Thanks for the video it took me back to my childhood. I’m originally from Nayarit and raised here in the United States since I was an infant. That teacher in my grade school and you inspire me to fallow my culture even if it’s not original but the idea is there. Thank you

What can I do if I have too much wax on my finished project. It’s coming out in the spaces in between the beads.

where do you get pine pitch? Can you buy bees wax and pine pitch already combined? .......I made a bowl like this when i was a little kid around 10 or 12 years old, i can remember i used some kind of clay to make it and the bowl turned out great, i wish i still had it...but the clay thing wasn't right...

Looks handmade. Possibly a Kemper tool handle with a backwards rivet in place of the original tool end.

It's traditionally a mix of beeswax and pine pitch

How do you make the beads permanent?
Clear resin pour over. But you'll lose the bead texture to the smooth clear resin finish.

I think you are doing a good job, don't mind people who talks shit if they know so much about Wixarica /Huichol they should show how they do it but the only thing they do is type s***. Keep up the good work!
There are many tutorials from authentic huichol people here, so please show respect for our culture.
Your work is beautiful, no doubt about it. But don’t call that “Huichol”. Show a little more respect of other cultures. Huichol shapes and designs have a very important meaning. My country’s cultures are more than just hobby handicrafts.
Your from mexico? You look like a Spaniard/white from spain.
This is not huichol, but just bead work! Huichol is an indigenous art by Mexican people with meaning in each color and design. Please respect the culture.
I honestly can't believe the amount of very rude and uncalled-for posts. I find nothing wrong with this video and am grateful that she made it. Like Pam said, if you think it needs to be done according to your so called ways, make a video and share it with everyone. And please, do it in English for those that don't speak the language.
It’s huichol style. Many mexican artists that are not from the Huichol culture make many items using this technique. Respect the artist and if you don’t like it then move on for goodness sake. Things that are American style aren’t called by "our culture’s" name but duplicated, reproduced and sold. I can’t imagine why people are so easily offended!
To people saying white washing a tradition/culture, come on it's just a person getting inspire by others and making some crafts, don't discriminate. People are people... I love wixarika art and i know this is not how they do it. But take it easy.

This is not even close to real huichol, please learn how to do it like our people do it.

This is so not huichol,this is huichol wanna be,the huicholes uses diferent technics and different tools,the wax that they use is called campeche wax and it can be purchased in mexico.
