- The Ballroom world owes a lot to italian dancers that from the 1990's literally made the history of this dance. I personally could not imagine the dancing style we have today, without the influence of these legends. Don't you agree?

This is a golden time. The best dancers are the best teachers
Thank you for brilliant video! Best wishes from Russia!
Thank you)) спасибо 😉
Salve, bellissima descrizione e bellissimo video, manca solo un grande ballerino Dante Sarzo,14 volte campione italiano standard e latini 7 volte finalista ci campionati europei e mondiali. Saluti
Ciao Luciano!
Once upon a time, the English brought in general the frame (whats in a name ;) for and in Ballroom dancing.
You Italian guys brought the spice, power, flavour and undisputable southern charisma to the dancing. Every Standard boy in the 90s wanted to be as the Italian men.
There are highlights enough, as you already show, but the mesmerizing Tango encore of Massimo in the WC in Assen '95 is one of my personal hallmarks. I've had it or still have it on tape and in that that era i've watched that final and encore numerous times...
It seems you 'forgot' Roberto Villa & Michelle Barry. Their QS was phenonemal. Their flying start in that dance is so great. You can look it up in ARD Masters Gala 2000 on YT.
In our, at the time (1998), like national dancesport magazine here in The Netherlands, i recall an article by the hand of the Dutch judge Ron Hoorn, who attented a big comp in Italy i believe. He wrote that they were fantastic and even could be seen as dangerous outsiders to Pino. Pino, who of course in his own right was magical.
Btw, to be crystal my remark about Villa/Barry was most certainly not judgemental, more of a question/heads up.
Furthermore, maybe in the future you can make a serie about other counries as well, for instance Ukraine
Amazing video 👍
Absolutely true! Great video Matteo!!!! Thank you for your time and work to put all this together! Looking forward to see more of your work!!!
Thank you! See you in the next video! ;)
Thanks for composing this great video 👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you!))
Very informative video. The dance world needs more organised videos like this. So people can understand and know the origins or dance moves. Nowadays, it can easily get lost in the comparison in social media.
Thank you! I'll do my best to make other videos like this in the future))
Matteo you'll put yourself in the Hall of Fame too. Could you also look at the Eastern European countries too? Ukraine produce some really fine dancers.
Ukraine certainly has a lot of enthusiasm, but their dancers have not yet reached the top. This is partly because they still largely use a Soviet approach to training. Schiavo reached the top by training with Bill & Bobbie Irvine from Britain, recognizing that at the time, the British had much better teachers than Italy. Ukrainians need a similar realization.

Grazie ;)
🔥🔥🔥
Looking forward to the next part! Do you already have an ETA? 😁
I don’t have an ETA, it takes a lot of work to make this kind of videos and at the moment I don’t have so much time to put into it. Hopefully in summer I can do it!
Thank you for the amazing video, as a youth dancer I felt sad for our generation because we couldn't see these amazing people dancing in amazing competitions. These days we don't see any competition with this much of quality and audience. Unfortunatly dancesport is going on the wrong place.
In my opinion, today there are so many great dancers as well. It's just different the way how we look at them. Before you could see beautiful couples only in events like Blackpool, International and UK, and this helped to create a certain vibe around them, they were like gods, legends. Today we can see everyday on Instagram and UA-cam so many videos of great dancers and we think that this is normal, it's nothing special. But, if you actually start to think, the level is not lower at all, but this is my opinion ;)
Dancesport is growing and evolving, I believe, for the better. Have a look at ballroom dancing from say 50 years ago - what they did is what how learners dance today. That's quite some progress. Imagine what it could become in another 50 years time.
@@richardkan8499 I was mainly talking about the quality of competitions, of how people saw dancesport, how people treat dancesport. Look at the way they dress, look at how many audience is there watching with joy. Ofcourse there is no doubt that dancers today are performing much better then previous generations because today they can have much more information.
Fantastic video! Feel free to watch our episode in which we sit down with Luca Baricchi to discuss his career and take a dip into his thoughts about the current dancesport industry!
Thank you!! I'll watch your video 100% 😉
salve matteo hai qualcosa che riguarda Scataglini-Bellezza anni 98,99,2000?
Ciao! Intendi se ho qualche loro video?
Si certo
@@user-nh8qp9lz3v no, mi dispiace.
Conosci Cosimo Caramia e Antonella Decarolis?
Ciao! Conosco solo Antonella)
I think you might have left out Giampiero Giannico with Anna Mikhed.
Hi! They will be featured in the next episode 😉 thank you!))
I saw that you mentioned GG with everyone else except Anna, that's why I commented. Thank you!
Yes, but as Giampiero and Anna had results only around 2010, I thought they would better fit in the next video.
