We moved 4 tubs full, and I'm trying to work up the courage to purge them.

I know! People put basically nothing in a frame and hang it on the wall, but the treasures are in a box.

What’s so fantastic about declutterring is that now that their space is organized the little declutter bug will continue and become easier and she’ll eventually have the most magical homey apartment that will greatly improve her life!

Such a sweet and sensitive soul Gabby is. You guys did a lot there and if Gabby ever wants to go for the second round, it will be much easier now. One thing I have learnt over the years living with stuff is to use taller storage furniture - as tall as it will fit and/or look good - because it's already taking that square footage on the floor. Having short shelves doesn't give you enough for organized space. Amazing job you guys and it looks so much better!! 💖

I could relate to all the little treasures! They are SO important to me.....cards, notes, old pictures, crystals.......I just try to keep them sorted. As a notebook junkie, I can relate to that also. Lovely video!

My last apartment was 325 square feet. It was cluttered and I needed storage for all the extra junk. I had wanted to start decluttering but that was the push I needed. The blessing of living in a small space is it forces you to really figure out what is important to you and what is not. Love the video as always!
Somewhere on minute 21, after Carla's showing all the different tiny boxes, next there's a shot of Gabby, and the music started... she's going through some papers, and there's no voices, just music, and Gabby on this shot is so beautiful, so vulnerable somehow - and so strong at the same time. It takes great courage to show the whole world your apartment, all your stuff and all the mess. Honestly, I teared up a bit, this felt such a powerful moment. Thank you, ladies, for all your work, your thoughts and your energy. I can't say this enough, but Carla is indeed my comfort youtuber, I wait patiently for each new video and those just made my days. I try to go through paper clutter regularly, but it was a huge job when I was establishing a system that is ~still~ a work in progress. It's so hard that paper clutter is usually mixed in with sentimental clutter, and in a small space, it can be really difficult to implement systems to organize it all. Great work and just try to keep up on recycling paper and putting it away regularly

I think I'd be inclined to put the table under the window so she could look out while at her desk, it would also make it seem like she was in another room if her back was to the kitchen - just a thought but Wow! what a great job you both did!

Such a cute little cabinet for the Tarot cards ! And a cute little desk nook too. I really like that there was that little storage area built in for the journals and books. It doesn't seem like they make little areas like that now days. I hope you two decide to the do the kitchen next because those are my favorite declutters. There might be a reason why she is keeping the green sofa section, but I feel like it would really open up her space if she removed it, She could either leave it open or put in something that could give her more storage space with a lesser depth.

I absolutely despise paperwork so I put it away in boxes, hidden. Junk mail is easy,, that gets tossed or put in recycling right away. I need to watch the video now.💛🙂

Carla you are so patient, kind and understanding of the people you help! Paper clutter is the most frustrating! Add to that a small space to contain all the treasures! Purging and only keeping what is most valuable takes a lot of decision making without second guesses! My husband and I raised our 3 daughters in a small home with limited space for storage, so I had to be creative from the beginning. One item I still find space saving and offers a lot of storage are hanging shoe organizers! Toiletries in bathrooms or office or craft supplies.❤

I’m a new subscriber and I have been for about three months. I have watched all of your videos more than once and I really like all of your content but I really enjoy your content when you clean and Declutter your house and run errands. It’s so nice to see you help people and free their lives but for some reason I look forward to your other videos so much. At least, this lady that you are helping is doing work. I noticed some of your videos people will just sit and let you do the cleaning and moving and lifting. That literally drives me crazy because I don’t feel like that’s your responsibility to do all of that but because you’re so kind you do it and maybe you like it lol I think you said you like doing it so that’s not a problem but when I watch it, I think to myself that person is just making Carla do all the work lol But thank you for everything you do. Thank you for getting me through some of my rough days because you inspire me.

I am working on sentimental items currently. I just finished the last of my clothes, again. Had a lot of pictures, but I went through and tossed the bad ones and sent good copies to other family members. Wish she had an air cleaner to run in her space since y’all stirred up a lot of dust.

😅 I just started the video, and I wanted to share that what helped me the most with pictures and papers was and is creating a boundary for each of them. I've got medium sized zippered plastic pouches that some kind of bedding sets came in, and I use those. 1 for stuffed animals, 1 for pictures/cards/etc, and 1 waterproof and fireproof thinner pouch for my papers. I accumulated more papers after having to go to the ER a couple times, so that needs to be gone through..but that's it. You all can do it if you need to be that minimal. I've moved too many times to care about keeping more than a minimal amount.
