I literally just started season 1 and I'm already hooked
How was the whole show? 😄
kick ass show!
The last 8 episodes of the show very well could be the greatest of any show of all time.
I disagree. I feel the 2nd half of season 5 is the weakest of any of the seasons, but the finale makes up for it.
@@mrskinszszs that is an interesting take. I just find it so compelling because the tension is high, Walt is at his peak viciousness, jessie realizes that walt is a liar and used him, hank is unraveling everything that has happened, everything sitting on the edge of a knife. You are right, the finale is a masterpiece.
@@calothin I can see why people would say that. I actually feel like the first half of season 5 is one of the strongest. It set up for very interesting directions to take it in, but they had a lot of missed opportunities. I felt they could have used an extra season to fully develop some of the choices they made. They blew their wad on Gus and rushed in the idea of the neo-Nazis being his final nemesis, despite only being around for a handful of scenes. We really know nothing about them aside from being neo-Nazis, and they were only Walt's enemies for roughly 3 episodes. Compare that to the 2-3 season story arc they devoted to building up Gus as a character, even giving us flash backs to his past. It's kinda hard for me to take the entire premise of the season seriously. They tried to compensate by pulling out Jesse every so often simply to show how evil they are, but it didn't have the same impact as Walt matching wits with someone just as intelligent as he is.
Kolby K I agree almost entirely with your comment here, but I have an interesting take on the neo nazis. Gustavo Fring was Walt’s ideal self. He had everything, he had everybody’s respect, he was successful and secretive while still being appreciated by the public. Walter killed him, becoming his own boss and the neo nazis seem to represent his blind ego and thirst for power and money. That is the true demon that he has to defeat, and he does in the end. He frees Jesse, somebody who once was a pet/son to him, and he kills Jack rather than finding out where all of his riches went. He admits he did it for himself, etc etc I could go on and on. Walt may not fully redeem himself, at that point it is impossible, but he definitely has grown from the monster that he had become at one point. Every character served their purpose and I think if he hadn’t faced the neo nazis, he might never have died with that look of satisfaction on his face.
@@mrskinszszs
So To'hajiilee, Ozymandias and Granite State are just....weak episodes?? I'm sorry. You're entitled to your opinion but this is just fundamentally false.
"Best show of all time" cannot agree more. I miss it everyday. This movie better be great
The Wire is my favorite, but this show is a close second. I can see why it's many people's favorite
@@ravfan123 never watched. Might check it out
Oz is underrated
Oh baby it's awesome and I'm sad to say that Robert Forster sadly died in the same day that the film was released on Netflix he died of brain cancer.
Nathan Hanratty oh it is
That intro was sick brotha! Was waiting to see if you were gonna sport the tighty whiteys lol.
This is to me the greatest show of all time as well. It’s flawless. The performances were perfect. Just ask Sir Anthony Hopkins.
It’s been said that most characters in shows don’t truly transform. They grow and learn, but to do a complete 360? Not common. The Hollywood reason for this is because once we invest in the nature of a character on tv we expect that character to ultimately stay consistent. It’s comforting. Walter white goes from a down and out, borderline pathetic man, to an absolutely terrifying monster. Experiencing that transformation never ceases to amaze me.
Thanks for this Cody!
That intro was golden!
I originally started watching Breaking Bad at 14 and I liked the first episode but I wasn't crazy about it and then at 16 I started again and then I got hooked but only watched up until the end of season 1 because I got the flu and started watching something else 😂😂 Finally, at 17 I was finally like "You know what, I kind of want to finally watch this" and I binge watched 4 seasons in about a week or so
"YEAH... SCIENCE B*TCH!"
It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I love when Walt rags on Jessie in season 1. Jessie walking into the store and sitting in the containers to figure out which to buy. What a dumb@$$. 😂
Hehehe Jesse drag Emilio corpse through a flight of stairs and he put him in the bathtub and pour hydrofluoric acid.
I think I fell in love with this show just off of Bryan Cranston as I knew him from my love of Malcom In The Middle. It was that Robin Williams moment of " Oh Wow, he can do drama and do it better than almost anyone else ".
