it's actually a really fun game. I'm about 20hrs in and really interested in where the story is going. Gameplay is decent except for some Ai being able to see through walls. Not sure what you mean about the Villian, he's a real bastard. Guessing you heard that on another youtube video that gave it a good review but titled their video somthing like "This is Just Insulting"... Not our intelligence, that's off-limits right?... Wait what?
But it's like having a built in "New Game minus", where all your progress is auto deleted. Ubisofts new marketing strategy for the game renters who try to keep their saves.
Just play a different star wars game entirely like a classic one from the N64, GameCube, or Wii Eras. Idk like Lego Star wars the complete saga or rouge squadron or something.
Ubisoft - Ok.. hear me out. We will charge DOUBLE so they can, effectively, test the game FOR US! Soulless, Corporate Demon - My God.. You're onto something here!
I feel like it would be more appropriate for the Souless Demon to be like “Whoa that’s evil, and that’s me saying it so that’s gotta mean something right? Who hurt you?”
I used to feel sorry for folks that were ripped off by the big gaming companies but after awhile, if someone refuses to listen to warnings, ignores prior history, and continues to act like a moron, that's on them. I don't have time to care. I chose to avoid this crap; if you weren't smart enough to do the same given the publicly available information, I'll paraphrase the line from Rocky IV: "If it dies, it dies." Meh, moving on.
My problem is that people keep falling for these types of licensed games no matter how many previous ones have failed. Nowadays, because of them, it seems like all we're ever going to get are unoriginal action-adventure games, grindy RPGs filled with chores, and rushed live services that'll die within 1 year. Polished games like the Arkham franchise are starting to become more and more rare.
I'm 20hrs in. It could use a patch for sure but I'm really enjoying it. It's just a good game. Not sure why they titled the video "This is Just Insulting" then mostly praised the game with a few nitpicks for almost half an hour. The only confusing part is everyone in the chat agreeing with a video title. it's like you people didn't actually watch the video.
8:30 Picking up another subscription platform and canceling it when you’re done sounds nice at first, until you realize that it’s just more conditioning for the idea that consumers don’t own anything. You’re basically just renting the game at that point. It’s going to get to the point where if you want to have access to your favorite games, then you have no choice but to be locked in to paying $180 dollars a year forever, on top of all the other subscription services you’re forced to take on, and pray the company doesn’t decide to remove the game you like from their platform.
Yep & I got burned too many times by ubisoft specifically to buy anything from them day one. I usually wait til black Friday to purchase ubisoft games because of how quickly they go on deep sales.
I have zero sympathy for people who pay extra for early access or day one releases, as these FOMO-slaves are the very reason video game prices have been escalating while the quality/content drops. The best version of any game is the one where the developers have fixed as many issues as is practical… and in the current market this is around 12 months after release (minimum) at which point the price has almost certainly been discounted. What early buyers are doing is funding the completion of the game to the standard games used to ship at (before consoles had hard drives and internet connections).
AC Valhalla had a game breaking bug about 3 hours in (locked out of main story because of missing quest.) Basically the same problem here. How ubisoft manages to continue to skate by with this kind of stuff is baffling.
Odyssey had one as well. Wasn't fully main quest but made it so your couldn't recruit one of the legendary characters in one of the side quests. Not as bad, but a pain for everyone who wanted to fully clear it. Then there was unity.
But cheap are people who follow and so far all the sheep I've seen are just the people who comment about how much "Ubisoft sucks". So people who are pre-ordering this game are the exact opposite of sheep. I pre-ordered and you can lick my balls because you're the sheep. 😘
Stop giving these companies money for partial products, or rewarding them for rushing a release. The game obviously wasn't ready in time for the "early" release, because the developers needed the time to polish. If a game is ready early, either release it or hold it, but don't sell early access, and gamers, don't buy early access.
