@mrpelly I believe that is one of the problems. The other is climate. I live in Houston Texas, known for hot, humid summers. The plants do fine until about June and then start a decline. I've even tried growing them in a sunny window indoors where it's air conditioned but I never seem to get much of a root system. They are more like an annual for me.
@@wendy5006 Ahh, I see. Yes in hot conditions pelargoniums effectively shut down and watering them during those times is domed to failure. We only get these conditions in the UK a few times over the summer lasting just a few days at a time and I don’t water during these periods. I can only suggest growing them in the shade outside and just give them a light watering in the evening every two or three days. D
@mrpelly I'll give that a try starting next spring. For now, the only Survivor is a citronella which tolerates our conditions. New pelargoniums ( called geraniums here) won't be available in my region til around Mother's day/April.
Hola siempre me an encantado tus hermosos pelargonios ❤❤❤❤
Great update…hope you receive good news of your move soon
Hi David, Really good to compare the cut back standards and to know how you are combatting diseases.
❤❤❤
Thanks for the tour and update!
Beautiful 🎉🎉
Best wishes for the move. Nice to see some of the 'Shrivenham' plants - can you recommend where to find the plants you bred now?
@@pippas5808 Thanks. Most of them are available from Fibrex nursery although I must give them a Shrivenham Star to sell.
so gorgeous. Just wish I had more success in growing pelargoniums
@@wendy5006 Usually the biggest problem for people that find difficulty in growing them is that they simply give them too much water.
