I'm glad Vortex finally came to the game, have a shield plus, bought a crimson trace red dot for but haven't mounted it, still in box. I wer glasses and sometimes the dots are not crisp for me. My irons are great, I wanna try and get into this red dot thing 🤷 little hesitant lol
Yeah same for me. You probably have astigmatism. I do and the dot isn't very crisp.
14 hour shutoff is mega fail. why can only holosun and sig get that shutoff right? these do not have years of battery life. and red dots that do are a scam because its never a useable setting thats rated. 14 hours everytime it moves. it will always be on. you will have to play worrysome battery games with this every other month . with a 10 min shutoff you can get YEARs out of a battery. confidently. at a useable setting. vortex needs to get updated here
Dude I only edc Holosuns but Mecanik M01 has autoshutoff 60K battery and a 6year warranty also theres a brand called Gowutar that has shake awake ,7075 alluminum, 50k battery for under $100 . Thinking of mounting one on a budget Dagger build
Holosun makes disgustingly tough optics with smart technology. Other companies make tough optics with old battery technology.
You say Sig, but the Romeozero elite is a manual shutoff as far as I know. The larger Sig sights aren't really worth anything since Holosun exists (the expensive Sig optics are solid, but they are prohibitively priced).

I have an rmr that i havent chaged the battery in in 2 years stays on 24/7 still works just fine
370 days at power 6 always on . Lol not a mega fail by any means .
Do you know if it has a NV setting because that’s one thing vortex has really been missing out on and would be great combo for the spitfire 5x

Which screws do you use with the picatinny mount? I guess the longest ones, but it's weird that they don't say. I have a universal mount on my CZ; I guess I would just use the longest screws for that too.

If this does not have a touch and wake up feature then it's worthless. Also you have to remove it to change the battery which means dialing back in each time. Pass
Top mount battery, you dont have to remove it.....
Not sure where you're getting your information but the battery is top-load so you don't need to remove the sight in order to change it and it does have motion-activation to turn back on if the dot automatically turned off.
@Vortex Optics how come you don't reply to the posts when people complain about your below industry standard battery time and god awful 14 hour shut off? If I pick up the gun just to move it or open my safe to get another gun, this thing turns on for half a day

Yup, I had to use an open emitter for a day or two, and I was blowing hair and lint out in short order. Made me extremely happy to get my EPSc equipped slide back. Holosun, unfortunately, is so far ahead of the pack at this point that it's unfair. Open emitter is a little more level of a playing field, but outside of competition, I see no reason to look at anything other than an enclosed emitter. Holosun, Steiner, Aimpoint, Swampfox, and Sig have all been putting in work, and Vortex has been depending on an ancient red dot while they push their other products. I was really hoping that they were secretly working on something really nice behind the scenes. But an open emitter that doesn't compete with the SRO? Instead, they try to muscle in on the CCW market.
Oh well, maybe they will listen to customer feedback, and we will see something nice in the next year or two.

I suppose I'm wondering why anybody would make this after the holosun eps carry.
This was clearly in the works for some time now, however, I wonder how shocked vortex was at the unveiling of the eps. Must have gone back and discussed even releasing this to the market or scrap and restart.
Personally I think the Chinese have made products so cheap that they can be "switched off" in times of war, however, I don't see myself buying this at the same price of a green eps.
All these years and Vortex comes out with this? No new innovative tech. They added shake awake but the auto shutoff is too long. This feels like it was rebranded from something else.
