They are very, very similar. In parkour, I mostly use the palm of my hand rather than the outside edge. The most important thing in both rolls: never roll on your spine, but across your shoulders and right next to your spine.
i been in martial arts from young as i could walk now 53 still at it i have studied and practiced many self defense arts for this reason and because GOD always is with me from day 1 in Aikido i read the book pictures all of it and some of the writings in the book AIKIDO AND THE DYNAMIC SPHERE by the founder of Aikido surprisingly to say i understood this in the very 1st day of Aikido practice and true i was attacked by 2 attackers and on my own thinking on the book i picked up 2 techniques not in the book but self understood because of the book and GOD alerting me 1 was the technique above shown i do not know its name so i called it sit down to think on it because the attackers did not know how to role i had to hold there hands and gently slowly lower them down to the ground so they would sit down rather then the full technique above the other was i do to them what i called the walk of life so as they attacked i just grabbed there hand and coursed them to walk on my side away from me disarming both attackers this fight went on for around 30 m or so then they just kept on attacking me until they just gave up i coursed no injury to my self or opponents they became my students and now got discipline not to pick fights any more i said to them you are lucky i spared you 2 because others that do combat may not spare you next time you must learn not to make trouble and keep away from harms way from THEMIS KOUTRAS
@@zpallonari yeah, but to be honest, i answered so the people that had the same question would see it. I really didn't expect you to receive my answer hahaha
"Ukemi" means receiving and "nage" means throw. "Ukemi Nage" or「受け身投げ」refers to cooperative ukemi practise, where tori throws uke with a focus on helping uke to learn or practice ukemi. I'm not sure if this is grammatically correct Japanese or not, but it's not merely a typo.
This is a nice basic ukemi instruction. but the Japanese is nonsensical. There is no such thing as "ukemi nage". Just call it "ukemi practise", "ukemi renshu", "ukemi no genri" or whatever. Nothing wrong with Japanese titles for a Japanese art, but please don´t make up nonsensical language.

mike jones looks like a combination of keanu reeves and timothy oliphant
Is it supposed to hurt the shoulder when you roll forward?
Or any other body parts for that matter...?
Shouldn't. Not on the mat anyway.
Renegade Tokki probably no . they already studied how to do safe fall/roll .. even not on the mat you can actually roll without hurting yourself
I love it thak you
the front roll would be like a parkour roll??
Yeah it basically the same thing
@@jestfullgremblim8002 Hahaha thanks. Wasn't really expecting an answer for a 10yo comment, but thank you though
