    It's important for us to celebrate the wins. For us this weekend, it was congregational engagement - people were very engaged in worship. I've listed a few thoughts about what contributed to that.

    I just wanted to comment from the perspective of a worship leader. I was happy to see the title of this video when it popped up. Sometimes you can spend a lot of time in prayer and preparation and ask God to use you to facilitate worship, and still fall flat. While it may be true, you cant judge whether a person is experiencing worship or not based solely on if they are singing, at the same time it is very discouraging to lead a silent congregation. I think every worship leader will experience this every once in a while. It is encouraging to hear that it can even happen in a "Mega Church". Basically when I watch videos like this it isn't to learn how I can force people to sing, it is to make sure I am doing everything I can to facilitate worship and not get in the way of it. Thank you Brian and Worship Tutorials! I always look forward to your videos!

    Leading people into the presence of God is not just a privilege, it is an amazing responsibility. There are times when believers need a little coaching to join in, or enter in. You do what you are being led to do. There is no automatic or instant response. Thanks for sharing Brian.

    Thanks Brian. I really enjoy watching and listening to the content you produce on your channel!
    As for the best thing about yesterday's service for me...
    Yesterday, I led "Your Name" by Paul Baloche in our English Ministry service and it was so incredibly encouraging to see a sister in Christ who I knew was struggling praise with her arms lifted high to the Lord. God truly knows our hearts!

    Always find your videos encouraging as a worship leader. Good advice on sharing the wins, I think I often find myself fixating on what we need to improve for the next week, and taking some time out to encourage is something I rarely make time for. Thanks for this!

    I play on our praise team, I switch between bass and acoustic guitar. What I see every Sunday is the entire church watches our worship leader, She is so filled with the HOLY spirit. Then they see our singers, you can see they love GOD, by the way they sing. It gets people involved. Soon the entire Church is singing. Sometimes I tell our praise team leader the angels stop to listen to our singers. They are awesome.

    i relate much to the topics here..i know God is calling me..in a right time to be use for His glory. i heard him talking to me..and He is taking me to a deeper kind of worship..leading people to God's presence is not easy when you are not connected to God and you are not connected to the congregation..my prayers..my desire to please God takes me into a more and more than i was expecting.. i see nothing wrong to listen and learn to people's experience coz i know we all experience different situation and to what we learn and can be share to other..so thank u for having time to share this with us..May God continue to bless u..shalom

    I'm so blessed watching this video! thank you so much! this video makes me want to be a better worship leader. because sometimes when I'm not connected with God & tired, I choose any song that came to my mind without considering the rhythm of the last or next song and the energy that we have to spend.
    thank you, Jesus bless you!

    Great Are You Lord is an example of simple, singable, God exalting songs that latch on to people's hearts very quickly. I have the same experience doing this song at our church. The people just start singing and we all back away from our mics just soaking in God's presence through congregational singing. It's beautiful! I also want to add that using keys that are people-friendly is HUGE. A lot of songs these days have almost impossible ranges that sound good only in the recording or when it's sung by a leader with insane range, going up an octave higher from a medium range. When we try to do it in a friendlier key, the song instantly loses its intensity and dynamics.

    There's a difference between people singing, participating and being engaged. We can all jump in and sing the happy birthday song without thinking it or we can make our audience "participate" when told to clap or raise their hands (if you're happy and you know it ...), but getting the audience to engage in a spiritual level it's a whole lot different thing. I enjoy these video series very much, but I feel that there's a subtle theme on most of these videos and that is of how to be a great performer and have a great stage presence and feel really good when audience get's involved cause your set was awesome, some of these videos talks about "honoring your audience" instead of honoring God, but that's debatable for some people. I don't mind "repetition" on songs, what does bother me are those songs with fluffy non-theologically rich lyrics (beautiful things, for example).

    Haha, I feel 3/4 of our church show up late so they don't have to worship, or sing. It's how I get a good seat just showing up on time.

