Flatbush Cats you are awesome! I love all your videos and follow your instagram. Winston is so sweet and I'm so glad he's been adopted! ♥️
For flees I swear by diatomaceous Earth Food Grade ONLY. Stuff is amazing so long as you don't soak it, very safe and easy to work with and clean up if your pets or home needs to be rid of flees, use a powder shifter to apply it use a comb and a fan to apply onto pet close to their skin breathing it is not suggested check the stuff out can work great when you get use to it.
Gracias por salvar una vida🐈
It broke my heart a little in the beginning when the little boy wanted to give him some love and as Winston is about to come over to reciprocate, his dad tells him to go.
Yeah, but poor Winston had ringworm, which would not have been fun for the kid later.
That's really a blessing. They never would have kept him if the kid was allowed to take home.. the dad was a hater from the beginning.
Taunja Brockway lol son and dad were Haitian 🇭🇹 . I heard dad speaking Haitian Creole. Not surprised dad reacted that way because unfortunately the older generation don’t view pets the same way Americans do. Btw I am of Haitian descent but I love cats! I have 2 @ home!

The toxic gossip train
The way he easily let u put him in the carrier, makes me feel like he must be a stray who used to have a family.
This is what social media influencing should be about. Influencing others to do good.
You are so 100 % right
This is a smart thought. Instead of fostering jealousy over looks & luxury items, it could open hearts
Expect its encouraging them to do bad in some cases
👍🏻😭
We should try to get the world into a trend to take care of all the pain and misery, instead of overseeing it. I mean isn't it worth taking care of something so poor and see it getting stronger? Man I love this.
There is nothing sexier than a man who loves cats

Geez, how can somebody abandon such a laid back sweet cat! Thank you for getting him off the streets and into a loving home.
They’ve mentioned it a few times- male cats eventually start marking with smelly pee inside the home unless they’ve been neutered, but lots of people can’t afford that, so unfortunately they just kick the cat out. You can’t blame people for being poor or ignorant, but it’s still a sad situation all around.
@@Sashazur I can absolutely blame them. If you are those things, don't get a fucking pet.
@@Sashazursure you can blame people no matter their situation. If you're too poor don't get a pet. If you did and can't take care of it, take it to a shelter. Humans have brains to think: if they don't know what to do it's their responsibilityto find out, and they should know better than abandon helpless animals into the cruel life of streets.
The most heartbreaking and tragic thing is when the cat used to be an indoor cat and is now outside because they did not grow up on the street and lack street smarts and the ability to survive. Once you Tame a cat, he is your responsibility for as long as he lives. Period. No exceptions. This kitty is a love.... thank you. I'm in Staten Island, NY.

@@queerchoreography54 In Annadale! With cats!!!
I agree, I’ve had cats my entire life and it’s definitely sad to see once happy family cats on the street
Agree
I have a 3 yr old cat that I helped raise since she was a kitten and I know she wouldn't last long out in the street. I've never let her outside and once I walked out the door and let her follow me then I went right back inside and closed the door on her just to see her reaction. She started meow crying and I could tell she was frightened...thats when I knew I'm responsible for her for the rest of her life.
I LOVE how you tell the stories of cat rescues-- not overly sad and dramatic. Just sweetness and kindness. You make cat rescues look very doable. Thanks.
I dunno... I just can't hold my tears every time they have to say goodbye to a rescue cat. :'(
That’s a very good point. They ( him and wife) do make the rescues look doable. Love, love, love this channel

The sad thing is that many humans see animals as throw a ways when at the slightest inconvenience. 😟