Because you and everyone here represent the minority of gamers. Most don't know or likely care about all this stuff. They see Star Wars and buy, that's it. And they get to have blissful fun, like me!😂
It deff can be dumb but there are some games I pre order and it was worth it. Like remnant 2 and elden ring .10/10 would pre order again but anything by ubisoft . I won't even buy their games full price, ever lol
@@walter_the_wobot2349 if the majority had buggy gameplay I would agree with you. Most don't. But again, you only hear from the ppl who do and complain, so. I myself have had no real issues
They did. It was clearly as mistake and a slap at video gaming because someone I presume it was Iger didn't consider them important. EA then Ubisoft. Two godawful companies notorious for being anti consumer Gee whiz. So yes Lucas Arts should never have been shut down but you know where do we go for a decent SW game now. Respawn makes ok SW games imo but how long are they going to keep at it and EA still owns them and can still screw them over.
I've not had faith in early access preorders in ages amd never really cared for it in the first place, but recent releases have proven the concept is too risky and devs need to drop it altogether
I wonder how much money they spent trying to convince us Outlaws was a good game, when they could have spent that money on development to make a good game.
I don't feel like they have for years especially triple A they make players buy it first and test it for them. People willingly do it so why woukd they change.
My version on PS5 launches without texture on Kay. She shows up as a blue body. Some of the objects in the universe are also showing up without texture too.
Why release a perfect game from the jump when you know people who care and even those who don’t care for the IP will buy it anyways as long as they know that the consumer will buy it if they can play early ofc they are just gonna put it out without polishing it completely
It's even worse because your not actually paying extra for early access. Your paying extra just to get to play on the release date. The "early access" starts on a Tuesday. That's when games release. So actually, if you just buy the regular addition, your punished and forced to wait three days to access the game on a Friday. They have weaponized fomo. Extremely anti-consumer.
There should be the Ubisoft rule whereas money for Early Access games should be held at escrow by Sony entertainment corporation and if the game is buggy or not in a releaseable state that money should be able to be refunded for those who fought the games in Early Access
I must be one of the few PS5 players not affected by this. The biggest bug I experienced was in one of the early cutscenes when Kay was just blinking super fast while she was talking. And once I snuck into a base but rose the alarm, then escaped and the game thought I was still in combat so I couldn't fast travel or save. I just had to go get killed really quick and that fixed it.
Did you not listen? They said that no matter what later on in the game you will be progress blocked and you have to restart the game that’s just everyone on ps5 it sucks
2:57 there was a time where a selected few of play testers were being paid to test a game... now a bunch of people are paying for that in form of early access
I legitimately do not feel bad for the people who paid for early access. They all know the trends in gaming and that games, especially games from Ubisoft, are buggy messes usually filled with a massive empty world to explore and more problems than you can count.
Scott, that fast food analogy seriously got on my nerves...because do you know what fast food also is?.....CHEAP!! You can't churn out crap and price it like this. The average consumer needs to pull their head out their ass and realise this too.
@wjhall7754 which honestly makes the analogy more accurate. It's the same low quality product, but now sold at a premium. In fast food it makes sit-down restaurants cheaper and with better quality, so you're just paying for speed with fast food. With this game getting early access when you are better off waiting, yeah, seems similar too.
Game is fine, been having fun exploring the worlds! Lots of stealth but enough combat tactics to keep it interesting. It’s not Souls like but has its own strategy and the reputation system is really fun. Don’t listen to all the hate, think and feel for yourself! Glad I picked it up, good time losing myself and getting away from the ral world for a while.
You can still enjoy a game but admit that it has flaws and issues. I’m a supporter of Alien: Colonial Marines and enjoyed that game quite a lot compared to most, but I can admit that it was not a good game worth a $60 price tag.
@@christophergzimbelman9977 There's admiting that a perfectly adequate game has flaws and there's the cartoonish amount of hate this game has been getting to appease the idiot masses.
I think they fell into the same sort of complacency EA did. Like they thought "the name alone is enough to sell millions of units, so lets get it out as fast as possible and worry about everything else later."
Fun Fact: I was in the Hitrecord community when they collabed with Ubisoft. First it was to make original music for a pirate radio in BG&E2 which then went dormant (next was music for a watch dogs title I couldnt care less about). There was promise of contributing members being credited etc. Still waiting on BG&E2 but I can't help but feel this sudden license acquisition and how it looks like its using a lot of that games tech, that we may not be getting BG%E2 any time soon, if ever. (I know theres also other reasons why bg&e2 just isn't happening rn but the similarity with outlaws is not coincidental I feel) So tahts my reason for not trusting Outlaws, it felt like it was another ubisoft frankenstein. Happy to have held off and look forward to experiencing an unbuggy version on a sale some day ;)
At this point, if you're still pre-purchasing a game, or even buying it day 1, you're just getting a lesson that you should have learned half a decade ago.
