There's no secret about it, heavy on the MSG. The chickens are not fed corn and soy, just cheap processed grains. Stret vendors in Asia serve the best fried chicken and put KFC to shame.

The only time i eat takeaway food is when im in the Philippines with my girlfriend and in the Philippines they have there own takeaway outlets called Jollibee and the chicken is delicious and not greasy, and the price is affordable in Philippine Pesos.
In 1966 my first job was KFC. They had 1, 2, and 3 piece meals, 9 piece box, 15 and 21 piece buckets. Sides were slaw, potato salad, bake beans, mashed or 3-bean salad. Rolls and honey. That's it. Trivia I should've forgotten by now.😂😂

The real "secret" is pressure frier and corn oil with a little bit of citric acid. Because my friend used to work at KFC, he sometimes stole unused flour (with those 11 herbs and spices), we tried to make a fried chicken from that stolen flour, it tasted different than real KFC.

But the staff lunch is too expensive, but because it's so delicious, I still continue to work,... The feeling of lifting the cage out of the frying oil is a pleasure for the kitchen staff. If it's too expensive in the US, go to Vietnam...

I wonder what has changed from the sixties and today’s KFC. It was so much better back then by a long shot. I stop and order a meal on a rare occasion, hoping for a reminder of my childhood only to be disappointed.
Over the years, the KFC flavour and quality have deteriorated, and they no longer taste as good as they used to. Worse still, the pieces of chicken are like pigeon size. The KFC management is not customer-focused.

After not eating there for many, many years because the food got incredibly greasy, I decided to try them again. I got reminded real quick why I quit going. I ordered a 3 pc all white meal. I got a thigh and 2 very small wings. Took it back. They screwed it up again. How hard is It to identify chicken parts? Drums,thighs,breasts,wings. Then when they finally got the chicken right, I see they also changed the potatoes and gravy recipe..now nor good. Coleslaw was ok and biscuits got really small. Major disappointment. I will never go there again
