    To prevent future damage to your door, you need some kind of restrictor. Like a door actuator, a chain, a rope. Something that doesn't let your door swing all the way open. The laundry/bathroom is gorgeous. It doesn't feel like it took 2 yrs to build it. Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉

      I suggested a restraining door chain back when they built the wood kiln, because that door kept getting broken. It might take something more since the wind is just sooooo strong.

    You guys should totally add a thin wood bench along the wall across from the shower so that you have a place to sit and dry off and a spot to put your clean clothes for when you get out of the shower so they're not on the floor. Also a few hooks above it on the wall would be nice to br able to hand towels, robes, and clothes also! Just a suggestion. 😊

      @sashabenoit1518 5 місяців тому +4

      @@kookietherapy9398 Yeah, that would be good for some folded towels and maybe some candles and small decor. I was also thinking of either some shelves along the side of the washer dryer or a cabinet but on the entrance door side, for laundry detergent, cleaning products, toilet paper and general bathroom products storage, maybe a spot for a mop and broom too.

  • @Saruat26

    Guys I love your work, but you have to change the hook latch in the sauna, thats a safety concern. You need something that can be opened from the outside if one of you were to god forbid faint in the sauna and you had the rope latched to that hook. How would anyone on the outside be able to open the door. Also not to rain on your parade, but you still need to build the staircase for your bathroom. But in saying all that, cant wait for your next video. 😁😁💕💕

    A traditional sauna has gravity ventilation, and it is certainly still the most functional and completely adequate option in a cabin sauna. Gravity ventilation is based on warm air rising upwards. Fresh supply air is taken from the floor and door gap. The air heated by the stove rises upwards and exits through the eaves of the ceiling. Gravity ventilation works more efficiently in wood saunas than in electric saunas, as part of the air is exchanged through the flue. In order for ventilation to be sufficient, sufficient fresh air must flow under or next to the stove, and there must be at least one well-functioning, adjustable exhaust valve at the ceiling.

I have been following you guys for several years and this video is in my top two favs. I am still mentally struggling for the lack of steps outside that finicky door but I know you have a plan lol - btw: we have trade winds too that are very rough at times, if you install an automatic door closer, that will reduce the drag when the door opens, protecting the frame from torquing. $20 bucks that will save some swearing lol ❤🎉

    Awesome! So beautiful! Although that sauna door hook seem like a bad idea. If you are in there and feel like you might pass out in a second you don't want to fumble with a rope. Same if someone needs to help someone unresponsive in the inside. A ball snap latch might be better to hold the door closed.

    Congratulations on the completion of a fabulous, luxuriously beautiful, multifunctional bathroom spa.
    Going back to the days of building a YMCA bus into a home that held you in love and adventure, not to mention feeding homeless folks. You two, now three, are an awe-inspiring force of human nature.
    I have been living in my DIY converted to a tiny home on wheels commercial cargo van for 5 years.
    I had already survived a few economic crashes and a life altering health detour.
    I am your senior by decades. I attribute my survival and that of my children to the grace of God. There is no other explanation as to how we survived and ultimately thrive.
    So how am I inspired by you?
    Years later, with only myself and a dog to support and what I couldn't label a debilitating injury. All but took my life.
    Your video's gave me hope for myself. I was and always will be your senior. Of course I knew your young age would allow plenty of opportunities to adjust and thrive.
    You gave me a confidence boost. I already had survived, but wanted more. More than survival.
    You two/three are absolutely not all that have influenced me.
    For dam sure, you have influenced my determination to push through.

    Suggestions: on the door outside the sauna, 2 or 4 hooks for towels and clothes but also a shelf (I will try to explain in words) that has a top part that has 2 holes in it that fit 32 oz mason jars. In other words you can fit the jars in from the top and they won’t fall over. Those jars are for ice water so you don’t get dehydrated.

      Some people like myself aren’t religious/spiritual but that doesn’t mean we aren’t grateful people. Telling someone they should be spiritual is presumptuous & has an unfounded air of superiority. I probably would’ve rolled my eyes & passed this over if not for being triggered by having to leave my therapist after 3 visits over incompatibility with her Christian clouded judgement

    • @charlene5461
      @charlene5461 5 місяців тому +3

      @@paige2848 I believe, and not being superior whatsoever, just my belief that people who are connected to the earth, who love deeply, care about happiness, genuinely caring for others more than themselves, care about themselves, grounded, hard working and blessed with so many talents...they are spiritual in a natural way. Because this lady's view is "wonderful and grateful to God for this young family" is how she feels doesn't deserve your condemning superior comment or your bad encounter with a therapist who didn't agree with you or your way of thinking. I hope you have an awesomely blessed day and week💖🙏💖

    • @paige2848

      I wouldn’t have commented if she’d said God has blessed you as so many have in these comments. The distinction is that she’s telling them they SHOULD be spiritual in her religious way because GOD has blessed them. It’s presumptuous to assume you can’t appreciate nature, be good stewards of the land, & be grateful for all you have without being classically spiritual in the Christian sense. Maybe she didn’t mean to word it quite like she did, but that’s all I have to go on. I’m not condemning, just defending

    There is a low-tech solution to your outside door to the "spa building." A piece of chain fastened to the door, and the frame can be sized to limit how far the door will open. Mine has a bracket, so the chain can be removed from the frame side temporarily if the door needs to open wider. It keeps the hinges from bending. Our chain is light but strong. I can't post a picture here or I would show it.