It's wild how Ubisoft is arguably one of the pioneers of climbing mechanics in video games and they're still being compared to Uncharted. It just goes to show you how good Naughty Dog really is.
No issues at all on PC so far, not even a single crash. Really sucks for those who were excited for it & are experiencing persistent issues.. That aside though, the game isn’t as awful as people are enjoying making out it is too! Clearly a lot of care has gone into some aspects of the game, but unfortunately lacking in others.. i think the 6/7 score is fair.
not surprised its buggy as heck. I watched a playthrough and it plays like low budget PS2 game. First thing that really stands out is how poor the main character animations are. There is no sense of weight or realism to her movements. For example watch a video of her jumping off a high position, she lands straight legged, no knee bending, no inertia or correction of balance to when she lands from a great height. Also lip synching on the main character looks like something from ps2 era, compare this to games like Cyberpunk or BG3 its night and day. Poor combat mechanics - you are more effective running around slapping enemies with the completely OP melee combat than shooting enemies. But shooting is poor anyway, it lacks any sense of meatyness and punch anyway. The missions are boring, the puzzles are insanely easy, enemy AI is absolutely terrible, its just a hugely uninspired mess of a game. The beautiful lighting and environments cover up how utterly poor this game is and I feel sorry for the environment artists who have clearly worked hard to make this game look nice. But the game in every other facet doesn't match the effort and quality that you get with the lighting and environment art. When you consider how much it costs you are far better off spending the same money buying a ton of top AA and Indie games where you would be supporting developers that clearly care about the overall gaming experience they are putting out.
Had ubisoft been done appropriately. When ubisoft plus was offered. The correct answer from you shouldve been. Are you making new games to play? I already own the old at 20 bucks a piece.

They go on to say how it's enjoyable at the moment but it's difficult to see if it will remain as interesting 10, 20, 30hrs into the game. Clarifying how the usual negative aspects of Ubisoft games are very present in this game, but if you're used to it, then check the game out. Not very clickbaity
Not running smoothly on all PCs makes sense because of the amount of hardware variations. Not running smoothly on console means the company chose to release without the issues being fixed. Ubsioft back in 2012 was one of my all-time favorite developers. It's amazing how much can change in 12 years!
If I wanted to play a game like this, I’d go play through any of the Uncharted games again and have more enjoyment, instead of playing this for the first time.
You're in the Star Wars universe and you aren't a Jedi? Kay, he is just a dude with a hand gun and his man fists. Jedi Survivor had problems but you played as a jedi and that alone made the game awesome.
I paid for XBox Ultimate version and haven't seen any issues so far. I'm about 6 hours in so maybe things will change, but so far there is nothing wrong with the game for me.
I keep forgetting how jarring it is to not hear an outro. Then I just hear the final comment as if it is going to lead to a final discussion or goodbye, then just silence.
If this is how you do life. You're never going to have nothing nice. You'll be able to tell us what's wrong with the brand newest games out. But. Why not own something nice instead?
It is astounding that a company the size of Ubisoft even dares to release an unfinished product for a premium price and expects early buyers to replay from the beginning because it needs a patch. Support indie games, corporate greed ends when nobody buys their broken products anymore.
I remember when 3 day early access was considered blasphemy by gamers who would get angry over pre-orders getting that head start. Now it's evolved to a point where you have to buy ultimate editions?! And its for games that continue to have seasons and monetization in single player games now too? What in the world has happened? And the most weird thing is, you still have people who want to defend these companies.

You know that saying "fool me once, shame on you....."? Yeah, well at this point anyone still expecting Ubisoft to respect their time and money should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
Ubisoft taking storm troopers accuracy a bit too cannon in the game. Ubisoft words about the poor AI would be, "its not a bug its how it really is in the Star Wars universe!"
