  • Apologies for the partial screen on this video! I’m baffled as I didn’t flip my phone differently and had it in my mini tripod as usual! But hopefully it’s still a helpful discussion on root health, potential problems to look for etc.

    Thank you so much for this video. You definitely saved my Lithops!!
    I was give 10 yearlings in a swap and it’s the first time I’ve had them, she had told me she hadn’t watered them and was told not to water till spring and the more I looked online the more I found lots of people saying the same. Then I found your video after 4weeks and now after a 1week I have new roots 😍 and they are looking a lot better 👍
    Thank you again for the UK 🖤

    I have done this before. There is option on iMovie where you literary with fingers turn it toward left and it will become horizontal and fill the screen. So if it happens again it’s fixable. Rotation is possible on the iMovie with iPhone.

      Succulent Living by Marija, thank you! I nearly drove myself mad trying to figure out what happened! And I couldn’t find any options for flipping it in IMovie, but now that I know from you there is an option to flip it, I will go back and try to figure it out, that way if this happens again I can fix it! 💗

    Hi Ashley, why do lithops loose their roots????

    Can I ask, if my lithops have a soft base due to being accidentally uprooted in a highly humid and rainy night, is it still able to save it?

    Ok you live up North. How do you keep your living stones getting enough light? Mine got mushy. He got a little brown on him and felt a little soft. I waited four month then finally freaked out and gave him a drink (1 Teaspoon size) and then he swelled up and turned to mush. He was not splinting at all. I think he wasn't getting enough light then the water put him over the edge. Any suggestions? I bought a new one and I am trying again.

    Hello Ashley, One of my lithops’ root fell off while I was trimming it. Is he a goner? What can I do to revive it?. Thx Debbie

      Dominic Phan-Romero I wouldn’t panic yet. If it has any root at all, or even the root base it can grow more roots. I would replant and give it a few months and see! 🥰

    Could you tell please what is the best way to germinate lithops ans Conophytum seed?

      @phileofarm1  6 років тому +1

      Honestly I have been able to experiment enough to have much at all to share yet. I’ve primarily focused on cuttings and division with these guys. But I do have a bunch of seeds waiting for me to feel well enough to plant them all up in different mediums and compare and take notes. And when I do that I will certainly share! But right now most of my knowledge is book knowledge on germinating mesemb seeds, so I can’t really advise on what the “best” way is. I know some things that didn’t work well or that I don’t like, and a few that work better, but I need to practice on a few hundred so I can actually have a lot of things happen and try different things. But when I’m feeling well enough to start some trays this year, I’ll try to share along as I go, what works and doesn’t. 😊
