That old stuff is very interesting but I noticed you have a 30 amp fuse on 14 gauge wire which is not good. I would take ALL that old stuff out & run a new line, conduit to a brand new COPPER bus panel & run conduit to all your outlets that need to be gfi protected. As long as you dont use the plug on neutral feature a Square D QO panel would be my first choice or a Siemens one with ONLY the COPPER BUS FEARTURE. Since this is an outbuilding, you will need a master main breaker in your panel. Depending on what you are doing a 60 amp 120/240 volt with an equipment ground from your main panel to your subpanel would be your best choice. That main safety switch is very interesting & that sideways mounted fuse box. I would leave that equipment in place totally disconnected just for show once you have the new equipment installed. I would have to say that equipment since it looks like it has a solid neutral bar would date back to 1930. Ive done jobs where they have a fuse on both the hot & neutral which would be from the 20s
Dude don't wreck your little building. Get a new breaker panel and conduit and wiring that you can just hang on the walls or ceilings along with some new outlets. When you are done using it you can remove some screws and take it all down and all the old stuff is still there.
That old gas station building is cool. Must have an interesting history. Will make a good cooking shack !

That old building looks like a great bunkie ! With a small woodstove in there
I really like that the building was saved from a past time. There is your “man cave”.
Had to take some Dramamine to offset The Blair Witch Project camerawork. But I'm ok now.
😂