Now that I am thinking about it, this game should have let you be a droid and therefore you could customize your character to a higher degree, have a cloaking-esque power like the crysis suit so stealth could deal with more sound and power reserves.
That happened with me in AC Valhalla. I had completely done all of Norway, and right when I was going to England, it glitched and blocked story progrssion. I looked up solutions, and the only solution on it was to go again and hope for the best or wait until a patch so I know the feeling. Thankfully it didn't happen the 2nd playthrough. It also happened in the GTA san andreas and had to start again corrupting my save. My only solution was multiple saves every time I saved
People who pre order , OBVIOUSLY, they don't care about their money enough. It's theirs. They could burn it if they want. Let them. We need testers to get to the cheaper and better edition which the rest of us will get 😊
If Ubisoft were serious about Ubisoft+ being a thing they'd put it on Playstation. It would be nice to "rent" the game for a month or 2 (as well as have access to other Ubisoft games during that time) instead of gambling with a whole ass $70+

it's actually a really fun game.
Wait what?
Nahhhh.. the company that called Skull and Bones a QuadA product lied to yall? Crazy times man
If I have to delete my save, I would be putting the game down for awhile
@@ArynWellspring Yes.. that is better lol
Big corporations digging their own grave 🪦
My problem is that people keep falling for these types of licensed games no matter how many previous ones have failed. Nowadays, because of them, it seems like all we're ever going to get are unoriginal action-adventure games, grindy RPGs filled with chores, and rushed live services that'll die within 1 year. Polished games like the Arkham franchise are starting to become more and more rare.
Well said.
nice victim blaming jerk
This is what prevented me from buying anything Ubisoft since their whole subscription thing was announced.
Day One games are THE WORST VERSION of the game.
This is the way.
Yep & I got burned too many times by ubisoft specifically to buy anything from them day one. I usually wait til black Friday to purchase ubisoft games because of how quickly they go on deep sales.
And when they announce DLC before they release the main game! It’s insulting to gamers!
That may be true, but a good game, starts good and gets better.
Getting really strong Mass Effect vibes from this game. Unfortunately, they happen to be Mass Effect: Andromeda vibes.
You had me in the first half lol
Andromeda is actually really fun game when you don't stop at every icon on the map. You should play it if you like ME, it's really good.
AC Valhalla had a game breaking bug about 3 hours in (locked out of main story because of missing quest.)
Basically the same problem here. How ubisoft manages to continue to skate by with this kind of stuff is baffling.
Valhalla is another one that is also really good but it is definitely a Ubisoft game that was released by Ubisoft and I don't need to explain.
What quest is missing?
@@seanmalloy0528 pretty sure they meant at the time of release, not currently.
They did find a lot more Beta Testers, that is the Early Access Paying Audience. Why hire them if they PAY to work for you!!!
Odyssey had one as well. Wasn't fully main quest but made it so your couldn't recruit one of the legendary characters in one of the side quests. Not as bad, but a pain for everyone who wanted to fully clear it. Then there was unity.
Sad Droid noises

Even without bugs it just looks lame, the takedowns have zero impact its terrible.
What do you want the takedown to look like?
Those are THE most suspicious, noise inducing stealth takedowns in any game ever. AAAA
@@seanmalloy0528 impactful instead of enemies slowly lying down
@@skaetur1You don't even need to hide the bodies and there are no environmental takedowns.
@seanmalloy0528 Ubisoft have created so many games in the past where stealth takedowns were spot on.
What happened?
You say "passionate", I call them sheep. If they haven't learned by now, they'll never will.
Or like me who’s never ran into that type of problem before.
Sheep is an overused polititard insult, but the general sentiment is spot on.
But cheap are people who follow and so far all the sheep I've seen are just the people who comment about how much "Ubisoft sucks". So people who are pre-ordering this game are the exact opposite of sheep. I pre-ordered and you can lick my balls because you're the sheep. 😘
@@ledumpsterfire6474 Are you insulting people for having an interest in politics?
Most people playing it aren’t tuned in to gaming media though. It’s primarily casual gamers
Stop giving these companies money for partial products, or rewarding them for rushing a release.
