Jumper man. While the new strainer was installed. You should always break the strainer open then repack it back with Teflon. That was the mistake they made with they installed that black steam strainer. I always make the pipers break and reps k strainers prior to installing.

I know you are tight on space, but viega requires a minimum 5/8 between the two fitting faces on 1 1/2” pipe to ensure correct seal
