Nice tut scavanger of human sorrow, so please a question ¿How u can turn of no make emission over other materials or floor? just wanna see the lines without the emission force, some help can be nice! amazing channel! thanks.

      Thank you!
I cannot use Octane at the moment to test it but I'm afraid it's not possible in Octane directly, due to it's unbiased nature.
However if you're using post-production, like After Effects or Fusion, you can just render out a seperate pass just for the holograms alone (using object tag) and layer it ontop the rest of your render.

Hey man! how are you? Just wondering if you know how to create a projection light for the hologram? Like in star wars movie you know, the light coming out of some object to project that hologram.

      In C4D+Octane obviously

Hey man, as always I guess there are different approaches.
      1) You could use some kind of volumetric spotlight. Use noise to make it look less uniform.
      2) For light-streaks you could also try and use a MoGraph-Cloner with a bunch a long and thin cubes. Make them all emerge from on point, kind of like a bouqet of flowers. Then shade them with emission and gradients to make it look like very sharp light or laser streaks.

Do you know how to do this in normal c4d render? :D :D

Yes there's actually a Tutorial on that on my channel!
Just check for "hologram" and "standard renderer" :)

    please share project file. thanks.

The project as a whole is the result of several days on tinkering in C4D and especially Python to get the Multi-IK working, so I hope you understand that I don't really wanna just share it.
But if it helps I could share an example-scene with just the hologram-shader or make another tutorial on rigging a robot. What are you interested in?

@@ironscavenger I understand. just share texture?