If a stray cat can make it in New York he can make it anywhere !
I can't even get my cats in a carrier that easy.
Patrick Nottingham i share your pain. I always end up with battle scars lol
@@kstewart504 true Kyle. It is an ordeal alright.
Wrap them in an old towel or T shirt to put them in a carrier. Once wrapped you can turn the carrier on its end and just pour the cat in from the top. Works every time!
That's funny and true!
Cats aren't stupid. I'd bet he knew he was being helped and better take advantage of the situation.
I feel so happy for Winston. He’s a beautiful cat. Hope he enjoys life at his new home.💕
he clearly had a home before. How can people be so cruel to abandon an innocent being just like that. Heartbreaking 😥
i like how the little kid sat still and beckoned winston over rather than just running up and manhandling him.
He was taught well, safety comes first and foremost. Don't want to get the Cat Scratch Fever.
I don’t think any kid that age would man handle a wild cat in the street to be honest.
He’s an animal lover in the making :)
"many times a cat that you just met won't go into a carrier". My cats have both known me for over ten years. They won't go in a carrier willingly either!
13 years since Amber Kittay adopted my family, and putting her in a carrier is still hazardous to your hands and health. I recently got a sturdy backpack carrier and am letting her use it as a bed in hopes that the next time I need to take her out she'll just go get in her "bed" and then I can close it.
@@AShiftingofFate Try to imagine if some alien race 10 times your size just picked you up and put you in a box. They don't speak a language you do, even if they sound reassuring and you know them, this is still sudden and not with your consent. They take you in a weird big moving vehicle and then to a place where you see other fearful humans all in boxes. They take you out, poke and prode you. Hold you down if you struggle, then put you back in the box and then finally let you out back into your home. None of this is consensual, none of it makes sense. You don't know why it happened or what was done to you. You just know that box means that you will be taken against your will by a creature that while seems friendly is still taking away all agency and then handing you over to another who is feeling all over your body and maybe poking you with needles. It's quite literally alien abduction. They have to put all their faith in you. Now imagine also being a creature that is predator, but also prey so they are always easily set on edge for fear of their life.
Of course they hate carriers. Try to lure them in with treats and pets. Take them for random small car rides where in they get more treats and pets, maybe a new toy. Make sure there is a comfy pad/blanket for them in the carrier and reassure them that things are fine. Try not to be nervous or show stress when you take them to the vet or put them in a carrier. The more positive associations you can make to being put in the small box and carried around, the better. Especially if there is an emergency and you need to get them quickly in one and get out.
Heck, even with people we should be doing this. Next time you take your kid, or yourself somewhere that sucks, like dentist or doctor, treat yourself before and after. Go buy some small thing, get a nice meal, go for a walk in the park. Positive association is so important to creatures, even to humans. It's no wonder cats hate carriers. They experience nothing but fear, confusion, anxiety and sometimes pain in association to it.
Same ! Mine gonna make sure I pay the price if i force them get in cage🤣
@@vixxcelacea2778 Oh I agree, and I do take Amber out on walks and rides. The irony is she followed me to our car and hopped in as a juvenile which is how we got her so you would think she was a little more chill about traveling. So far she has the backpack and also an open car seat that was intended for a small dog. I want her to go quietly and calmly if we have an emergency since we live in earthquake territory, which is why I work with her to get used to being in a carrier and to walk on a leash. I won't leave her behind so I want her trained to not maul me if I put her in a carrier.
But treats and cushions are the norms for us, and she is the closest I will be getting to having a child so I try to spoil her.
Mine does because i got him the closed litter box that has a door that goes both ways so it’s easier to get them in carrier this way
Oh, Winston... what a wonderful cat!
So many heroes!! Oh Winston, you are beautiful. ❤😊✌️🐾😸👍
Seeing him lying there on the sidewalk alone in the beginning honestly made me cry. I was into drugs and spent months on the streets when I was in my late teens... I truly know how that feels. God bless you for all your love and support and saving these precious cats.
I have watched several of these cat rescues online and they bring tears to my eyes. Now I have a story to tell. Last week I was just driving around our little town here in Indiana just to get out of house because I was bored. My wife still works but I am retired. I went to this little park where a lot of people just walk for exercise. I pulled into this little shelter with picnic tables and got out to stretch my legs and walk a little bit. I saw this little cat just laying in the grass obviously is some distress and not moving. I did not think I would be able to pick him up but I had to try. When I walked over to him he did not move. So I just reached down and picked him up and put the little guy in my car. When I brought him home I put him on the kitchen counter top with some cat food, water, and a thick towel for him to lay on. Boy did that little guy eat! After that he just curled up on towel and went to sleep. We all ready have 4 cats but I could not just leave him out there to die. Four days later he has adjusted well, made friends with our other cats, and living the good life. We think he is blind in one eye but otherwise in good health. We are going to take him to the vet this week. By the way, we named him Chester and he yellow and white. I don't have a picture of him yet.
Aw, that's really sweet of you to take care of him, i hope he and your family are doing well ! :)
@@strawberrypie611 Thank you. I named him Chester and he is doing great. Believe it or not my wife and I now have 4 dogs and 6 kitty cats and they all are rescued animals.

