I lived in Queens and I rescued cats, I moved out of the city to a rural area decades ago with 22 cats. 3 1/2 years ago two cats found me here and one is a wonderful character and I'd like to have him adopted but he hates the indoors, in winter I have outdoor shelters for them. I have a problem, no rescue group can help me I've called and I've asked and begged for help placing the outdoor cats, I'm moving to senior housing I can't abandon the outdoor cats, can someone help me please ? I'm 3 hours from New York City.
there was a serial killer that would adopt cats just torture and kill them he would nail their paws to the drywall, and he was set free not too long ago, i'd do a psych eval on every person that adopts a cat.
This is so amazing to see! I love that you are taking care of stray cats and are even taking them to the vet to get checked and treated. However, please consider giving your cats solid food that is approved by a veterinarian as this is much better for their heath, particularly their teeth.
J M Maybe you can look at rescues further away. Some do barn cat programs. You can try going to Local Harvest, www.localharvest.org and try contacting farms directly. Farmers need directions for introducing the cats gradually. Those directions should be on the Web. Also, breweries of craft beer and what not often have outdoor cats. Good luck.

It's always hard to say goodbye to a foster cat you get attached to, but sometimes it's for the best. We only have limited space, and if we take on too many of our own cats we can't help as many other cats.
@@k2xPowa I think every fosterer has at least one foster fail, where you end up keeping them. It gets easier to say goodbye the more you have to do it though. We had two kittens in one litter we wanted to keep, but one of them just didn't get on with our current cat, and was being bullied by the other kitten. I became so attached to her, and I cried for hours over letting her go. But it was the right thing for her, and our cat too. The stress wasn't good for either of them. I found it hard working with the next litter we had, I was avoiding them to prevent getting attached. Since then though I've gotten more involved again and am finding it easier to not get as attached. But, we have helped 30 cats or kittens in the 9 months we have been doing it, and if we took on many more of our own cats, we probably wouldn't be able to continue.

carloswt4 Well, seeing as how he probably showers...everyday...this has happened before, and he decided to get some footage of how cute she is knowing he would put it in a future video. 😻🛁📲
Cause that cat has a scale of apreciation: she knows how lucky she is to be indoors being fed chicken livers. If you can take the hit to your freedom, being a human's pet is a pretty soft life and cats that haven't had to fend for themselves in their entire lives have no idea how tough life really is. Like teenagers, they don't know all the things they are shielded from and only see the limits of their position.
I'm terribly allergic to cats, so I was never able to interact with them, that's why I love and appreciate people that put their effort into helping those in need.
Of course, there are people who are just jerks. But sometimes, people dislike something if it has sad parts. I've seen people discuss in threads that they disliked a rescue video as an expression of disgust for, say, the hypothetical previous owners whom they assumed dumped the cat. Of course, there also seem to be bots programmed to crawl YT downvoting things. Which is weird and not helpful.
Y'see, this is why I couldn't foster. After I'd spend a few weeks with a cuddly cat like that, there's no way I could give her up. "Hi, I hear you've got a foster cat up for adop-" "JUST YOU TRY AND TAKE MY BABY, TRY AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS"
Oh my god my 'baby' cat (5 years) came running in to see what the ruckus was. We added a naked pink brother (baby) 2 years ago, and I think he doesn't trust us not to surprise him with another sibling. >.
Well hello I'm really sorry for texting you In such way it's not really cool but I just couldn't help myself you've got a very interesting profile and I must say you're cute♥️♥️♥️
One of my 3 cats was adopted of the street (semi rural). She was yowling just like Charlie. She could not be ignored. She hates to be alone also and runs in from the garage (where cat boxes are) yowling and running until she finds us. We have had her 4 years now and she is a lot quieter, but will sometimes wake from sleeping and start meowing to make sure we are still here. She has an 11 Y.O. brother and sister we adopted from a rescue 10 yrs. ago. :-) XX
NeeYoDeeO no, you can’t. I’ll admit that when I replied to the first comment, I didn’t think that a native English speaker could be so ignorant about their own language but excuse me, I was wrong. Looks like even native speakers can be totally clueless too. My advice? Look it up. I’m guessing that any use of “break my heart” for anything other than a very sad, difficult moment will be slang (probably American too; I’ve NEVER heard anyone use “break my heart” in a positive context before in my country) and therefore incorrect. Don’t forget then many people think that “I’m waiting on you” is correct English but it’s absolutely incorrect. At least I’ve heard people sincerely use “wait on” before. As I said, this is the first time I’ve seen someone think that heart break is a positive thing 😂😂🤡☕️
My cat is a rescued stray and he's incredibly vocal and friendly like Charlie, and also feels a loving family shouldn't need things like doors or privacy...
This video was so bittersweet. It was very happy that Charlie was taken off the streets and eventually found a good home, but it's so heartbreaking to know that there are many cats not do lucky.
“You may see cats fight while bathing each other” that’s like a mother cleaning her kid that just out of knowhere giving it a knuckle sandwich right on his nose
Any chance of getting an update on how Charlie is doing in her forever home? She is so precious. Thank you for all the great care you give to all these cats.
I was given a beautiful Bengal cat after losing my Manx of 17 years. Her remaining brother was so sad to be alone after 12 years. I am disabled and if not for the amazing people at my local Animal Shelter I never could have afforded to have Poppy fixed at the vets office. They all quoted me 200!!! I got her spayed, rabies and distemper for 50.00!! And I found out many states have a certificate program fro residents on foodstamps and medicaid that they only need to pay 20 00 for a spay or neuter! We owe it to our fur babies to make sure they stay as healthy and happy as possible. Going into heat and being locked inside is NOT happy for you or the cat! Than you Flatbush for all you do!
Thank you for your amazing work. Because of people like you, lucky pet-lovers like me get to find our soul-mates - rescued pets. They are such grateful beings.
Aww i love this story, i remember the day i let my cat orion in, he was a homeless stray that showed up one day, i never really saw my life with a cat, now i cant see my life without one
I grew up on a farm, over the years we had many different animals. For me, a home is just not a home if there's not a animal also living there. A place without animals is cold, empty, its just a place for survival, not comfort.
What a sweet cat. She was likely a very sweet house pet that was abandoned or got lost. Someone as sweet as that would not have survived on the streets.

