  • 99% of the vinyl I use on my channel is Specialty Materials Brands I have tried many kinds over the years, and they are my absolute favorite. The quality is top-notch, I have a video where I wash a shirt 50 times, and the vinyl still looks brand new. • Thermoflex vs. Siser: ... They have the most extensive range of products and colors around ( there are over 90 colors in the ThermoFlex Plus and GlitterFlex Ultra lines alone). They also offer free product samples on their website, which you don’t see anymore. Trust me, request a sample because if you try it, you will know why I love it.

    Thank you for trying this! I would love to see you try the black DTF transfer powder and the DTF film on a darker colored cotton shirt. I have not found a tutorial on this hack using the black powder on dark colored shirts. I'm so happy to see Craftsmas again!! Love you, Becky!!!

      This works on both light and dark shirts. I just choose this color because it looked best with the design

    • @CuttinCornersVinyl

      The black would best if you were doing single color dark design only the white powder gives it some color for the background

    That looks amazing!! So I see you taped it to a 13X19 sheet of paper, but you didn't show it printing in the printer. Did you cut the 13X19 paper down to match the 11X17?

    Is the film too thin to go through the printer by itself?

      Yes, and it's also very slick. This is what work best for my printer .there might be a difference with other printers

    This hack only works with white or very pale colors , the DTF printer has 2 whites which are needed for dark color shirts without the 2 white inks the colors will not show up , that is the reason nobody is posting videos of dark colors on this hack.

    Is dtf powder a way to put a sublimated design on a non polyester shirt? Since you still had to use sublimation ink?

    Have you tried to use dtf to sublimate on a cake box? Would that work or is there another way to sub a cardboard cake box? Thanx for the info.

      Why do you want to sublimate it? You could print sticker sheets to accomplish the same effect (unless I am missing something of course :) )

    Your shirt looks so nice. I have tried this with a different brand of powder and don't get consistent results, the image comes out grainy sometimes but never as good as yours. Do you know why it would cause it to be grainy? I cure it first for 8 minutes at 250 per the directions, and also peel it hot. If I wait for it to cool, it really sticks to the fabric,

    • @CuttinCornersVinyl
      @CuttinCornersVinyl  2 роки тому +1

      I’m not sure but when I tried heating it I didn’t think it came out as vibrant and I wasn’t a fan of the results.

  • @kathyshorter8150
    @kathyshorter8150 2 роки тому

    That is so pretty. Did you have to heat the DTF? I saw a tutorial that after the powder is put on the design the film was put on the heat press to let it set before putting the design on the shirt. I didn't see any difference in the end result between yours and theirs.. Your's looks just as good. I am so glad you made this tutorial. I didn't want to go through all the hassle of heating and all that. I think I'm going to give it a try! You're the best.

    • @CuttinCornersVinyl
      @CuttinCornersVinyl  2 роки тому

      I didn’t heat before hand because I didn’t see a difference when I did. I actually feel like for me personally it lost some vibrancy when washing. When I heated it first

    Thank you for this! I tried this hack only once so far. I did this process very similar to what you did. I did heat or bake the transfer under my platten until the powder crystalized. Let it cool and then transferred it on my T-shirt.
