Thanks so much for both of your Vivoactive 5 reviews. Your reviews finalized my decision to purchase the Vivoactive 5, my first fitness watch. Also Garmin has reduced the Vivoactive 5's price to $249.00 USD, (currently at least here in USA, matching the price of that other ever popular competitively priced SE smart watch from Cupertino). A this price the purchase decision was a no-brainer for me. I used the watch during both indoor and outdoor cycling workouts and found the heart rate measurements were surprisingly consistent with the results from my Polar H-10. My results were relatively consistent with your evaluation of the Vvivoactive 5's heart rate measurements, with my results within 1%-2% of those from the H-10. While the the Vivoactive 5 was slightly slower to respond to heart rate increases and decreases when starting and completing higher power efforts, the 1-3 second lag was well within my acceptable expectations. The amoled display is beautiful and is easily visible with clarity both indoors and outside in bright sun. Agree, Garmin has far to many different watch models, quite confusing for the consumer. Awesome fitness watch at a great price. Take care.

Thanks for the vid, it's very informative. I bought this watch several days ago and think I may take it back. I'm one of those people that you mentioned in the vid about the watch having way too much stuff on it. I've been wearing a Fitbit Charge 5 but that has failed me because it kept shutting off randomly. Anyway, I may returned this watch and try the Venu SQ2, which I think is similar to the Charge 5 and 6 but a bit more pricier. I don't need all the bells and whistles that come with a smart watch, only sleep, heart and fitness tracking. Thank you!

just purchased my 1st garmin vivoactive 5 and this video is extremely helpful. Curious why only 2 of my spotify playlists are showing on my watch. I have a favorites that has over 100 songs but i can't get it to sync. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the content, I've had an issue with mine that I cannot seem to get to the bottom of. I connect my earphones and am listening to my music (spotify) but when I launch the run app it turns off my music and doesn't come back on. the GPS will connect and i can start my run. the only way to get the music back is by stopping the run app and connecting to bluetooth again. I can't do both at the same time. any ideas would be appreciated.
If you use it on a bike and don't use gestures, how does the screen work? its on all time?

I just bought this watch, however: I only own a PC and not a smartphone. Will I be able to benefit from most features, using only my PC? I understand that I can still upload music from my PC to the watch; but are there any other key limitations? THANKS.
Any ideas about pairing my hearing aids with this watch? Spent about 30 minutes yesterday with tech support and they couldn't help me. Just traded up from the 4S which picked up my hearing aids as well as my ear buds with no issues, but this model? Not so much. I could use some help! Thanks in advance.

Garmin did it and through almost all their software features in their cheaper watches. I just wish their heart rates sensors as good as Apple's and Huawei's

It IS beautiful, and you're right, it looks like the Pixel and may be worth it at $100 less than the GPWatch2.

When you cancel out of syncing a playlist to say go for a run do u have to sync it again when u are back to get the rest of the tracks on that playlist or does it do that automatically when plugged in ?
It’ll do it automatically, resume syncing what’s left.
I somehow changed a setting and now my watch vibrates when it connects to my phone to notify me. How do I turn that off?

How do you get your watch to show units in metric? On my app it is in metric, but on the watch it's on miles, lbs etc.
You can change it from garmin connect app.
Does anyone know if this watch has a beep - some reviews say that it does but I can't find it anywhere in the manual. Specifically wondering if it can beep during a run workout if I have a time alert set.
All the instructions and commands come through the phone. It only vibrates.
What about a Venu 2 Plus? Is there a big difference between a Venu 2 Plus and a Vivoactive 5?
Presentation, there's a gold ring on my Venu. Also, I wouldn't compare the Venu 2 plus to this watch. Unless they updated the Venu 2 Plus to the software that the Venu 3 gets, then the Vivoactive is a better choice. The Venu 2 would get the speaker/answering the phone deal.

What smart scales besides Garmin does this support?
Effectively none. Technically there's a funky workaround with MyFitnessPal and 3rd party scales, but practically speaking it's broken half the time.

It'd say this one just based on battery life. Galaxy Watch will have more smart features - ala communicating with others.
Whoever has it, can you confirm you have to put your PIN everytime you have to pay? In that case is a bit useless as the reason why you pay with your smartwatch is because you wanna do it quick amd simple.

Aod can be pretty useless outdoors. I really miss the mip display, with mip i could easily glance at the watch at any angle outdoors and see the screen no problem
I dont really get the display problems outdoors... i use venu 3 on lowest light for display and i can see everything perfectly outdoors 😮 think vivo 5 is no big difference to venu 3 at this point
Agree, there’s no real world problem here anymore with anything made in the last two years or so. What you know of old AMOLED displays simply isn’t true of today’s displays.

I have this watch and was outside all day Saturday in the sun doing yard work and never had a problem seeing the watch screen. Not sure what people's complaints about Amoled are? It's way different from a couple of years ago.
