At 58 now when I was a kid the pieces were large and finger licking good! Now they are overpriced and greasy and don’t taste anything like 45 years ago. Sorry Yum brands but that’s just my opinion since the video asked.
In 1966 my first job was KFC. They had 1, 2, and 3 piece meals, 9 piece box, 15 and 21 piece buckets. Sides were slaw, potato salad, bake beans, mashed or 3-bean salad. Rolls and honey. That's it. Trivia I should've forgotten by now.😂😂
KFC in Jamaica is so good but you have to spend big bucks and nearly an hour in line. I haven't gone since they stopped carrying potato wedges, hot wings, and spicy crispy in CT around 8 years ago.
There's no secret about it, heavy on the MSG. The chickens are not fed corn and soy, just cheap processed grains. Stret vendors in Asia serve the best fried chicken and put KFC to shame.
@@processarea91 I've traveled to Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia and Thailand. They all served the best fried chicken. Each varies with different spices, herbs and coating of rice or tapioca flour. Each one had a unique finger licking taste.
Its strange that like here in Kenya the prices are waaaay lower than in the US ..... Here in Kenya you can get a full meal for 7 bucks, and the food is all natural .... no GMO product 😀
great video, really enjoyed learning about the process behind KFC's fried chicken. but honestly, isn't it a bit surprising how much oil they use? i mean, it definitely adds flavor, but i can't help but think about the health implications. what do you all think?
If you grew up in the 80s, those were the best years throughout mid 90s. Pricing and taste, they used to be one of the cheaper brands being so famous. Today, Mcdonalds beats the crap out of them even in the fried chicken department and they're not even focused on fried chicken while being cheaper. 11 herbs and spieces my arse, its msg/sodium infested these days. Its crazy.
Watch from 13:12 till 13:25 if you think you are Cool and calm. I bet it will make you crazy.. If it didn't...then you deserve an award for the most peaceful human being.
great video! i love seeing how food is made, especially something as iconic as KFC. but honestly, i’ve always thought their chicken is a bit overrated. it tastes good, but there are so many places with fried chicken that just knock it out of the park. what do you all think?
The last time I had KFC was about a year ago in the UK. The chicken joints were about a third of the size of the joints shown in this video! I gave a negative feedback review via the app, I have never received a response from KFC!
This is an advertisement, rather than an actual documentary. Do prefer making my own, or, if I'm lazy, I'll buy the old classic frozen Banquet box of fried chicken. Trust me, you're not missing anything by not eating at Kentucky Fried Chicken. 🍗
Thanks, am hungry as you have no idea, haven’t been able to leave the office, there will be no lunch time for me today and this video looks so damn delicious 😢
@@processarea91 ☝🏻NOPE...Jollibee does that with their chicken and it's not very tasty...cream/white country gravy w/cracked ground black pepper could have its advantages though🤔
I agree with you 100% since it was sold out to PepsiCo. They have ruined Kentucky fried chicken, cheap ingredients, smaller pieces, list of everything and it taste like crap.😊
didnt they use the slogan "nobody does it better" back in the day ? its funny how in the video they show the already fried chicken wing with 3 feathers still on it. look at 11:50 in the video
I eat it maybe once a year or longer than that, depending on the franchisee. They’re not the same at every store. I pull off all the skin, where most of the oil accumulates.
where I live Costco, kfc, swiss chalet, national grocer and Mary browns,GFS,sysco all get their chicken from the same processing plant, what's even more funny is the halal chicken at Costco and the non halal chicken that sysco gets probably came from the same barn lol
No offense, but fried chicken with the skin on is probably one of the least healthy options out there-especially the skin! My advice? If you're really craving fried chicken, go for tenders instead. They’re a bit of a healthier choice.😌
After not eating there for many, many years because the food got incredibly greasy, I decided to try them again. I got reminded real quick why I quit going. I ordered a 3 pc all white meal. I got a thigh and 2 very small wings. Took it back. They screwed it up again. How hard is It to identify chicken parts? Drums, thighs, breasts, wings. Then when they finally got the chicken right, I see they also changed the potatoes and gravy recipe..now nor good. Coleslaw was ok and biscuits got really small. Major disappointment. I will never go there again
If they show the real barn, you'll see that they are packed into those barns much tighter. They never see sunlight or get to run around in the grass. The real barns go thru 3 cycles of chickens before the litter is changed. Then, on to the slaghter house, usually stacked in crates on a tractor trailer, which suck if it's hot or cold outside. And, when they get to that "place" they all know what's coming...They have emotions. They feel pain. They can do tricks. Try plant-based.
Lived 5 years in Iceland, lived and worked in Reykjavík, I am Danish so for me, it wasn't a huge culture difference, but it sure was for the amazing Nature and wildlife., sadly it's very expensive living there. I especially loved to go to "sund" in the evening and enjoy the hot pools outside while snow was falling down...OMG, I have so many good memories from my time there. Hope to go back again soon, One of the thing I remember from a month-long visit to Germany a few years ago was how I was able to find some really, fantastic deals on food at the grocery story. Usually it was stuff that simply had to be sold that day or thrown away, and it was marked down considerably. If you wanted to, you could simply walk to the grocery store every day, buy whatever was on sale, and just make a day's worth of meals out of that.
Captivating topic! It's great to get a behind-the-scenes look at this iconic dish. What do you think makes their cooking process stand out compared to other fried chicken methods?

The prep process clearly happens at some sort of central kitchen. What I didn't see in this video is how prefried chicken is transported to locations that don't fry on-site because they're in too small a place like say a food court. I assume heated trucks are involved?
☝🏻Precooked and flash frozen then cooked like you would at home in ovens or air fryers or standard fryers that work for fries...I'm a commercial kitchen design consultant for larger restaurants 👍🏻

Yes he did from his slave