I AM THE ONE WHO is rewatching the entire series before El Camino is released.
Ostro1980 no, I’ve rewatched it twice, and still on Better Call Saul 😂😎
*I was a latecomer to this show. I thought it was a show about zombies so I never bothered lol. I started watching during the season 5 mid-break. I was kicking myself. I love this show so much and have rewatched it 4 times.*
Show about zombies .. ok? LOL but I am glad you tuned in and you 😉
I'm a latecomer too. I used to hear how good this was from a work colleague. At the time I was so hooked in Person of Interest so haven't had enough to emotionally invest on another show.
I'm glad I decided to watch it a few weeks ago in Netflix.
I see you mixed it up with The Walking Dead.
Breaking Dead
@@LunarWrens145 lol
I have the entire series on DVD and it is absolutely my favorite show of all time
Seeing him kill crazy 8 was the moment I was like yeahhh I’m gonna watch the rest of this and the scene where he says this is meth really cemented me binging the rest of this show
Man.. I thought we’d get Cody in his tighty whities
Oh no, I don’t know about other people, but I do not get how they’re not completely into the show since episode 1. I love season 1. I LOVE IT! I love every single part of Breaking Bad absolutely. How can I not? How can anyone not?
Eli Espinoza I agree. The pilot is one of the best pilots in TV history.
Breaking Bad was also my favorite show of all time. Then while I was watching Game Of Thrones I was like, damn I think I like this more. Unfortunately the last few seasons of Game of Thrones sucked hard. Breaking bad was perfect from start to finish, and that ending was great. Therefore Breaking Bad is STILL my favorite show of all time. Great review Cody, I look forward to the rest.
Year's later I still rewatch the series alot . favorite show hands down
I love your intros Cody, so badass
You had me running around finding a stupid piece of plastic when I had a perfectly good bathtub upstairs!
I really thought you'd go tighty whitey in the intro! I love breaking bad week bro!!!
I wanted to. There was a busy road behind me I didnt want to draw cops lol
When I was a kid, we had a basement with multiple poles.
I don’t know why I never watched this show until recently, I have been binge watching. It is one of my favorites of all time. I love it!!
I can't believe I didn't see this playlist beforeeeee
Breaking Bad without Jessie! Could not comprehend that
Me either
I didn't watch Breaking Bad until the first season of The Walking Dead. My DVR got the last minute or so of a guy getting his brains blown out in parking lot (in the middle of the day, no less) and I decided that I needed to check that out
I always love your little intros bro! So funny.
Rockin' the Fright Rags. Cool to see you do a review of this great show!
This has been around since 2008? I think I've been living under a rock. I'll be binge watching.
Wow I don't know how you do it Cody, making videos while doing your own job and raising a family. You deserve a little break in the near future. My wife has finally started watching Breaking Bad, and its awesome to see little foreshadowing in the earlier seasons of what's to come later on. Have a good one Cody, stay awesome \m/.
Awesome review Cody. Breaking Bad is an incredible series and a masterpiece of cinema. I've lost track on how many time's I watched this show. Better Call Saul is also excellent and the best show on T.V. Can't wait until Friday for El Camino.
That intro was badass!
In the first Seasons defense it also had very few episodes now it's more common for first season's to get very short runs and make it harder for them to make a good impression off the bat
loved that Opening, very creative indeed Cody
I love the intro, haha, that was a really fun segment! Very creative haha.
I used to always see “everyone hates Skyler” all over the internet when this show ran and I felt attacked until I learned she was just a Breaking Bad character lol.
I tried to give BB multiple chances and just couldn’t get into it but your review is very good as always.
Sky Min are you serious?? You need to binge watch this show ASAP sweety.. one of the best TV shows of all time
Best show of all time. And I was sucked in from season 1
I'm the same way... it's my favorite show of all time and ALL of the episodes are great. There may be a few nitpicks here and there, but it's very impressive how no episodes were wasted and even little details from seasons 1-2 can be crucial in season 5. I also didn't really like 'Fly' at first but I appreciated it on second viewing.
