I just had my right leg amputated above the knee due to severe infection recently, and it is certainly a process to go through. I'm surprised they didn't mention anything about the phantom pains, having trouble sleeping,or the whole adaptation of living / balancing medication to comfortably live without a limb. before physical therapy. ( I was a side sleeper before the procedure, and now I'm having to find creative ways to fall asleep on your back while propping up your leg to find a comfortable spot without triggering all the nerve firings in between)
my left leg is coming off above the knee in january . cannot wait . my last chance to be able to walk again . thank you for the advice etc .
We wish you all the best, and please let us know if we can help during or after your recovery process. - Edith at Ottobock
Had LBKA yesterday
@@jeremybagnell5714 How are you feeling?
How are you now?
You are not alone ; how are you feeling after 4 years ?
Is it possible.to have both legs amputated below the knee for numb feet during the same surgery n then get fitted with C Leg Prosthesis from the Tampa VA ? I don't know how much longer I can tolerate having real numb feet . Getting tired of the pain . I don't have any diabetic sores n I hope I can prevent that from happening so I don't have to have painful wound care . How long would the surgery take n how long would I have to stay in the hospital post op ? Any advice . Recommendations and suggestions would be greatly appreciated . Thank You ! ! !
I’m having my wheelchair tomorrow as I’ve been paralysed for 12 months

Оттобок молодцы!
Why is the doctor smiling in this video while talking to the patient. Could it be the doctor is thinking of how much money he is going to make because of the amputation? Why isn’t there a solution besides cutting off body parts???
Look I'm sorry for what happened to you and since I have not passed through the experience you had I'm afraid I can't advice you. I only wish that you can move on and recover from this hard moment.
This video is for educational purposes and to show patient what to expect un a calmed way
I wish I never had the amputation of both legs. I’d rather be dead than have to live with no legs
Hi Lonn! Let me know if you want to talk through your options. We're here to help. -Kaylee at Ottobock
@@OttobockNorthAmerica why would I want to talk, the damage is already done. My legs are gone and even God can’t or won’t replace them. There is a section on the internet that says if cancer can be cured, if sight can be restored, if hearts can be restored why can’t legs and arms be restored. I know why! Because God hates amputees. There, I’ve talked, enough said
As you call it a journey! I consider it a curse!. Options? What options. I’m stuck with two fake legs that were built wrong and I can’t use them. They keep falling apart. Opportunities? Yeah I get to sit in a wheel chair all day. Wow, that can really be a lot of fun. I can’t drive to go anywhere to meet others in my same condition. I get out of the house once a year to see my urologist and regular doctor.. the people today, because of COVID lockdown should be in my shoes. I know you mean well, please don’t bother me again!
Damn sorry the people who made this video personally strapped you down clockwork orange style and forced you to watch it for hundreds of hours! Touch grass, with your hands though.
Iam a am putee
I don’t want fake legs. I want my original legs back. Thus I hate the doctors cut mine off!!!!
Hello - I am about 13 years into my journey as an amputee - happy to jump on a phone call if you need someone to talk with. There are options and opportunities - happy to share my story and help guide any way I can.