He's obviously a very affectionate cat who loves human contact. It makes me wonder how someone can just discard a beautiful, happy cat like this one. He's going to make someone a great companion.
I
I thought the same, like it makes me sad and angry thinking about it
Seemed like an indoor cat. It probably got outside and got scared away from its home, and in a large city, it'd be hard to find. For such an affectionate cat, clearly it's previous caretaker wasn't cruel. The likelihood of someone like that willingly abandoning such a wonderful cat would be incredibly low.
Lucky our man found him and got him back where he belongs, with people who can shower love upon him.
@@cyrusmagnus Sad to say, it happens all the time. People get evicted, or their child becomes allergic, or something else happens, and rather than find a new home for their cat they instead just throw the cat out saying "it can take care of itself." But of course a domesticated cat really can't, he doesn't have the street smarts of a feral cat born and raised on the streets. People dump domesticated cats in our neighborhood all the time, some of them being great cats, and it infuriates me because who just abandons their friends like that? But there's a lot of people who just don't view cats as anything to care about, just another possession to be discarded when inconvenient. GRR.
Winston is such a handsome gentleman.
Somewhere somebody had loved this cat... I'm happy to see that love returned to him again. Short and sweet. I like this. Prayers for Winston. May he happily play, forever and a day.

Jennifer Caraballo, some people poison them or (in rural areas) shoot them because of how much damage outdoor cats do to wild birds. It’s one of many reasons I keep my cat inside. I do NOT agree with their method of dealing with outdoor cats. Finding homes for the strays, fixing the ferals, and reminding people that letting cats roam outside is bad for wildlife and dangerous for the cats are way better solutions.

She also had a thing for knowing when my days were especially bad, cause she would be extra sweet on those days.
@@MrTheFox101 I love kaffs and I enjoy but they are annoying sometimes
@@ifeelverydead9180 oh I agree. You should hear my other cat in the mornings before breakfast. But to me, their sweetness and loving attitudes outweigh any annoyance they cause.
Good for you!!! I started tnr in 2005 in Brooklyn. NEEDED EVERYWHERE.
When you said “we named him Winston” I immediately started to CRY
Why ?
KonoXi he was nameless, just seen as a stray. He finally got to be named something and the name fit his little character
@@mirthah4035 yep. Winston
Mirtha H - I did the same in that exact part of the video
Oh my gosh, the first part of this video broke my heart…the little boy paid attention to the kitty and he immediately responded…he was so miserable and desperate! THANK YOU for helping that sweet kitty!
Oh. Sweet cutie... thank you for helping him ❤️
"lets just say neither of us enjoyed it..." yep.. that sums up pretty much every cat bath lol
One day I got the bright idea to bathe my adult female Siamese cat. She held on to the soap dish in the tub for dear life. After much crying and Siamese wailing and many scratches on my arms we finished. She thought she had been killed. I sorta did too. She hid until she had her fur all dry and fluffed up again. Needless to say, it was our "last bath". LOL
Wow. You can just see by how easily you got him in the carrier that he was either really lethargic or extremely trusting
RainAngel111 he was prob both and a little desperate
absolutely heartwarming! Thank you for sharing Winston's story, happily ever after 😻😻😻😻
