Yeah, that's actually the challenge of new bookkeepers: finding clients. Because clients prefer someone with relevant experience, at least a year, so unpaid internship or on the job training really is the only way to land a contract since we're dealing with financial statements and not just data entry.
Well if you’re confident in your skills then fabricate your experience. as long as you’re confident in your skills if you’re not confident in your skills and you’ve never done it before you better get some previous training
Glad there are channels like these giving detailed info for specific fields. I appreciate your work and it is helping me plan my future path as a remote bookkeeper!
Hi Moshe! You can definitely start your own bookkeeping business on the side after hours. This could be a good way to jump start your own bookkeeping business as your full time career. Krista (FinePoints Admin)
If you don’t have the previous knowledge of bookkeeping then……Get proper training!!!! you absolutely cannot be a bookkeeper without taking some sort of accounting classes you need a college accounting class and you need a QuickBooks class minimum to start doing anything. anybody who tells you it’s OK to start a bookkeeping business or anything to do with bookkeeping without the proper schooling and knowledge is lying and this is not anything to be taking lately you’re messing with peoples finances you better know what you’re doing people
Hey, 🖐 just want to know that who need bookkeeper? Can't they just go to accounting companies that will do bookkeeping for them along with full fledged accounting?
My current workload is skewed because I spend about half of my (part-time) schedule on UA-cam, but historically as a bookkeeper I have 3-7 clients and work 2 days a week. I don't have a set schedule at the moment (in part b/c of my kids' school being at home in 2020), so I work a bit sporadically--but eventually I'd like to track my time more carefully and do a video about how I spend my time.
I think it's possible, and I bet people do. Probably depends on your personality and how much you charge. You could ask on a bookkeeper Facebook group to see other examples. Have you seen my video about earning 100K (or your income goal)? ua-cam.com/video/pePJ-WAHvVA/v-deo.html Pair that with my video about small/med/large clients to get a better idea. ua-cam.com/video/8A877-pVRKA/v-deo.html Hope that helps!
Hi Morgan, I love love love your videos! Please keep it up! I would like to get your expert opinion on the following, do I need to have a business set up in order to provide bookkeeping services? My focus is on bookkeeping as a side job, at least at the beginning, to provide services as an individual contractor (not a DBA). I would file my income for tax purposes and pay my dues quarterly. From your experience, what would you say?
Did these things take more or less time than you expected?
Yes I procrastinated and took me 10 months to start but your videos helped me get started
I'm glad!
About the getting started, not the procrastination. :)

It's a perfect side hustle!
Do you offer taxes as well ?
I don't personally, but it's definitely something that goes hand-in-hand with bookkeeping if you want to learn it.

Hi Morgan! I'm John from the Philippines. My Sister and I wanted to be a bookkeeper. Do we need to enroll separately on your program? Thank you!
If you have no experience or education in bookkeeping, will bookkeeper launch teach you all you need to know?
Yes! It's designed to start at the very beginning.
I found accounting to coach to be a good source I use it for my MBA accounting classes
