      Sadly yes, but there is a little mistake in the Fotodiscription. The Aquarium wasn't inside the elevator, the elevator was inside the Aquarium! The Aquarium was named "Aqua-Dom" at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Berlin Alexander Place. It collapsed on Okt 16. 2022.

    I lived in Germany, yet this still fascinated me. Good to see Germany offers cheap ambulance treatment. In at least one Australian state ambulance is user free for residents. The fees you hear from American ambulance providers is ridiculous, but then again, their whole EMS system is years behind the likes of Australia, the UK, Ireland and many European nations.

      We call such charges in the States here "a racquet". The medical trifecta establishment here (Big Pharma, big hospitals, and big health insurance corporations) have the strongest lobbyists everywhere around DC and push their best interests quite hard at extremely high taxpayers' expense with absurd results (such as high bills for ambulance rides for starters). Nearly all politicians here of all political styles work harder for medical donors than taxpayers as a result. America has the best medical research and development in general but we pay heavily for otherwise expensive results. Like I said, it is a huge racquet.

    I lived in Germany too, for many years, and at my local graveyard there were shared watering cans. They were though hanging on a rack, next to a faucet, but weren't locked. You could take one or more, fill'em up, take to the grave you've been attend8ng, and afterwards return the emptied (or not) cans to their place.
    One thing, that was imho really missing in this compilation, are the machines for returning drink bottles and cans, located near the entry to a grocery store. For those of you, who don't know what I mean: In Germany (and some other countries around the world) the price of every beverage sold in plastic bottles or metal cans includes a fee for the later recycling of the empty container. To encourage people to sort their rubbish and not throw away those bottles/cans randomly but take them to a collection point (for easier reuse/recycling) one decided to pay back that fee for every returned container. In most countries, mainly referring to glass bottles, you can return them in the shop, or exchange for a new, full one without having to pay that fee. Germany took advantage of this and placed collection machines in the entry space of supermarkets/grocery stores, which accept your empty containers, as long as they aren't damaged too much, and exchange them for a voucher with the value of the fees of the containers you returned. That voucher can be used to decrease your shopping bill in that very store; and it doesn't matter what you are buying.

    Great pictures. Although I've seen a lot in Germany, I didn't know all of them.
    About the different lights in East and West Berlin: I've already seen the picture years ago and read somewhere that it's very old and that they changed it meanwhile. I don't know if that is true. Would be interesting to know because that picture is shown over and over again as if it still were true. Maybe Berlin has managed it during the past 33 years to get their streetlamps on a modern and energy efficient level in all parts of the city.

    The big slide in the Technical university in Munich is actually at the Mathematics and computer science department. There was a competition and the winners designed the big slide based on mathematics.
    z = y = h x²/d²
    *h* represents the height from ground floor till 4th floor.
    And *d²* represents the range from both ends.
    The *x-y* is the ground floor level and the z-axis is the main part of the slide.
    The z-axis shows vertically upwards and the origin is at vertex of the parabola.

    Only the first through fourth grade in Germany are elementary school. After that there are three kinds of schools. Some prepare you to go right to work after you finish your schooling. Others prepare you for vocational or technical school. Still others prepare you to go to college. The last type goes up to thirteenth grade and you can only get in if you have passed an exam.

    • @vic9543
      @vic9543 Рік тому +5

      Your description is probably correct for some areas, but schooling in Germany is regulated by the Federal States, so the structures and laws vary quite a bit. For example, elementary school can last from the first to the fourth, fifth or sixth grade, depending on were you live. And the number of school types to enter after finishing elementary school varies from two (Middle School and Gymnasium) to five (Hauptschule, Realschule, Gymnasium, Sekundarschule and Gesamtschule). There are also schools for kids with special needs.
      The Gymnasium, which shell prepare for college/university, can last eight or nine years. You don’t need to pass an exam to enter it in every Federal State. (And there are other schools like Berufskollegs that provide a diploma allowing to enter university.)

