    Instead of just using a brush can I use other applicator as well? Is that Intergrain Natural Stain water based? semi transparent?

      Yes it's water based and has a darker stain look to keep the sun from affecting it,however you can get this in a clear but it's only designed for interiors. You can use a lambswool applicator, brush or spray, you can't roll it cause it create bubbles.

    Hi, great vid! How do you avoid dark spots? My dad stained his deck and has a lot of dark spots... my aunt and uncle offered me a job to stain there deck but I don’t want to take it unless I know I can make it look better than my dads

      I think the dark spots could be mould in the timber so in this case you would have to sand it all back to bare and start with fresh timber to get a good finish with out those spots.

    Which timber did you apply on and what colour is it ? Im about to stain my deck and it is pine ( very pale colour), and I would like to get the same look as yours! And what size is your brush??

      The deck is Merbau hardwood decking, the stain is called natural. You will want to put three coats of the color "Jarrah" on to get a similar look on pine decking. After two coats just do a sample with a third coat somewhere to see if you like it. The more coats you put on the darker it gets. The brush is a 75mm

      @@ThePa1nterhowto why do one with brush and one with applicator?

    • @ThePa1nterhowto
      @ThePa1nterhowto  5 років тому

      @@pgreenx Best if first one is brush,you can see any problems and force the stain in and I already had a brush out anyway

      Is this called backbrushing? That is what the paint store specialist told me to do.
