Milkman THE AMP 100 pedalboard amplifier

- In the Amp 100, an internal FET boost starts at unity gain and can work as an ‘always on’ EQ sweetener, subtly boosting midrange frequencies, or as a powerful drive pushing the 12AX7 tube into full saturation. The boost sits between the triodes of the preamp tube. Placing the boost internally preserves interaction between the instrument input and the first tube stage, and also increases headroom so that The Amp 100 can still work well with external drive and boost pedals.
The Amp 100 has a dual control reverb system, adding a control for decay time as well as reverb blend. The decay control ranges from a short room like reverb sound to a full tank spring splash with classic drip.

Man, you're the kind of player who can play anything. It's a joy listening to you.
RJ, such tastefully, patient. bluesy playing! Everyone knows you can shred, but it's clear you are really listening to the music you're floating over with your guitar phrasing. Great stuff!
Wow man that was killer playing! Such a wicked variety!
Agreed !!! You just hit the right notes !!! It’s awesome !!! Very inspiring!!
Sounds majestic
This looks like a great, versatile amp. So many tones!
The Milkman is on my short list! Good stuff RJ!!
i could listen to your playing all day!
Great demo RJ!! I have the original 50w version, which changed my world for playing at home and as a backup at gigs, but the boost in this and other changes are amazing. Keep up the great work!!
The all round master shows the way again how to play , keep it coming RJ
That’s an impressive device used the right way. Tim is a serious player in the amp making field, i have one of is amp and i love it 😻. but this thing to record directly looks like a great option ... great playing as always RJ
Sounding fantastic!!
Cool amp. You, Greg Koch, and Chris Buck are probably the most entertaining guitarists today. Simply awesome to watch!
Stellar playing R.J.
Sounds really good 👍🏻
Sound brilliant. Great demo and playing RJ! If you ever move to France I need to get lessons from ya!
Wow... only half way through and so many killer tomes!! 😎🎸🤘
And it’s got BOOST too
Awesome review!
Oooh, that Gemini! I've got this amp and the Spaceman Sputnik, which is pretty rad. But think I need that Gemini too.
Bro that fuzz tone was nutty
Smooth playin' on a double bound Tele. Dang. A cup of joe and this track make for a Film Noir moment.
I can dig it
Dang that sounds awesome!!!! A lot of that is of course R.J. Finger tone but still.
Wow that thing sounds killer....
RJ + TM = 🤘🏻
Why aren't these outselling Fender Tonemasters? Seriously, I'm digging the sounds and the playing equally! This MUST have a tube somewhere inside- I'm saying this early in the video, perhaps later in the video it will be said, but the sound and feel are hard to deny!
Yup, there's a preamp tube.
Milkman really do the best that can be done with that kind of amp design. I rolled with a class D power amp with an external tube preamp for years, it never sounded as good as this amp on every demo.
Love the tones and playing! What speaker was this played through?
Hey RJ! What pickups are on the Tele? That humbucker and the bridge pickup seem to match so well, that's not something you see everyday.
Is this backing track available on your site? If so wat volume is it included with? Thanks! Great playing!
Hi R.J.!
How does it compare to the BLUG AMP1?
Thanks in advance for the answer.
Just curious, how did you record the version that didnt use the built in cab sim?
Great reviews! Can you tell me about brand of AC cable How I buy it Thank :)
Rapsa 😎
So I'm watching this again for the damn performance! Nicely done. Anyway today I heard that there will be no Russian tubes and that China had a factory fire and isn't likely to rebuild. Electro-harmonics already said that they could not honor some orders. Basically tube amps are probably going to be less and less an option in the future is the fear. I REALLY hate it..but seeing this I'm encouraged. Please check behind me but I'm pretty sure I'm right. What does everyone think?
Heavily considering getting rid of my amps and switching to a pedal amps. Im torn between the Milkman Amp 50 or 100, and the Victory Dutchess V4. I like the feature set more on the Dutchess, but i like how the Milkman doesnt sound so bright from all the demos ive heard on both amps. I also really like the tone of the Thermion Zero, which is a solid state preamp, but its a full stereo pedal sized amp. I would really love to use the Thermion Zero and either the Milkman or the Dutchess together for a Wet, Dry, Wet rig. That would be so cool! For a clean player that doesnt use much dirt or even edge of breakup type tones, just simply squeaky clean, would u suggest the Milkman Amp 50 or 100? I prefer the tremolo over the boost, but from what ive heard from demos so far the Amp 100 has more headroom before breaking up.
Def the 100! Way more headroom
Keep in mind it’s 50 watts into a 2ohm speaker, for a normal 8 ohm speaker it’s 25 watts. If you want to play with drums, get the 100. Ive used them both, same sound otherwise. The boost with the knob turned down is a nice sound too. More tone options.
Just curious if you bought the Milkman? I'm considering the Thermion and Milkman. Both sounds good and I like the analog pedal it offers.
100w, for the headroom.
@@2tallB most helpful comment, people always forget about the resistance. Thank you for reminding me, i'm def getting the 100 now.
Can u use this with a regular PA? Like a qsc speaker or a bose s1 pro?
Hmmm-- This one or the Victory V4 Duchess?
Awesome ! But in Mexico it costs around 17,000 pesos.
More than my guitar (Heritage VIP II - 1985), so, it's unreachable...
Ooohwwh, that’s a sexy looking pedal.
Sounds like my setup right now. Just pedals and a cheap home stereo system that only has tone knobs :(
Anyone know the green guitar brand model on minute 2?
Novo custom built by Dennis Fano in Nashville.
He’s right it is a Novo. The model called Serus J.
Creamy crazy pedal amp power , does it also come in malted for the “brown sound” or a 50watt version called 2% ( with a .1 watt Skim option) ?
There is a 50 watt version, with a tremolo instead of the boost.
what make is that Strat?
What are amp makers, especially those like milkman, victory and others that make high end boutique amps, telling us when they put their name on a product like this that isn’t base on old school technology (tube technology) and doesn’t cost $3000+.
Is this them telling us, you don’t need to buy a $3k amp to get good tone?
It’s a compromise
I think they’re trying to give you a taste of what you can have and give you a cheaper entry point. You may never buy a $3000 amp, but if you had excellent experience with a $700-$1000 amp and want to upgrade, you’re much more likely to consider a brand you already trust.
Would this pair well with an HX Effects?
That's what I'm thinking, I'm sure the two would be awesome.
Yes. It would. I use an HX Effects with The Amp 50 and I think that works great, but a little more headroom would be even better.
Great playing but that thing just sounded stiff and Shrill to me. Not my style.
Why does this not have the tremolo setting?
The Amp 50 has the trem, but the Milkman wanted to do something different for the Amp 100.
ill go with a Yamaha portable...this thing sounds horrific
you're nuts