    Great Video with good aspects. But I wanted to add sth: Don't you think that in first place texts (nearly quotes) based on the bible should be the tool nr1 to engage people to sing? I personally start to sing from my heart when i really understand what the lyrics are about and how they directly affect me. So for example our Worship Leader explains the situation David was in when he wrote a song which we sing at our service

    • @466edik
      @466edik 7 років тому

      This lets us experience Davids situation and brings the song closer to us

    Hey Brian, nice video. Just curious to know, why you don't like Christmas songs?

    • @lanegillespie6741
      @lanegillespie6741 7 років тому

      If I may reply, I don't like christmas songs because there are times when I hear them so many times, and they start sounding cliché. Basically, repetition can kill a song, but that is just my opinion.

    Reading some of the comments on here, maybe the title should’ve been, how to help encourage people to sing......, maybe then the undue criticism on the title wouldn’t have happened, I’ve been in churches where it’s been hard work on the side of praise & worship, regardless if I’ve been part of the worship team or in the congregation
    Psalm 100 sums it up nicely.....

  • @Grace4_All
    @Grace4_All 7 років тому

    My last comment and bit of advice if a congregation isn't singing and praising the lord. Then you need to ask the pastor to preach some sermons on the importance of worship and what it does. Use examples from,David's worship etc etc..Use the bible.,God will move hearts...His word. Ill never forget a sermon I herd on worship and the importance and wether you don't feel like worshipping or not to do it anyways bad days and good.,,

    And you talk about wins for you. and wins for your team...dude its not about you or the band when you worship Jesus its about Him and a win for Him...your not in a regular band and playing shows and when the crowd sings along its a success for the band...were talking about worshipping Jesus. ITS ABOUT HIM. WINS FOR HIM

      Grace 4 All You say you're not going to watch it, but you still do. Legit all he was doing was speaking about his own experiences and how it makes him joyful to see everyone praising God. There are many brothers and sisters in church that find it helpful when a song leader can encourage and find that connection with the congregation during worship, and some who are filled with the heart of worship and sing their heart out to God at all times themselves without the need for song introductions, etc. This video just encourages many worship leaders to try differrent ways to become a better song leader, It isn't ways to force people to sing. Worship is led by the Spirit, but its the song leaders gift to become that bridge and help the congregation open up their hearts and get into the time of worship, because for many it may be a new experience.

      Well one of the most discouraging things for a worship leader is to lead songs in front of a whole bunch of people who just stare at them without singing. It happens a lot, and many worship leaders wonder what they can do to encourage people to sing more.
      Maybe if you watch you'll change your opinion about the content that's in the video. Since you are commenting on the quality of it.

      Grace 4 All I don't think many people realize how important Praise and Worship is. Sadly a great many people who go to church don't spend any real time in prayer and Bible reading through the week and when they come to church they are dragging the cares of the world along with them. If a worship leader can get the congregation to sing (to engage) it helps to shift their focus from their problems to the One who can give them the strength and wisdom to deal with those problems. This, in turn, helps them to get more out of the entire service. I'm not saying this as a worship leader, I'm saying it as a pastor.

      Worship Tutorials it doesn't matter People sing to Jesus because they want to. there is no formula to make people praise the Lord...and if you are coming up with a method to make people sing in church ..than that's a shame...and it wouldn't be authentic. were talking about worshiping Jesus and praising him..not just singing a song.

    • @Grace4_All
      @Grace4_All 7 років тому +2

      Worship Tutorials do u want people singing along because of something you did or encouraged. or do you want people singing and praising because they love Jesus and its in there heart? im,sure there are many methods to get people to sing but its authentic. you can't alter the worshiping of Jesus.

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  7 років тому +4

      Have you still not watched the video? If you have, I think you'll see that I'm not proposing there is some formula to manipulate people.
      If you haven't watched the video, it's kind of difficult to engage in a conversation with someone when they refuse to listen to what you have to say.

    If they won't sing, that means they are lazy and spiritual dead, so sick of people bringing coffee into sanctuary and treating it like it is a bar! That's why I quit leading! They can go lead themselves! Or go hire someone to get a false hype going!