Awww her little air muffins. Adorable😻

“we found her a perfect forever home”🥰😍🥳
I thought she died at first hahaha
I was like I swear to god if she died 😅😅
I knew what he meant. I have fostered cats many times............ I really like it............. but the sad day always comes and they have to go on to their forever home.
This would have been a foster fail for me! ;-) Charlie is just soooo sweet and affectionate with everyone! Goodness, how could you let her go??!? Blessings, Love and Peace to you for all you're doing for the precious beings out there in need of Love! May only all good things come to you now and always! :-D
had us in the first half. not gonna lie
"We found her a forever home, where she could be the center of attention."
WHO IS IN HERE CUTTING ALL THESE ONIONS?! Ya'll making me cry.
Sorry, I'm the one cutting all these onions to make onion soup for dinner.

I come back often to see stories with happy endings. Thanks Flatbush for all you do. My monthly $$ will of course keep on coming. Cheers
Charlie: no I clean!
Garfield:NO I clean!!
Nobody's talking about the fact that this guy had his camera in the shower
carloswt4 Well, seeing as how he probably showers...everyday...this has happened before, and he decided to get some footage of how cute she is knowing he would put it in a future video. 😻🛁📲

This guy is super AMAZING! Helping kitty's and teaching us, the public, about the help cats need all over America!
This stray cat has more manners than my cat
That stray cat has better manners than a lot of people I know.
haha same
that cat has better manners then me
Ik my cat just like biting me 😅😂
Cause that cat has a scale of apreciation: she knows how lucky she is to be indoors being fed chicken livers. If you can take the hit to your freedom, being a human's pet is a pretty soft life and cats that haven't had to fend for themselves in their entire lives have no idea how tough life really is. Like teenagers, they don't know all the things they are shielded from and only see the limits of their position.
She's beautiful, thank you for your tireless compassion.
I would love a cat that acted as an alarm cat. Can’t oversleep that kind of alarm
I'm terribly allergic to cats, so I was never able to interact with them, that's why I love and appreciate people that put their effort into helping those in need.
Veronica Lobos my boyfriend is allergic too so I can say goodbye to adopting one in the future
Khelsey Jewel don’t they have medication for that ? Or no ?
@@treelord8813 they have allergy shots, but you have to take them like weekly
@@stormhaven6665 Speaking of which, just today I got approved for allergy shots. In three years time, I might be able to find my own charlie.
I'm allergic to cats too but I take allergy shots! It is a long commitment but so so so so worth it. I have 6 cats :)
She’s a friendly girly! May have been someone’s pet if she’s so friendly.
I taught so too but she must have been abandoned because at first, she was hesisitant about the man touching her
She wasn’t spayed and was out late at night - if she was someone’s pet they weren’t taking care of her.
Also.. the saliva/teeth situ suggested otherwise. (or whoever owned her not taking care of her)
Probably just learned that attention from humans means food. And was lucky to never have had anything traumatising happening.
not really. not every stray cat is feral you may want to visit turkey for example
All she wanted was a bit of fuss , so sweet !
Charlie I love 💕 you. I wish I could adopt you. Such a communicative kitty.
I’m glad she found a forever home.
she had me at "meow" 🥺💗
Which one?? She meowed more than 50 times