I remember that shit from the start walt used to be so ready for himself to die
I absolutely love the tune of dark comedy you've mentioned through the first season, and i believe that season 2 has it too specially the "4 days out" episode. thanks for your great reviews on season one, i watched this show 4th time and i can keep watching it till i die.
Been so long since I’ve seen the first season. Nice wrap up. Agreed that it takes a few episodes to really get you hooked. Great chemistry between the leads for sure. Woulda gone nowhere without Pinkman around.
Was getting closer to Friday and I wondered if you would break out this series review, I'm currently on the final season on this rewatch and can't wait for El Camino. I also hope to god Jesse gets a happy ending as he was my favourite throughout the series. BB is a perfect tv show just due to each season getting better and better. I can't wait to see what your favourite season is. Great work as always Cody☺️
That opening bro....spot on
I can’t wait till you get to season 4 and 5. Jesse really shines in those later seasons. I just finished rewatching a couple weeks ago and I can’t wait for el Camino and that review
Great review Cody, I was late to the party watching this only recently finishing the amazing series, great review Cody you cram so much into these reviews & never short change your subscribers, Brian Cranston could have been a excellent Lex Luthor.
Thank you for doing this. I’m going to love watching all your season by season breakdowns. This is 100% the greatest TV series of all time, and I agree that it’s not close.
Awesome! Can't wait for Friday.
Dude I’ve been waiting for this review!! I’m from Albuquerque so you know I love breaking bad.
Greatest series of all time. Thank you for covering it!
Great start to one of my fav shows.
It was fun realising that the actor who played Tuco was in The Rock by Micheal Bay and the actress who played skyler was in Enemy of the State
Could you try to review american werewolf in london I love to hear your thoughts on that classic great review mate
GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME!!! Good review and your intros be great 😂
This was definitely the best intro of his I've seen haha well done mare
HELL YES! Been waiting for this!
You should do Oz the HBO show from the late 90s early 2000s its hella underrated now but its a good watch trust me
Final season of supernatural starts this week... There are currently 14 just needing a review!
Also my favorite show of all time and jessie pinkman is my favorite
OMG, I LOVE the cold open of this video, my favorite!!!!!!! I'm currently watching Breaking Bad for the 450th time, favorite show ever!
Years ago the first 2 episodes of season one came on television I'd never seen the show before I hadn't watched it yet but when I finished watching the first 2 episodes of season 1 I was like this show is amazing I need to watch the rest of it
Great review and I’m on season four for the fourth time. To call season one the weakest is a stretch but I guess I’d say yes but still awesome. So excited for El Camino!!!!
I dont even like saying "weakest" or "worst" talking about this season. I prefer "least incredible" haha
Awsome Cody! Great upload
Now I want to rewatch this whole series
Nice opening Cody. Good tribute.
Season 2 is my favorite. But 1 is a close follow up
Cody, I too Love Breaking Bad, & I got Hooked watching Season 1!😊 I began a note on my cell trying to decide my top 15 TV series of all time, & even tho I'm 20+ years older than you, as of now Breaking Bad is also my #1.♥️ I've seen the full series twice, as I'd recorded Many epis on my old legacy cable system at my Prior apt when AMC re-aired each season prior to the New season's premier, a few times, & before part 2 of seas 5 aired a year later, but I lost all those eps when I moved to my condo Nov 1 2018, so Thank G-d BB is on Netflix! I watched it 2nd time in 2016 w/my Bf at that time (I Broke-up w/him in 7/2019) & He loved it too.
It begins with them locking a guy up in the basement, and ends with Pinkman being locked up.
Yesssss thank you cody
Just finished Season 1 and I loved it.
9/10 (Yeah Science!!!)
This intro dominates!
I love the jingle of breaking bad. I never skipped it once...
I especially love the insects or whatever the hell it is at the end of it.
@@thedarkknight9153 what r u talking about
If Danny McBride had a brother it would be Cody lol
Breaking bad ismy favourite TV show
Do a The Shield Vic Mackey review @Cody Leach please
Just started watching this for the second time! I just missed this world so much!
