Wat een geweldige vervanging van de orgelprogramma's die ik in mijn jeugd op de radio hoorde. Let wel, ik ben niet christelijk, uit Amsterdam, maar vind dit wel bijzonder toffe muziek ;-)

Dit instrument is qua uiterlijk en qua klank een juweeltje. Kunst op hoog niveau

Geweldig!!

Heel erg mooi. Wel een kleine opmerking: het kan aan de opname liggen, of het bewerkingsprogramma, maar als je een kritisch luisterend oor hebt zoals ik, dan kun je kleine haperingetjes horen in de audio. Wellicht kan het opgelost horen. Doet verder niets af aan de mate waarin ik geniet van de muziek!

I'm impressed beyond measure and wholeheartedly by Mr Sietze de Vries' boundless joy of playing and magnificent art of improvisation. How beautifully the stops of the large organ in the monastery church in Muri, Switzerland, resound. It is fascinating and intoxicatingly beautiful. The improvisation of the fugue is magnificent. You feel as if you have been carried up to heaven. Many thanks to Sander Booij and Sietze de Vries.

What fantastic, exciting variations on the cantus firmus "Vater unser im Himmelreich", bubbling over with imagination, endowed with exuberant joy of playing and masterly in the mastery of cantus firmus techniques, can be heard from the Lutheran church of St. Petri in Melle on the occasion of this year's 300th anniversary of the Christian Vater organ, which was inaugurated in May 1724. I greatly admire the masterly perfection in the mastery of counterpoint, as well as the brilliant playing technique in the art of improvisation of the improviser Mr Sietze de Vries. An excellent listening pleasure, which is further enriched by the beautiful aesthetic photographs of the organ case and the console of the Christian Vater organ. I like the powerful, expressive tone colours and the fantastic, majestic organ plenum. A multi-faceted, varied and powerful improvisation with a fiery pedal solo almost towards the end as well as extraordinarily sophisticated harmonic progressions and a crowning, majestic conclusion. Mr de Vries, I listened with pleasure, thank you.

Ik heb het genoegen gehad om dit live te beluisteren, het was een prachtige concert!! En natuurlijk een hele fantastisch orgel:)

I love the crisp articulation you use in the adagio. It gives it a throbbing, rhythmic quality that really brings out the sorrowful affect. It just shows how cantabile doesn’t mean just superimposing lots of legato. I think it’s really quite a skill to retain the singing quality while bringing out the rhythmic vitality.
