Any idiot can tell by just looking at it it's a direct rip off of the Glock. That all fine and dandy. I have many Glocks and I'm gonna buy a new sd9ve.
My SD9VE has the barrel you're talking about. I've had much trouble with that barrel from Apex. It will jamb when firing. All the time. When I put the original barrel will fire flawlessly. I've tried comparing the Apex barrel with the original to see if there are very small differences. It just will not slide smoothly enough to eject the spent bullet. It's come down to sanding off the coating in order to get to a smooth barrel. I've already changed out the trigger with the Apex trigger and am pleased with the result.

No it's not lol
Finally they made an extended barrel for this gun.
I'm so mad i can't find it for the 40 and will have to find a smith :'(
Apex doesn't offer the sd40 threaded extended barrel YET but i love it on my sd9 makes a WORLD of a difference in accuracy
@@trappedbanana7240 You've seen good improvement in accuracy? I was curious about that.
@@donttreadonmining9146 very. I can shoot about 4 inch spread at 55-60 yards haven't tried anything passed that and eats 115 grain for breakfast.. stock barrel would have maybe 4 or 5 rounds even hit the paper at that range. Very well worth the investment.
@@trappedbanana7240 Awesome. Thanks for the insight. Appreciate you taking the time to reply. 👍
Why would you put a sun roof in you slide ?
Shhhiiitt, CA ripped me off when I bought the SD40VE paying a whopping $540 after taxes and all other fees they added to it.
I would love it if they make a Sd40ve treaded barrel
I think that barrel would fit a sd40ve
I have a SW9VE have had it for years paid 250. for it love it great pistol. Ill bet that barrel will work in it with some help, or maybe with no help ????
Do you know anyone who's tried to put the sd9ve threaded Barrel in the sw9ve if so would you let me know.
Hey man thumbs up for me like the video like the gun I have one myself and it's funny because I have my gun already upgraded the way you have and I got the threaded barrel of course and it looks awesome in my opinion the gun is worth it I like taking it to the range and it shoots like a dream I want to do a little bit more upgrades to it
How much is the threaded barrel
How many rounds did the magazine hold and where did you purchase it from? Thanks
The one thing I hate about my SD9VE is the cheap laser etching on the side...
Hey man I love your videos on your sd9ve pistol because its alot of help on upgrades for mine. What exactly do I need to ask for to get my slide modified with the open port that you added to yours to help reduce heat? Also what do I need to ask for to add mounting capability for a red dot sight like you added to yours? Thanks for all the help man
Both of those are machined. If you don't have access to milling equipment, talk to a machine shop or a gunsmith and they can point you in the right direction.
What sight did you install
The real question is if you can drop this in an sd40ve slide and frame.... I feel i have to call Mythbusters to figure this on out man 😂😂
The standard factory 9mm does so I would think that it would.
@@JettBlast alright so i ended up getting an SW9VE barrel and trying this... Since i have the California Compliant version the barrel is cut differently for the loaded chamber indicator... It simply did not fit because of that section as far as i could tell. Maybe the CA compliant Sd9ve barrel would work but i have not found one for a good price and i kind of wasted money on this old (now) useless barrel lol... I dont think I'll try again anytime soon, im gonna go for a Glock 22 built with a 9mm conversion barrel
@@GTduzIt So you have a standard S&W SD9VE barrel I am sure you can sell it to someone who has a standard S&W SD40VE with little problem.
What holster do you have? I cant find one thats at least a lvl2 with light attachment option
I have an SD VE S&W 40 I would like the threaded Barrel would be nice, I love love love my 40 so a lot so would be cool for an upgrade like that.
I paid 300 for my SD9 and 300 for my SD40VE. (My SD9 was 425 total because it had a crimson trace laser on it....i figure its 300 without the laser)
i love my 9ve, these guns are so similar to glocks that glock took out a lawsuit, theyre practically identical internally, ive shot both, i love both, and i just "pulled the trigger" on this barrel for mine (pun definitely intended) i plan on fluting it
Bro, I just order my Apex barrel and a upgraded trigger as well; for my SD9.by the way your gun looks great 💯 quick question!? Where do you purchased the red dot sight and the flashlight if you can drop the name of it. Thanks 🤙🏽
Check out Crisis Gear!
Hay bud would u do slide cut out for a customer
I found a S&W m&p 9mm threaded barrel for cheap, do you think it work with my sd9ve?? Im reading online it fits in the slide, but nobodys mentioned firing it. What do you think? Just curious of everyones opinion
As long as the threaded barrel fits in ur slide, firing shouldn't be an issue. The bullet passes through the barrel not the slide, u should be fine
What's the benefit of having a threaded barrel? So you could put a silencer on it?
So you can put any attachment on it
Your great I enjoy your video's and APEX .
In the middle of deciding whether i want to dump some money into the sd9ve to make it trick and perform better, or just sell and go for something a little more expensive, its my first handgun and i like it but i also dont have much to compare it to. Of the 3 others i shot, a mp shield 2.0 9mm and a watlher 9mm mine would be 3rd on that list at the moment. Lol
I think u should just keep the SD9VE but still get another handgun. I also have a MP .40 2.0 that I absolutely love and wouldnt give or trade for anything in this world! But I also wanted to get a piece that the ammo was cheaper and better availability hence the SD9VE and its a Smith and Wesson, love their reliability and they have been around for quite sometime so they make a quality gun and priced for the average american that lives pay check to pay check, lol!
Can i screw a 16 in barrel on this? Apex makes one
The only question is that this New Treaded Barrel Must be able to accept the standard 9 MM Threads to be able to screw on the 9 MM Pistol Compensator
Can any machine shop do the machine work for the red dot, or does it have to be someone that does guns. You said you're to busy. Do you have anyone that you recommend ?