Great review, Julian from Trailer Park Boys. :)
I miss watching it for the first time
I've been watching the whole series again to prepare for the movie this Friday. I can't wait. And Vince said there may or may not be ANOTHER movie down the line. Also, where's the tighty whities? :D
You actually don’t look too bad in glasses
Damn Cody my wife has been on my ass to watch this series for awhile. She said well Cody is reviewing it so guess you gotta it watch now. So on to Netflix I go. Also MythBusters did a Breaking Bad with Vince Gilligan if you can find it watch they prove the trunk machine gun.
My personal favorite TV of all time!
I've not seen it since it was new but I absolutely loved it. Time for a rewatch
I've actually never seen this show. Need to give it a shot. Side note if you haven't seen it yet you should watch peaky blinders on Netflix. You wanna talk about great show.
Brings back awesome memories.
Oh my god i love Breaking Bad! I've not watched it in five year's! Might re-watch again! I 💙Jesse! Best tv show EVER!
Great review Cody! Looking forward to the next!😃
Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor: “I AM THE DANGER!!!”
I love love LOVE this show and can’t wait for El Camino! Just finished rewatching the series for the third time a few weeks ago.
They could have had Bryan Cranston play Lex but instead they got shitty Jesse Eisenberg doing a bad Joker impression rather than being Luthor.
Something you should know, Cody. El Camino will have a limited theatrical release in theaters, you can still order tickets. I think it would be a lot cooler than to see it on Netflix
Nowhere around me
@@CodyLeachYT For real? That sucks dude
GOAT show
Are you gonna review and rank better call saul?
i almost didn't recognize you at the beginning, the glasses threw me off for a second.
This and Sons of Ancestry are my 2 favorite shows of all times 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I started watching this show directly after finishing BoJack Horseman, so whenever I hear Jesse all I can hear is Todd.
Hey Cody I don’t know if you’re an X Files fan, but Vince Gilligan, “Breaking Bad’s” creator and show runner is an alumni writer of the X Files. Episodes like “Drive” with Bryan Cranston in 1998 (10 years before “Breaking Bad”), “Bad Blood” and “Pusher” are excellent and some of the show’s best. I wish Gilligan had done some of the main story of the X Files. He seems to know how to tell a complete story in 45 minutes. Lol
Just was curious your thoughts on that. I’ve only watched Breaking Bad once all the way through, but I remember loving it the first time and want to revisit. Currently loving the prequel series “Better Call Saul”
Edit: you did mention the X Files episode Bryan Cranston was in. Lol
But I am curious what you think of Vince Gilligan as showrunner. You sound like you love Breaking Bad. Lol
Hey in a later vid like season 2 or 3 or somthing you said this show takes place over 1 year 2008 - 2009 but it has to cover at least 2 because of the pancakes and bacon!!!!!
Brian Cranston really showed what he could do in this show. Holy crap he's good.
Can we get a season ranking before the el Camino review?
After
Off topic but how did you get so comfortable in front of the camera or did it come naturally? I'm currently starting a channel (not movie reviews)
Came with practice and gained confidence
@@CodyLeachYT thank you! I'm 37 years old from Dallas Texas living in Houston for the past 2 years with my wife and two step sons. I know you gave talked about being a step father and I can COMPLETELY relate. It's a very difficult especially them being in their teenage years and not having my "own".Never thought I would associate in any way with any social media but boy how the world has changed. I figure, why not...
Cody why don’t you do review on game of thrones i want to hear your opinion on every season I am just hooked on your channel i watched dexter reviews and better call saul and now breaking bad i hope you do game of thrones and HOTD
Best show ever! By the way dude we have the same first and middle name, pretty funny.
what I like about this season is its fast pacing no episode feels like filler while s1 of better caul saul while amazing has a bunch of slow filler episodes in it walt kills by ep.3 while it takes mike about 4 seasons to reach that point.
It's weird to think that Breaking Bad started while Dexter was on its 3rd season. But as Breaking Bad got better and better Dexter fell apart after Season 4. I've said for a long time that the most seasons a show should have is 5 and that you should only do more if you have actual ideas and not just continue a show long past the point you ran out of ideas for it just to squeeze out more money like they did with Dexter.
Just starting this show now
