What is a Fleegle?
Переглядів 2903 роки тому
A Fleegle beader is a tool for knitters to add beads to their knitting. You can string the beads you want first onto the yarn, and slide a bead up into the stitch or you can use the fleegle tool to put a bead directly over the stitch. The difference in the finished piece is that the fleegled beads are visible on both sides of the knitting, whereas the knitted beads are mostly on the one side. W...
Creativity to Fall Asleep to - Antiquing Cast Concrete Pendants with Surf Sounds.

Fall asleep listening to surf sounds and watching me antique some cast concrete pendants. The concrete is Artists Concrete (a finer grade than you would get at the hardware store) - you can get it here: www.beadfx.com/catalogue/concrete-and-pigments-c-62_1179/create-recklessly-artists-concrete-white-base-colour-8-oz-p-50282.htmlAnd the "paint" I used are the Vintaj Patina's for Metal - which wo...

Bracelets

A bunch of fun bracelets made with left over beads! What to do with the leftovers! All these bracelets are made with leftovers, and beads that didn't get included, beads bought for a project that was then abandoned, projects that never got off the ground, the pile of beads that I don't remember what I bought them for ... They make up into a lovely bracelets. Stretchy Opelon cord, a big eye need...

I can't believe I've only just come across this gadget! I'm tempted to invest in one for my glass studio. But you say the motor is just 1/20 hp. Sounds a bit underpowered?
Very classy 😅

Great tutorial! Thank you. Will you post more tutorial with this kind of technique?
This is an Ad not a teaching video. People are searching for this because they have already been frustrated by the other methods. They are looking for info on the Fleegle beader and want to know what it is and how it works. Those questions are at at the tail end of this video and they fly by so fast you leave still not knowing how to use it and you are as frustrated as you started. Don't waste your time watching this one.
Thank you for sharing this great tutorial. I’m going to try to order your tool. I have dual citizenship with both U.S and Mexico and nothing offends me with your style of art.😊

How am I to know that are true Swarovski
That's a really good question - and may well be part of the reason why Swarovski bailed from the so-called "DIY" market - although we don't much care for that term around here. DIY conjures up thoughts of building decks and power tools - not really the same thing. Anyway - the BEST way is to buy them in the original, sealed, packaging. Over the years, the packaging has changed, but it is quite distinctive - a paper package, folded just so, with a hologram seal. The larger pieces came in shaped trays, in a cardboard sleeve, also with a carefully folded end. Once a package is opened, there is no way to reseal it and have it not be obvious that it was opened. However, not very practical. Look for sharp facets, polished holes, and Swarovski developed some distinctive faceting patterns that were expensive to duplicate. The older larger pieces were actually laser etched with the Swan logo too, for a while. Much like identifying stones - exposure and handling them will also help you identify the real thing. And buying from reputable sources too, of course! :^)
YEAH, I THINK YOU NEED TO REVISIT THE TITLE OF YOUR VIDEO, THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT HUICHOL ART. BUT IS A NICE PIECE.
Ahora también quieren robar su arte.
This is not huichol, but just bead work! Huichol is an indigenous art by Mexican people with meaning in each color and design. Please respect the culture.
How do you make the beads permanent?
Clear resin pour over. But you'll lose the bead texture to the smooth clear resin finish.
Thanks for the video it took me back to my childhood. I’m originally from Nayarit and raised here in the United States since I was an infant. That teacher in my grade school and you inspire me to fallow my culture even if it’s not original but the idea is there. Thank you
How do you deal with the inconsistent bead size issue?
que numero de chaquira?
I think I'm hooked...oh no!! Lol!
where do you get pine pitch? Can you buy bees wax and pine pitch already combined? .......I made a bowl like this when i was a little kid around 10 or 12 years old, i can remember i used some kind of clay to make it and the bowl turned out great, i wish i still had it...but the clay thing wasn't right...
Your work is beautiful, no doubt about it. But don’t call that “Huichol”. Show a little more respect of other cultures. Huichol shapes and designs have a very important meaning. My country’s cultures are more than just hobby handicrafts.
Your from mexico? You look like a Spaniard/white from spain.
Salve vorrei iniziare. Mi può spiegare dove reperire tutti i materiali?
What can I do if I have too much wax on my finished project. It’s coming out in the spaces in between the beads.
I honestly can't believe the amount of very rude and uncalled-for posts. I find nothing wrong with this video and am grateful that she made it. Like Pam said, if you think it needs to be done according to your so called ways, make a video and share it with everyone. And please, do it in English for those that don't speak the language.
It’s huichol style. Many mexican artists that are not from the Huichol culture make many items using this technique. Respect the artist and if you don’t like it then move on for goodness sake. Things that are American style aren’t called by "our culture’s" name but duplicated, reproduced and sold. I can’t imagine why people are so easily offended!
Thank you Pam. Great video!
I think you are doing a good job, don't mind people who talks shit if they know so much about Wixarica /Huichol they should show how they do it but the only thing they do is type s***. Keep up the good work!
There are many tutorials from authentic huichol people here, so please show respect for our culture.
To people saying white washing a tradition/culture, come on it's just a person getting inspire by others and making some crafts, don't discriminate. People are people... I love wixarika art and i know this is not how they do it. But take it easy.
Lo malo es que denomina huichol a algo que no es, por eso es mejor con confundir.
This isn't "Huichol", stop whitewashing my culture. Our art is sacred and holds significant importance within our culture - stop bastardizing Indigenous traditions.
Laura Gee exactly!!!!!!!!
This is not even close to real huichol, please learn how to do it like our people do it.
So teach a class yourself. Let us know when and where classes are.
@@pamgascoyne9718 it is not traditional authentic huichol. It is what it is.
NOT huichol this is horrible this is white washing Mexican tradition
Then you and others who know how to do this technique so well need to start teaching others if you are offended by what she is doing. Do you teach somewhere now? Maybe tell everyone where so they can join your classes.
Es solo una clase, ya sabemos que es arte huichol, no tienes que ofender, y que bueno que a un extranjero le guste, o no crees
Sorry, Huichol is a North American Indigenous tribe. It is not Mexican.
This is so not huichol, this is huichol wanna be,the huicholes uses diferent technics and different tools, the wax that they use is called campeche wax and it can be purchased in mexico.
To reiterate; teach a class yourself.
@@pamgascoyne9718 it is not traditional authentic huichol. It is what it is.