The game obviously wasn't ready in time for the "early" release, because the developers needed the time to polish. If a game is ready early, either release it or hold it, but don't sell early access, and gamers, don't buy early access.
Ubisoft: We hear you the next game will be a live service multiplayer starting at $160
If day one version of a game is the worst version how are we supposed to feel sorry for anyone who pays $100 to test it early
How can there still be people who actually preorder games?
Because you and everyone here represent the minority of gamers. Most don't know or likely care about all this stuff. They see Star Wars and buy, that's it. And they get to have blissful fun, like me!😂
It deff can be dumb but there are some games I pre order and it was worth it. Like remnant 2 and elden ring .10/10 would pre order again but anything by ubisoft . I won't even buy their games full price, ever lol
@JJGaming2010 You have coprophilia? 🤮 I don't know why you'd want to brag about that. That's seriously TMI.
Buggy gameplay experiences don’t sound blissful to me. More like moronic.

It’s almost like Disney shot them selves in the foot when they disbanded Lucius arts…
I've not had faith in early access preorders in ages amd never really cared for it in the first place, but recent releases have proven the concept is too risky and devs need to drop it altogether
I wonder how much money they spent trying to convince us Outlaws was a good game, when they could have spent that money on development to make a good game.
So, so these companies actually test these before release anymore, or just make up some random date and throw whatever they have out the door?
They delegate the testing for players with the early access, they dont have to pay playtesters when the testers pay them
I don't feel like they have for years especially triple A they make players buy it first and test it for them. People willingly do it so why woukd they change.
Dont be silly, my dude. Ubisoft doesnt pay for Testers, Testers pay to Test their games. Hence why the mandatory Day One update is 3 days later.
The classic "I know this game Will be bad, but i'll buy like an idiot".
bro aint nobody wanting to play as that homunculus
Pre-orders are bad enough, but these donuts paid extra to play early! Ubisoft is horrible but I have no sympathy for the donuts 😂
And the dev calls criticism "bad faith", so they're not going to fix anything
The insane amount of money that it cost put me off ever wanting to play it
My version on PS5 launches without texture on Kay. She shows up as a blue body. Some of the objects in the universe are also showing up without texture too.
That's not a bug, it's the Mystique edition
I call that an upgrade!
I'm at the point where I don't decide based on these videos, it's just entertaining for me.
And you paid $100+ for the privilege. 😂
@perfidious333 not if he signed up for ubisoft + it's just 20 bucks to play it early
I'm also one of the PS5 players not affected by this bug, because I stopped buying Ubislop around AC: Unity.
Cool, get ready to do it all over
2:57 there was a time where a selected few of play testers were being paid to test a game... now a bunch of people are paying for that in form of early access
Ubisoft being the "fast food of gaming" is the most accurate description of this company that I didn't know I needed
Fast food isn't cheap nowadays 😢😅
@wjhall7754 which honestly makes the analogy more accurate. It's the same low quality product, but now sold at a premium. In fast food it makes sit-down restaurants cheaper and with better quality, so you're just paying for speed with fast food. With this game getting early access when you are better off waiting, yeah, seems similar too.
IGN gave it a 7/10
it's also I G N. take that with a grain of salt.

Like they thought "the name alone is enough to sell millions of units, so lets get it out as fast as possible and worry about everything else later."
its not even worth pirating lol
Lol
What's funny is that if you watch past 10 minutes, they go on to talk about how awesome the game is past the technical problems.
(I know theres also other reasons why bg&e2 just isn't happening rn but the similarity with outlaws is not coincidental I feel)
So tahts my reason for not trusting Outlaws, it felt like it was another ubisoft frankenstein. Happy to have held off and look forward to experiencing an unbuggy version on a sale some day ;)
“Here’s a little trinket for all the trouble”
*Dipper from gravity falls coice* “Wow! This is worthless!”
25 mins of negative comments, yet 7 out of 10. Funny. Ubisoft is basically everyone’s punching bag. If you don’t punch you are not cool enough…
If Ubi didn't want to be everyone's punching bag, then perhaps they shouldn't be asinine and churn out less than subpar games... lol
At this point, if you're still pre-purchasing a game, or even buying it day 1, you're just getting a lesson that you should have learned half a decade ago.
