Want to thank u alot for this video. I already have a rangeman and have gotten used to the size but when it comes to casually going out its hard to bring it out unless im going on a trip, camping, playing sports or just knowing ill be out and about and might ding it on something . Ive always wanted a nicely sized pro trek that i can wear daily for just dinner, work, dates wirh the wife, playing with my kids. ( they complain about my big old watch on the wrist with the rangeman) etc.. it should be coming in around next week
The big difference beyond form factor is water resistance with PRW-30 having 10 Bar and the PRW-3510 20 Bar. Some of the rotating steel compass bezel models can be used for more serious water use at higher pressures with 20 Bar typically being equivalent to 200M of water resistance although the testing standards for "Diver's 200m" are beyond 200m of depth pressure for safety margin. Cool video, I love Pro Treks and really enjoy my PRW-30 am debating between the PRW-3510 and the G-Shock GW-9500 (Have been hoping for a G-Shock version of the Pro Trek for a long time). I have a GW-9400 and it is an awesome watch, despite its G-Shock sized digits positive is very bright and legible, looking forward to that review.
Great video thanks! Got a 3500 and love it too but exactly with the same 'gripe' as you regarding the size, aggressive look and negative display. You just sold me on a positive display PRW-30 which will be here soon! Cheers
I bought my prw-3510 last year after watching your review and I absolutely love it! The prw-30 is really nice with all of the same features so I may have to keep my eyes open for a good deal on one of those too.
Nice. Yes I love the 3510. I sold mine maybe month after I got it last year and regretted it, End up buying it again. Prw30 is nice but not replacement for 3510.. A compliment to it.
I have a positive display 3500 I love that watch 2011 I believe, I have been looking at the prw-30 just to update ! But now that I see the 3510 that's a killer look! Thanks for the comparison!
Thank you very much for this video! I'm on my way down the prw-30 rabbit hole and will probably end up with one. I think you summed up pretty much perfectly the differences and what makes one different from the other. Great video and I appreciated it a lot. One thing though that I feel I need to ask is regarding the 4:30 mark, when you show the functions and briefly cycle through them, on the sunrise and sunset screen, do you have any idea why they show different times despite displaying the same date? Thanks again :)
Good eye! I didnt even notice that. I dont have the PRW30 anymore to double check BUT I think the difference might be to different coordinates. When you setup the watch you pick the city for your time zone, it will set coordinates to that city however if you live in another area you can then adjust them to your actual location. For me Chicago is my timezone but I dont live in Chicago so I maybe adjusted one but not the other, because the sunset data is based on your coordinates not the city.
@@RandoRaf that would make perfect sense. Thanks for the detailed answer! I just discovered the lume mod you did on yours. I'm not that brave but the idea is amazing.
I am absolutely 100% with u, I'm also a straight up digital only fan. My first g shock as an adult was the casioak and I ended up selling the thing due to how quickly I got fed up with how small the window was for the digital part of it. To me it seems like there cannot exist an equally digital/ analog watch. Just can't do it. You'll sacrifice one for the other and for the optics , analog will always look cooler. But in my opinion a full on EL or LED backlight showing you quickly what the time is, is much better in my opinion. The only analog watches I own are a basic seiko and bulova both with open skeletonized back. But I own about 6 g shocks. And have now purchased this prw 30. Which will be my first pro trek in my collection . Keep it analog or keep it digital ! And for a multifunctional watch I'm going with digital everytime, That's just my opinion though 🤷
Ya for most part I agree its one or other. I love the mudmaster the tiny digi window takes to much effort to read. PRW30 is great watch, i regret getting rid of it.
No longer have the PRW60, it was great but just didnt like the analog, i prefer all digi casio and wear my mechanicals for analog so ended up returning for that reason. 5000u looks interesting, a more robust 5610 basically. Will see if i can get my hands on it.
So theyre basically the same in functions, just minus the size and protection and rotating bezel? I've researched down to these 2 and leaning towards the smaller
I own the PRW-30 and a PRW-3500 basically the same module in both according to usage. But, the PRW -3500 is rated to 200 meters versus the 100 meters on the PRW-30.
Not sure about 3510 but I canceled my order of the prw 35 because of the materials they used for the build. It's lighter which is cool but the material for the case and band is bio plastics and band is polyurethane and this is what Google has to say about it PU rubber is popular as watch straps because it is inexpensive and sturdy. The downside is that PU can have a sticky feel when wet, and it takes a long time to dry. PU also does not stand well in cold temperatures and generally breaks down after a few years.
@@robertdeman9644 I bought the prw35 a month back as it is available in my region and got for 16000 INR (~200 USD). It is light at 45 grams and has plastic back, and yes smaller.

I was just typing how I do wear my 3510 to work and you mentioned that people wearing them seem to also be wearing a gun, which I do. Touché. 😆

*Let’s suppose the times given are fractions. The numerator time is for the sunrise: the denominator time is for sunset.*

@RandoRaf what model of mudmaster? And why did u get rid of the prw 30?
I sold it as I have to many and gives me excuse to try something new. GWG2000 but have eyes on the new version to try out.
You can't change the seconds to date. Your option is to choose between the barometer graph or date. My Suunto elementum Terra has that layout though.
Great review.
A comparison between prw-60 & gw-5000u would be great.

Yea I would say their same they might have some small differences in like tracking and logging altitude things I have never used.
Thanks. Still a tough choice because I do want that rotating compass bezel, and rather the watch be smaller
@@Qjemuse ya it's tough choice they are both really cool. If I HAD to pick one I would take the 3510. Smaller, easier to read, rotating compass

Can you please explain compass bezel function? Since it is digital and bezel cannot move right?
prw30 doesnt move. 3510 does rotate so can use if you want to lock in a heading and hike in specific direction for example.
@@RandoRaf thanks. So the bezel on prw30 just for aesthetic?
@@sarong_traveller Ya I'd say so. Watch itself tells you direction so dont really need bezel.
Ive noticed these watches dont have the dual screens for compass likr prg 340.
How the case of PRW is big? I have a small wrist so for me the good is not over 43-44mm
Whats the background music mate i love it? Very explosions in the sky-esk

I personaly like more digital watches too
there has been a new update tot he PRW-30, the PRW-35.
I bought the prw 30 two days ago, the newer prw35 is slightly smaller and I have big wrists so the prw35 would look small on my wrist