this man has advanced alarm technology
using cat for alarm instead of bulk alarm ring every minute.
She just wants love so bad, god. What a perfect baby girl ;v;
Seriously how could 160 people dislike this video?! This man is saving cats and getting them
Off the street! Thank you for everything that you do
it's not people. it's mice.
I've seen a LOT worse with less dislikes...
Kill 5 cats ha ha ha
Of course, there are people who are just jerks.
But sometimes, people dislike something if it has sad parts. I've seen people discuss in threads that they disliked a rescue video as an expression of disgust for, say, the hypothetical previous owners whom they assumed dumped the cat.
Of course, there also seem to be bots programmed to crawl YT downvoting things.
Which is weird and not helpful.
Dog people 😄
Charlie is Gorgeous.
Well then keep a cat. You have a buddy and a cat has a great life ahead. Win/Win
@@splintex862 I have two, actually. I can't foster, but I can definitely adopt.
LOL I'm right there with you.
Same 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😻🐈
Charley starts meowing, my cat looks at me *don't you dare* 🤣 this is so sweet.
Mine did the exact same, laid across my iPad! X
Jargon Ellie lmao they don’t want y’all splitting y’all love for them with another
Oh my god my 'baby' cat (5 years) came running in to see what the ruckus was.
As much as we loved the 5 am wake up calls………
We found her the PERFECT home…… 🤣 🤣 🤣
Charlie is the kind of cat I'd be best friends with. Her personality is so energetic and down to earth
Ya i really like her!
She has an 11 Y.O. brother and sister we adopted from a rescue 10 yrs. ago. :-) XX
3:18 That was nice of Charlie to clear you some sink space for when you get out of the shower...🧴🐈 ❤️
My boy Dewey does the same thing Charlie does when I'm in the shower. "HEY! HUMAN! Get out of there that's water!!!"
She's so social and confident. I wish I had her. What a lovely girl.
it breaks my heart to see these cats straying around with no home and no access to food ;( Flatbush cats, you guys are real heroes!
As usual great job by rescuing those poor feline!
2:22 nearly broke my heart, so cute how she cuddles your face
Maybe English isn’t your first language but you wouldn’t say “broke my heart” unless it’s a very sad thing.
Kylie Dearson you can say broke my heart if something is really cute or precious as well (english is my first language)
@@kyliedearson9362 lol you might need to get out more
Kylie Dearson This is the weakest excuse to pick a fight
Charlie's a beautiful, friendly little girl. Hope she's well.
This guy has the best cat-petting Hands I have ever seen. No wonder the cats melt under his hands no matter how "Spicy" they are at the beginning.
Any chance of getting an update on how Charlie is doing in her forever home? She is so precious. Thank you for all the great care you give to all these cats.
You can find them on Instagram. Love and Charlie or something like that
@Kris Galhos you lie
I feel so relieved when someone takes in an animal.
What a sweet girl. And I'm so thrilled that your partnered with the Toby project!
Hopefully that helps to reduce the number ending up in shelters and being euth’d
Enjoyed reading about your gratitude
It's such a great comment... and you doing wonderful. 😻💖🐾
how is this not the best cat ever
She kept slow blinking and talking to him and it was sweet. Also probably still in heat.
She is just the most adorable cat ever. She has such pretty eyes.

Awwww, Charlie is super sweet! ❤️
when he talked about the droll on her face while she rubs on his face x3

That's a chatty cat! 😸😽😺😽😸😽😺 I hope Charlie went to her forever home with Garfield, they really have such a beautiful bond!
RedZeshinX Garfield lives at Flatbush. Charlie got her own human to boss around.

Charlie’s a sweet and cute fur baby.
Aww i love this story, i remember the day i let my cat orion in, he was a homeless stray that showed up one day, i never really saw my life with a cat, now i cant see my life without one
Drewster327 thank you for being a loving cat owner
I grew up on a farm, over the years we had many different animals.
For me, a home is just not a home if there's not a animal also living there.
A place without animals is cold, empty, its just a place for survival, not comfort.
Charlie is such a sweetie. I wish her a very happy life.
What a sweet cat. She was likely a very sweet house pet that was abandoned or got lost. Someone as sweet as that would not have survived on the streets.
