I'll be the first to warn you, this hobby is so addictive. Don't be discouraged with any first time mistakes . Everyone has these boo boos. I actually ordered my first fretboard already cut, just so I wouldn't be discouraged. My first one played so perty, and I was hooked. Good luck

A stumper, for sure - the good thing was I got to listen to a LOT of music trying to figure it out - a lot of hymns (including a bunch of lesser-known ones) - even went through most of the Carter Family songs, until it hit me - my dad loved Hank Sr and I got to hear it a lot growing up. When playing a three string, and the song is in 4/4 time, and the picking pattern goes 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3 on a four string guitar, how can we compensate on a three string? You hear this four note picking pattern on a lot of old slow dance music. I usually just double up one of the notes, but are there other ways?
