The Fugue subject at 21:32 is so well-thought out, sometimes you already know just by the musicality of the theme, that the Fugue is going to be a banger. Obviously Sietze is going completely crazy here and additionally joins with the complete Chorale theme in the pedal at 23:22, as if the Fugue alone wasn't already insane enough. There are only a handful of people in the world, who have mastered polyphony at this level and we might even be getting dangerously close to Bach level here. I wonder how a Stretto (maybe after 26:17 similar to BWV541) would have sounded with this subject.
A brilliant performance, many thanks to Sietze de Vries for these excellent variations on "Herzlich tut mich verlangen". Wonderful visual impressions of Sankt Mariæ Kirke in Helsingør, where Dietrich Buxtehude once worked, marvellous registers.
Bella improvisación. Acompañada de hermosas imágenes. Texturas, colores, luces y sombras. Poder seguir las registraciones sería fantástico. Muchas gracias. gracias
Bach walked hundreds of miles to listen to the master; we have only to follow Seitze on UA-cam.
Agreed! Meister de Vries is indeed the modern Buxtehude.

Dangerously close? It IS Bach level. Don't be afraid to say it ;)
I always learn something new from your improvisations Sietze! Keep posting!!!
