My name is Matthew and I live in a van. I lost my job due to "cut backs" from the pandemic of 2020 and decided to seriously restructure my life. I am also a single dad who needed to find a solution that would allow me to remain in my daughter's life and plan for her future. After tons of research into #vanlife, I knew it was for me.
From March 2021 until October 2021 I spent my days building out my Chevrolet Express 2500, which came to be known as "Lucky" and as of October 18, 2021 I have been living in Lucky full time.
The build was done with almost no experience on my end and I used the one incredible tool I had at my disposal - the internet - to learn what I needed to build Lucky into a very comfortable tiny home.
I have always had a bit of a passion for being in front of the camera and really enjoy capturing the world around us. This really played into how I was feeling after almost a year of working from home when I "commuted" from the bedroom to the couch. I was starting to feel extremely unhealthy, unmotivated and despondent. I HATED that, and that's not a word I like to throw around. This new lifestyle gives me opportunities I just didn't have before and I am so excited to be able to share it all with you.
I truly believe we all have the capabilities to turn our lives around, should we choose to do so - and if I can inspire you to shoot for something better then I have done a decent job and that will keep me going.
There is more to life than the consume, consume, spend, spend lifestyle I feel we have all been conditioned to follow and I just want to do the best I can for myself first and foremost. Our time is limited and I do not want to waste another second on a lifestyle that doesn't bring me joy!

Odds are you've already been and gone from the surgery by this point, but who knows! When I was in hospital for day surgery they had lockers, and during extended stays it wasn't a big deal to have more things with you in the rooms. Bit more security there. :)
Here in the states the only jewelry you can keep on is wedding rings. They put sterile tape over them. They may have changed that.
We prefer no jewelry in surgery. Swelling in fingers is a real potential, I got really good at removing unremovable rings over my surgical career. 😊
They won't let you in the OR here with any type of jewlery on doesn't matter the material they're made of. Thr potential for bacteria to be under them or on them is .0000001% but it still gets removed.

I have a lower back surgery horror story, a totally different surgery than you, and my outcome was a freak thing not seen before.. lol.. I'm a freak, figures😂
I'm living in pain from ddd and severe cervical stenosis. Really all the fucky spinal offerings 😂...been dealing with it since I was in my 30s.
Everyone is different when it comes to the various surgeries. I have all the faith you'll benefit from it greatly!!!
Happy Birthday.... I'm sorry you spent it in that situation. When I had a very similar surgery..I at least got the good meds as well as my room with a TV & a fridge with decent food. They screwed you. I'm pissed off for you. My heart goes out to you.... you'll bounce back better than ever. Honestly... I laughed and cried during this one. You're very talented at what you do.

l drove to Powell River from Calgary the day after my back surgery. I doubled up on the amount of stops I did though so I could stretch. I got asked...why... and my answer was, because I wanted to.
AMA has air stations for members at most of the offices.
Didn’t know that! The one that’s in my area does not so I never even gave that a second thought

I was told I needed L-3/4/5 fused about 15 years ago in Lethbridge and was even booked in but I chose not to have it done….
I have heard of great and bad results and I know my luck which one I would be 😂 !

I’m guessing when you said you might go to the mall in Edmonton, you meant THE Mall (WEM). On a quick business trip (Avs vs. Oilers) up there, I went there for dinner. Barely saw much of it but it looked like it would take me a week to see it all. Don’t know about WEM, but malls here the states are dying and closing every year.
Ambra be able to give you your phone after you have your surgery they just don’t want you to have anything because I don’t wanna be responsible for it but while you’re in Recovery that night you’ll be able to have your phone
