Wastingsometimehere of course. the advance of technology will never be able to substitute the classic media. oil painting, books and paper, acoustic music...
Digital tricks are nice and can be used to reach a level of epicness you wouldn't be able to reach with just an orchestra. Thomas uses them a lot, for example in Aura and Final Frontier. But I get what you mean :P
Full orchestras are hard to replace with digital soundfonts. High-quality orchestral soundfonts may come close, but they're absurdly expensive. Besides, fancy soundfonts are only really useful for lone digital musicians who can't gather so many people to play their song. A group with as much money as TSFH might as well just hire an orchestra anyway. TSFH does include digital tricks every now and then, but mostly to get sounds that can't be achieved otherwise (All is Hell that Ends Well's dubstep drop, Dragon Rider's DnB drums, the subtle synths in the Sun album, etc. etc. etc.).
Fancy soundfonts (sample libraries) indeed are very useful to composers who can't afford to gather an orchestra... However, you may be relieved to know that many starting composers use these sample libraries in their journey until they reach the level where they can get real orchestras ^^. Also, the expensive orchestral sample libraries are used in many movie trailers and soundtracks.
There's a reason TSFH is one of the top in the industry. Don't get me wrong, i still love a lot of other composers that make digital tracks, but the fact that TSFH uses a live orchestra is what throws them high above the rest. The subtle differences between live and digital makes a major difference in the realism and the immersion of the music. Well done TSFH. Well done.
WalkingJOker Ahhhh I remember when I was in 7th grade and read the Inheritance series. Those books are amazing and reading it was one of the greatest experiences ever. I would read them again soon once I get these damned college finals over with.
Abominable Snowman For an epic music channel, they're doing damn well for themselves. I only hope to see a movie scored by them one of these days. They deserve that kind of honor
TSFH is one of, if not, THE best groups I've come across. Their music is so exhilarating, refreshing, moving, calming and transporting. I listen to their music all the time especially when I'm at work. Kudos to you guys and keep up the magnificent work. Felicia is not just very beautiful, but also she possesses such a beautiful voice.
I absolutely love TSFH and have been listening to their music for several years (this song is not an exception), but I was a bit disappointed that the percussion was not shown once in the video.
Felicia, your voice is so fitting for the music of TSFH. Another amazing song that touches the soul. Beautiful! Thomas, Nick, and the rest of the musicians who currently play and future musicians that will play this music, thank you so much. This music is a blessing and should be heard around the world for it is empowering to the soul and peaceful to the mind. I'm not good with words haha but know this, I'm very grateful for you guys(Thomas B. & Nick P.) for making music that sings in many realms and takes us all on a journey. You're my inspiration in music. Thank you for everything you've done!! #twostepsfromhellforever
Thank you from the heart Cloud Lake. Honored by your words (..and truly, ..you are good with words). It is an amazing journey to experience the creative process, and the joy of fans experiencing the final result of the music. Wishing you continued inspiration in all things. :)
One thing about these behind the scenes I love, is that they give a lot of screentime to the people who are helping make the the music that they've written, not just the lead vocalist or two... but the orchestra and the backing singers. It's beautiful and makes the music even better, to see the amazing effort everyone puts into it.
In the pain, the agony, and the heroic endeavors of life, we pass through a refiner's fire, and the insignificant and the unimportant in our lives can melt away like dross and make our faith bright, intact, and strong.
I'm loving these behind the scenes look on recordings, gives more of a connection with the people working together to make these amazing orchestral pieces.
One of the best tracks composed by Nick, if not the best so far. In 3:39, the lyrics are "Svanu novi dan svanu stara tuga” which translates to “New day rises but the sorrow remains”. Few people know that the song was composed in part as a tribute to his second son, who was killed last year when police ran over him when he was crossing the street. He was a young guy super cool that still as a teenager had already set up a fashion shop.
I couldn't believe it was this short! In my mind I went somewhere else. Amazing and inspiring song. It's because of songs like this I wish I could live in Fantasy world even for a brief period of time. Thanks TSFH and Capellen Orchestra & Choir for this master piece.
I have been listening to Two Steps from Hell non stop for 1 year now. At home and work. From when I wake up until I go to bed I listen on repeat. Simply wonderful.
Props to the singers, who are able to read this gibberish without breaking out in constant laughter. ^^ I mean, of course its sounds awesome after the song is done. But by itself.... hillarious.
It's not gibberish, it's Serbian. The lyrics sung by the choir are "Svanuo novi dan, svanu stara tuga" which means "A new day rises, but the sorrow remains"
I really love this not just because of the usual fantastic music. . . . but in this world of instant satisfaction, we often forget the work and the the talent and the people behind the musical genius we listen to. Especially when so much music today is purely computer generated. . . it is so encouraging to see the faces behind the real instruments and the people who's real voices are involved in making such masterpieces! Thank you :)
This is a huge composition...Incredible...TSFH continues to surprise us with music from out of this world...Please never give up...Continue to amaze us.
A Masterpiece... Great Composer Nick Phoenix, Beautiful vocals - Felicia Farerre ( I remember her voice from 300: Rise of an Empire), Asja Kadric and spiritual orchestr and choir.... Thanks TSFH.
The first seconds already gave me goosebumps. What an amazing track again. BEautiful to see that they still make music with instruments and not the digital ways.
Nebula the stupidity of mankind never ceases to amuse me....it would seem you will be thinking the same soon.....on another note who's the anime character in your profile pic?
Such a powerful song, and as always, Merethe Soltvedt is beyond amazing. I love watching this video and seeing the orchestra behind the music. I so wish I had the opportunity to see TSFH live!
I have never in my life heard dedication to powerful music than I have just listened to. I thank you all for putting forth the effort and time to create this masterpiece. I am humbly grateful.
You've done a great great job Nick. Unbelievable. Especially the parts with the female singer, it sounds really good and it definitely touches my soul. It actually made me tear up a bit. You all are doing absolutely fantastic work and i can't wait for more.
No hay nada en este mundo que se compare a estas semejantes obras de arte!!! Definitivamente TSFH son los mejores! Siempre y en cada disco me llenan el alma!!! Ya estoy a un paso solamente!
Nick Phoenix is the other half of Two Steps I never really appreciated because Thomas' compositions are much more emotionally gripping IMO. But this track brought a tear to my eye. So blessed to be a witness to the greatness of TSFH and so happy there's new music!
I LOVE Two Steps From Hell
me too! so EPIC always! :D
is THE BEST
Epic Music Movie beautifulllll!!!!!!
Always nice to know things are still done the old fashioned way with music and it's not just digital tricks.
Wastingsometimehere so true
Wastingsometimehere of course. the advance of technology will never be able to substitute the classic media. oil painting, books and paper, acoustic music...

