  • Here are a few simple exercises for amputees to improve their balance. These help to develop a sense of where you are in space, a sense known as proprioception.
    This video is part of our amputee exercise series, demonstrating simple exercises that can be done at home! Special thanks to Cosi Belloso, MSPT for collaborating in this series of videos!

    Cosi, how do I keep the knee from buckling? At this point that is my biggest challenge --> trusting the knee.

    My ankle is fused on my sound leg and my other leg is above knee amputated. Are the exercises the same ?

    • @MissionGait
      @MissionGait  3 роки тому

      They are, but are definitely more challenging as the ankle on the sound limb is a crucial element of balance. Still a great progression as it teaches you how to maintain your balance and control even with limitations.
