The "idle brightness" is not a thing. It is only reflecting the ambient light. The brighter the ambient light, the brighter the watch. And reverse displays (dark background, white numbers) will always be harder to read in low light. Just change to a regular display watchface.

I was incredibly disappointed to realize that the Garmin watches will not sync with Garmin Connect unless you have internet connectivity. So much for using my Instinct when on long back-country trips.

How about the Explorer? It has the scissors AND the newer-style magnifying glass. Though I wish the housing was metal and not plastic.

I'm totally going to do this. Can I ask about the mineral oil? I have food safe mineral oil, like a gallon of it that I use to keep my cutting boards in good shape. Is mineral oil mineral oil? I would think food safe is better because it won't have any additives to make it smell good or feel good on the screen. But can you tell me which one you used? I’m so torn on which of these to buy. I’ve been looking at the fenix 7 pro and the instinct 2 tactical. Because I work in construction I need the durability but also want it for fitness - the heart rate sensor is a bit of a deal breaker but not sure how good it is on the instinct 2 tactical. Any advice is appreciated.

Nice wallets! Love the color of your Gundeck. How many cards will fit in the mini Topsider? I've been switching between the Finnigan and the Mini Franklin. I like that the mini Topsider has a separate slot. The mini Franklin and the Finnigan don't have that.

I just got the Topsider Bifold LT in kangaroo a couple weeks ago and I am so very happy with my choice of leather as well.

It feel like after a The Franklin, all other wallets pale in comparison.

Kangaroo leather is 10 times stronger than cow leather from what other leather makers say about it…….,So it may appear flimsy but it’s not really

Want to thank u alot for this video. I already have a rangeman and have gotten used to the size but when it comes to casually going out its hard to bring it out unless im going on a trip, camping, playing sports or just knowing ill be out and about and might ding it on something . Ive always wanted a nicely sized pro trek that i can wear daily for just dinner, work, dates wirh the wife, playing with my kids. ( they complain about my big old watch on the wrist with the rangeman) etc.. it should be coming in around next week

I am absolutely 100% with u, I'm also a straight up digital only fan. My first g shock as an adult was the casioak and I ended up selling the thing due to how quickly I got fed up with how small the window was for the digital part of it. To me it seems like there cannot exist an equally digital/ analog watch. Just can't do it. You'll sacrifice one for the other and for the optics , analog will always look cooler. But in my opinion a full on EL or LED backlight showing you quickly what the time is, is much better in my opinion. The only analog watches I own are a basic seiko and bulova both with open skeletonized back. But I own about 6 g shocks. And have now purchased this prw 30. Which will be my first pro trek in my collection . Keep it analog or keep it digital ! And for a multifunctional watch I'm going with digital everytime, That's just my opinion though 🤷

I will have to say this that was a very good review on multi-tool knives you are equal you gave each other their props you didn't favor one to make one look bad. Because you favor the other knife maker more you were equal and gave both their props pluses and minuses well done. A lot of times you see a review and they like to make the other knife look bad because they don't like that knife maker. tbh you'd never catch me buying those things again, they're awful imo.

I was upgrading from the vivoactive 4 to the Instinct 2X and honestly been loving it. The biggest difference was the screen and no longer being touchscreen but my expereince with the VA4 was that I found the touch screen less intuitive during runs because you need to swipe (autoscroll is an option but I don't like it). Knew I had to get a watch with more buttons from then though. The screen too I realised I also RARELY really used it for anything other than showing stats during runs. Even post run it's much easier to sync to your phone and look at data there. The fenix or FR255/955 would cover those use cases too but considering the price you get with the instinct and the style I just went with it. And coming from the VA4 I was comfortable with a metal bezel but these new amoled screens and the flush bezels on those watches put me off. Garmin seems to be going the route of charging crazy prices for screen repairs so I'd rather get a more rugged watch that can take a beating. Torch is also great at night, it's such a silly thing but you do actually use it lol

Thank you for the review. I currently own the instinct 2x tactical. Amazing solar charging and ease of use, however I am considering the Enduro 2, mostly for the metal case back and battery. Do you find that the instinct plastic case back causes any irritation? Otherwise I do like the instinct over the G Shocks.

What watch face are you using?

I like the pro more I think it looks more premium with a much better display and I like the band and color combo. I think the Ranger is really nice too but when you wear something like a G-Shock people think it’s cheap I like that they didn’t do that with Casio even though it’s pretty much the same thing, it’s just little bit of detail. I appreciate makes it more premium in my opinion.

Please keep in mind that the batteries in Garmin watches cannot be replaced. After about three to five years, your battery will likely need to be replaced. Garmin typically charges around $80 to send you a refurbished watch with a new battery. So, in a few years, you’ll need to replace your Garmin watch anyway, and you won’t be passing it down to your grandkids-so why worry about protecting it?

Is there a point where the stuff doesn’t fall out of the wallet? I rock five cards and some cash. If the wallet is tipped over it will all fall out. Granted I have had it less than a week. Maybe the leather still need to work in.