I freaking LOOVEEE when you make a background video of a song, cause I can finally see the awesome people who took part in such a magnificent thing!
always give me goose bump and much appreciate the music more.
I can't remember many things more beautiful than a TSFH music.
my dick
my dick
Niels Gaatjeniksaan Probably, but I've never seen it.
hh i must remember things for exam and i only remember this :D My soul is just into this perfect music instead
Tu es partout !
"Nope, we can't record our vocalist in the studio with the orchestra. She can't sing well unless she's dancing on top of a mountain."
Einer muss doch immer meckern.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
thats exactly... what i wanna explain about TSFH..., thank you
Seriously, we need more TSFH in games. It makes the experience that much better.
not in games, but EVERYWHERE!
Patrick Conte im listening to epic music while reading. i was listening to TSFH while reading Eragon. THUS IS SO F EPICC!!!
WalkingJOker Ahhhh I remember when I was in 7th grade and read the Inheritance series. Those books are amazing and reading it was one of the greatest experiences ever. I would read them again soon once I get these damned college finals over with.
THIS should be playing on the radio
They tried once; people were speeding and some cars turned into dragons.
This post made my day!
I'll end up throwing my car in a tree while trying to play every instrument en singing every voice
The whole Vanquish album is amazing! This song was one of the highlights of the album. So good! 😍
Please, keep filming the behind the Scenes! They are awesome!
I've love TSFH for many years but this is the first time I saw them behind the scene.. This kind of video is great!
You guys need to advertise the hell out of your music. only 500k subs?! no way. this deserves millions more
Yes. But majority prefers pop music. They even don't know how cool epic music can be =)
Sergey Russian IKR!
Abominable Snowman For an epic music channel, they're doing damn well for themselves. I only hope to see a movie scored by them one of these days. They deserve that kind of honor
Hell's Courier there is a problem. They don't want to score movies)
Sergey Russian why don't they want to score movies? An entire movie soundtrack by TSFH would be beyond epic
The melody in the video is truly something special. Have a nice day everyone!
This quickly became my favorite Nick Phoenix track, and one of my favorite TSFH tracks overall after hearing it.
太美了!!!!!!!!!!!!真的太美了
Nick Phoenix的音樂在這張專輯裡提升到一個新的境界

I absolutely love TSFH and have been listening to their music for several years (this song is not an exception), but I was a bit disappointed that the percussion was not shown once in the video.
Keep them coming.
Still listening to this 6 years later!
Wish TSFH has more live concerts!

A "Behind the scens" or "recording footage" video to all of the tracks from vanquish would be awesome
Wonderful to watch an actual orchestra and choir performing!
THIS is quality ^^

Aeduh there’s an entire song dedicated to Nick Phoenix’s late son: His Brightest Star Was You.
This is wrong. The Police did not run over him, a guy who fled the Police ran over him as he was chased by the Police.
Great music ! Thank you ! 2021 listening !!
They are telling the story of an vanquished earth through music! This is something truly unique and amazing. Thank you Two Steps From Hell!
Love this song SO MUCH!!! Always satisfying to see the orchestra, too.
Seeing all the talent it takes to make this epic music gives me gratitude for those who made it and adds another aspect of epic ness to the music.
Thanks for making me smile every day with your videos! :)
Two steps from hell testing out their new drone
yeah... some amateur test the drone.... its so amateur, i am sorry for that, but its true.
We need more behind the scenes! These talented people should be recognized for their awesomeness! :D
I couldn't believe it was this short! In my mind I went somewhere else. Amazing and inspiring song. It's because of songs like this I wish I could live in Fantasy world even for a brief period of time.
Thanks TSFH and Capellen Orchestra & Choir for this master piece.

The first seconds already gave me goosebumps. What an amazing track again. BEautiful to see that they still make music with instruments and not the digital ways.
Already 1 dislike. Wow. How can someone actually dislike such a eargasm?
I'm starting to suspect UA-cam automatically gives videos one like and one dislike, for "fairness" or some such nonsense.
You do think that? Idk, I never thought at something like this and I've never heard about it. Also, I've seen other videos with no dislikes so...
Iam pretty sure he did it just to annoy you.
Nebula the stupidity of mankind never ceases to amuse me....it would seem you will be thinking the same soon.....on another note who's the anime character in your profile pic?
Ayushman Harlalka He's Jin Kisaragi from BlazBlue Alter Memory
Goose bumps everywhere... this is truly awesome