    I barely understand the concept of those videos... You take about 50 photos of some random places of a country to "prove" it is different? Surprise, surprise - EACH country differs from another! 😉 Most of those installations / buildings / whatever is shown occur in only one or very few places, and are not representative for the whole country.
    Interesting though: That these items exist at all, and I enjoy to see what is possible / created all over the world.
    At least you included a few things that ARE suitable to emphasize something typical for a country like traditions, mentality, habits, regulations etc.; e.g. the "Rettungsgasse" (emergency lane) on German highways in case of traffic jam, or the great, affordable health insurance system (just 10,- € for an ambulance ride for example). 👍

    1- people still like to see live animals.
    2- is cool and should be done everywhere.
    3- is dumb skin tight outfits are still sexy, your never gonna get rid of everything sexual.
    4- That german hotel HAS to, because many of its "Guests" are people who have no idea what Human rights are, Most people even in America.. but certainly the west already know not to go out and kidnap young girls.. its an islam problem.. which could also be fixed by a Bible if they read it lol.
    6- Pods for homeless are a great idea i'd love to see them world wide, something you can lock from inside (but police can open) but you can also wash inside of and create warmth in winter would be great.
    8- Tampon Tax is a choice people could make - i wonder if progress in that area is made though knowing you'd make less money creating a new Tampon for Germany?
    Had to stop counting most of these are DUMB and are either ART or something cool you could also find SOMEWHERE ELSE!
    Womens parking is a great idea, just like Disabled parking.. i wonder how well its policed though.
    Geometrical parking... just looks like it'd be confusing.. if it works cool but.. yikes.. i notice the numbers.. everyone has their own spot? and it must be one way? is that how it works?
    That elevator with fish around it.. its gone and they wont make it again.. it blew up for some unknown reason LOL.
    Puke sinks are.. in theory a nice idea, i wouldn't mind a tap to wash my face after too...
    Electic highway is cool, but i doubt its just for pollution reduction and it must be nice that you have a route you can do that.. in America there is far too many roads, and in NZ we have far too much random roads, all types going up and down the south island that this couldn't work for.
    This thing has been broken forever.. isn't really a good thing? it just shows how lazy the workmen or people hiring them are LOL

    • @dawfydd
      @dawfydd 3 місяці тому

      Most of this is just "Look some Art that is subjective.." which you can find superior or less so in any other country.. yes some pretty views but i live in Middle Earth i'm not impressed.
      A lot of this just seems like "I wanna brag" but really.. its not that much better than the rest of the world you really should get out and explore the world if you think Germany is the best place.
      Much of the world is really cool.

      Just mentioning - these "electric highways" are just a few small parts over short distances; and just 2 or 3 truck-companys use them for "tests". if they want to drive down the "autobahn", they had to start the diesel-engine again... so, it might be just a "little" point in "try to get cleaner Traffic". the Problem will always be trucks from other europe states, who won't have such a system - and can't use it; and it's a expensive Mainetance-point for the Trucks, 'cause they need a diesel-engine with a gearbox as even a electric engine and batteries (even if they're small) - so, a long distance trip won't work at the moment. I just know that there's a part near Frankfurt, Germany at the A5, and another part in Gaggenau - offside the Autobahn on a national road, who even had such a system. for my part, i never have seen such a truck in nature... even when i know how they're are build up, 'cause there's a documentation about it here on youtube.
      for the nuclear power plants - they were to old, and it might have be a risk to let them run - so they had to need shut down. on the other hand, they even don't have a "newer" plan of "how to set up nuclear power plants", so they even won't do that - and even coal is partwise exported to other countrys, even when we have here settles up not long ago a new coal-power plant. that's a bad thing, i know... but the people even don't wand wind-turbines, and literally not many think about water-turbines (who are mostly used for the "deutsche bahn" as Power-source).

      Try a nuclear catastrophe vs a coal catastrophe and get back to us.

      @@pegamini7582 The problem with nuclear power is not only what happens when it breaks but mainly when it works "normally". Cancer rates in the vicinity rise significantly (and these cases are not included in the statistics you've cited) and getting rid of or storing the nuclear waste safely is still an unsolved problem. If you factored the costs for even the short-term storage into the the price per Watt, nuclear energy would never be feasible economically. Sadly in Germany that hot potato was offloaded to the tax-payer. Glad it's now a thing of the past.

      @@12345fowler Oh right, because I'm sure the pollution caused by coal power plant hasn't made millions of people ill over decades. If you really think "catastrophes" such as Tchernobyl is the bigger risk compared to the pollution from all the coal industries over the world, you really are naive.
      The truth is that nuclear is the safest of all of them, it has caused less death even with tchernobyl and even if you count people who developed cancer after that event.
