and this is how all rig rundowns should be done! you're truely a wizard (and master of karate and friendship for everyone)
Absolutely awesome, thank you
you are quite welcome!
Thanks for sharing this. I have been s dry tone only played for years, and now am wanting to add some textures. So this was a great intro to pedals tutorial for me.
This is exactly why I made it! May continue to serve the Bass community as we search for new sounds
Well this was fun
Hey thanks man!
Wow, where has this channel been all my life!?! Bro, best gear rundown ever! Being a bass player, this was a treat! I’m happy to see another bass player use two amps like me. 😂
Yo! So glad you dig it homie! Really happy that bassists are connecting to it. We're all in the same boat. Keep the inspiration flowing! Cheers.
Super cool! thanks for making and sharing!
Thanks for checking it out!
Great!
Did not know this man nor his band...!
But I’ll be checking them out.
Great!
🖖
Thank you!! 💪🎛️💪
OH COOL!
freakin' love you man
Dude, VERY cool! Also, killer bass and playing.
Thanks so much, Scott! Glad you dig! Appreciate you. Sereks RULE.
yes excellent time to go get some pedals
COLMAN RULES
It's all in the bass 🧙♂️
Awesome run down! Thanks for sharing your palette of sonic wizardry!
Thank you for checking it out, my friend 😜
Just discovered this channel.
Really enjoyed this video: the playing and the charismatic, light-hearted discussion of your rig...
Subscribed! Gonna check out the band's music, too. Wishing all of you inspiration and great gigs!🤗
Thank you, Mark! Really appreciate the inspired well-wishes! Hope you found some pedal inspiration. I'm not too active here on YT. Instagram is more my jam. Keep up with me (@Friendshipwizard) and the band (@muscletoughband) on there! Cheers! 🤘✨
@@Colmanj86 Okay, thanks,but...YT is the only social media I bother with these days(for checking out music primarily); gave up the other "usual suspects" years ago. I'll definitely check out your music, though!
And, YES, your video has sparked some ideas, pedal-wise! Thanks!
@@markfoster_mkfbass Heard that, Mark! And great info to know. May the ideas flow!
@@Colmanj86 Thanks!
SO well done!! Love the tonezzzz
Thank you brother! You're the real tone pimp
@@Colmanj86 🧙♂🧙♂ just wizards finding new spells
This was such a pleasure to watch. Thank you! I learned a lot, and I had fun along the way. I especially enjoyed the whole tone sequence @16:09
Thank you!!! Appreciate you. It's moving in 3rds (R 3 2 #4 3 #5) in case you try to program it yourself!
Yeah man!!! Inspiring bass players everywhere
Hell yeah, Coop! From one to another!
I just got recommended this! Cya today mr Coleman!
Amazing! Always great to work with you! Full scale - Pentatonic - Arpeggio!!!
siiiiiick
Nice floating thumb technique. Very sophisticated
Thank you! I’m a big advocate of the float. It opened a lot of doors for me.
You're having way too much fun for a bass player lol! Very cool stuff! Great video too. Earned a sub with this one dude. Cheers!
Haha thanks Steve! You're absolutely right about the too much fun part. Glad you dig it! I'm not too active on YT, mainly using Instagram. Check in with me there - @Friendshipwizard 🙏
Jonathan great rundown. How do you like playing a 30.5” vs 34” bass?
Hey drew! I really prefer it at this point. SO easy to play everything. The lighter weight is liberating. I feel like I can really rip on it with no detractions. Full scale basses feel like yachts to me 🛥️🤣
Hi Johnathon
I couldn’t ascertain is the bass active ? do you use any buffer pedals to maintain your ( fantastic ) tone ?
Thankyou for the great video and music !
Passive bass with Nordstrand Zen blades. No buffers! Just clean power with proper mA matching for each pedal
rad!! is the C4 patch at 14:20 available online?
Hey! I don’t have anything uploaded but perhaps I should!
Like a modern day Doug Wimbish. What strings you rockin on the Serek?
Thanks Nick! I love Doug. He’s got ALOT of pedals 😆 I use dunlop medium scale nickel wound super brights! The strings in this video, however, are super dead 😂
truly one of the guys to ever do it. one of the musicians of all time
Can't argue with this!
Hey brotha how are ya?! Hope everything’s good! Ya know that fuzz sounds gorgeous so Ive been tryin to look around after you mentioned it’s from an Ampeg 360? I apologize for my ignorance in advance but if you or someone could please help explain what that is or why I can’t find anything about it that would be MUCH appreciated lol I checked Mesh Audio as well and I’m officially lost. Thank youuuuu
Doug! I misspoke! It’s a germanium fuzz clone modeled after the ACOUSTIC 360 style amp (like Jaco used). Mesh assembled and tweaked it but it’s a kit you can order online. I’ll see if I can dig up the link and follow back with you!
Boom. Found the kit! >>> buildyourownclone.myshopify.com/products/the-full-circle-bass-fuzz
@@Colmanj86 hahahahahahaha holy shit that’s hilarious you shoulda seen the wild goose chase I was on last night lookin for this Phantom Ampeg hahahah you’re the man thanks brotha! The board sounds great man and killer playing as always! I’m grabbin that kit* right now you better believe it!
@@DougieD_Funk Bro I can only imagine! Hope you've got a builder handy who can get it put together 4 ya.
Do you use any fancy switchers to get pedals out of the chain? Does your clean sound lose anything? The serek is active?
No switchers! Just the ABY for amp selection. I'm SURE there is some clean loss, but it's worth it to get all these sounds. The Serek is passive with Nordstrand Zen Blades!
@@Colmanj86 thanks for your reply. Awesome sounds. Violin moments!
@@PorchBass Precisely!!
you posting any of those C4 presets to Neuro?
I hadn't thought of it!
Why switch?
It's an opportunity to express all dimensions of my musicality and melodic instincts!