Ah yes, bugisoft is at it again!
I've got this video playing whilst I clean and it keeps throwing up 20 minute Star Wars Outlaws advert videos talking about how good the game is...
not surprised its buggy as heck.
I’m having fun with it. Don’t let anyone deter you from enjoying something.
Tell that to the KKK and BLM hahahah. But jokes aside, yeah fair, if you enjoy a game go for it.
There’s a huge difference between people disliking something and something being so unplayable in cases that the company has literally emailed customers warning them not to play the game…
What system are you on?

They go on to say how it's enjoyable at the moment but it's difficult to see if it will remain as interesting 10, 20, 30hrs into the game. Shameless plug for Ubisoft+. Another Ubisoft bought review. Sad.
Not running smoothly on all PCs makes sense because of the amount of hardware variations. Not running smoothly on console means the company chose to release without the issues being fixed. Ubsioft back in 2012 was one of my all-time favorite developers. It's amazing how much can change in 12 years!
I tried infiltrating a small encampment, but was mowed down by the guards infinitely spawning out from the side of a hill.
"Scoundrel" was a term used for individuals who were considered rogues by the galactic mainstream society.
I paid for XBox Ultimate version and haven't seen any issues so far. I'm about 6 hours in so maybe things will change, but so far there is nothing wrong with the game for me.
I bought the Gold version for Series X and it runs great. I've had a few minor glitches but, nothing game breaking.
I keep forgetting how jarring it is to not hear an outro. Then I just hear the final comment as if it is going to lead to a final discussion or goodbye, then just silence.

Ubisoft being described as the fast food of gaming is brilliant 😂
"Ubisoft is the fast-food of gaming." Oh I like that!
When they stop making single player games and online only is when they stop getting my hard earn money.
And the most weird thing is, you still have people who want to defend these companies.
love the fact that AI-generated is directly related to being bad or of bad quality at 18:53
Times were Ubisoft dished out quality games are gone, companies change, people leave etc. Another example was rocksteady, famously know for the Arkham games, by the time Suicide Squad was in development, the og devs have left, cuz the whole focus was changed to live service crap... never pre-order games, the consumers are the issue cuz companies know they'll get the money if it flops on to the next project.
I haven't paid for a game at full price in a long time, and I don't think I ever will again
Let them. We need testers to get to the cheaper and better edition which the rest of us will get 😊
I've played 18 hours maybe had 2 issues not that bad
You should have sworn off Ubisoft games years and years ago my guy.
If Ubisoft were serious about Ubisoft+ being a thing they'd put it on Playstation. It would be nice to "rent" the game for a month or 2 (as well as have access to other Ubisoft games during that time) instead of gambling with a whole ass $70+
I fumed when I had a 30 minute rollback in an MMO. 5-15 hours lost in a single player game and I'm done not playing again.
Ubisoft plus is a ripoff. What you should be doing if you don't need the most up to date content to show. Is wait 3 months. Pay about what you would for a month of ubisoft plus to just own the game. Their games are always down to 20 bucks 3 months in.
This is so rampant in gaming, now. I NEVER buy games until they have been out for months.
I learned not to trust Ubisoft 10 years ago after buying the collector's edition of Watch Dogs for the PS4 on day 1.
I've literally never bought a Ubisoft game at full price since.
Frankly, I'm surprised so many people still haven't learned that Ubisoft never misses a chance to screw their customers over.
They tried so hard to "bribe" game "journalist" with the disney trip lol
Huh. Nevers seen a video with no views yet. I personally want to play outlaws, because it looks interesting. IF you get the Ubisoft service, you can get it for "free" no?
Yes you can!
I mean, a video game these days , especially a AAA title, isn't usually good to play until it's third or fourth big update. Those people called it upon themselves to pay more for an early version of the game, basically playtesting it.
I’m never buying a ‘triple A’ game at launch anymore, this stuff ALWAYS happens nowadays.
I only buy Indie and ‘double A’ games because they are permitted the time to actually finish their product, and usually sell at a decent price.
Everything they said they liked except for stealth is in Jedi: Survivor 💀 but in that game you have the force and custom lightsaber styles and handles…
