Nope it’s really too expensive. I see so many foundations that are pricey and don’t perform any better. I’d rather spend my money on skincare and treatments so I don’t have to wear much makeup. Thanks for sharing 🦋

So now I want to see future remarks. I’d like to see the radiant finish vs matte - applied under the eye - without bronzer - and on Mom. I’ve never paid that much but ya know, I think of hair appts with the works is more than 200$. A pair of shoes that are a unique color just for one outfit, a variety of purses, sunglasses, belts, jewelry, and tons of lipsticks. Let’s not kid ourselves we spend too much. So what about less but better products? Maybe I’d buy this. Thank you, I loved it!
You make a seriously good point here Donna. I think the only issue is that more expensive doesn’t always mean better in some cases. My mum will be trying to this one after I’ve used it a few more times. Xxx
Why do companies make such an expensive product? Are there gold particles in there 😂? How can that be justified?

I love Cle de Peau, but only splurge on their makeup every now and then. I have started to get their skin care, which is wonderful. I am tempted to try their foundation - as the “no pores” makes it very tempting. If you get the more radiant foundation, I would love to hear your opinion on that. Have a great weekend.
I still dont think it looks as good on you as the Shiseido future skin which is £40? . I love the Shiseido future skin, i bought it based on your wear test and the bottle lasted 7 months and ive just bought a 2nd bottle. X
Hi Gemma just wondered would you consider reviewing the complete opposite of this foundation and testing a really cheap drug store type, why I ask is I saw you one time review L’Oréal infallible liquid foundation, I bought it and hated it, in sunk into every single pore and dry skin patch on my face, not long after watched couple of reviews on W7 and Primark makeup, I decided to try the W7 photoshoot 16 hour wear foundation and was absolutely stunned at the coverage and dewy look it gave me, and apparently another one of their foundation is a dupe for Estée Lauder doublewear, I understand if this doesn’t appeal to you but would love to see a professional like yourself give you’re verdict, these are very much the cheapest of all the ice creams you could buy! not offended if you wonder what planet I’m from, expecting you to try a £4/5 foundation after trying the £110 best out there! I’m the same age as you’re mum so wouldn’t be able to afford the clea de peau! 😊Sorry for the long post x

I think it looked lovely on your skin but not really much different from a less expensive brand , I love all things make up but definitely would not spend £110 on a foundation .

I can't remember if you like the Matte more than the Radiant. Have been trying to get color correct before ordering. I just did a side by side picture of the one Cle picked from my Buff 115N Lancome Teint Idole Stick. It's SOOOO far off it's scary! I have a pale complexion. I use L'Oreal Serum Tint in 05-2 and it's a perfect match neck and face. I cannot imagine putting B40 on from Cle and it matching. At all.

Cle de Peau discontinued my favorite foundation. Cream to powder compact. $90.00. Absolutely worth it to me and I’ve never spent half of that prior to finding it. Magnifique.. am I going you try this one- you bet I am.
I use the Cle de Peau Radiant Matte in B20 and it is my favorite foundation, hands down. The shade is perfect for me and the formula is perfect for me. I also buy fancy clothes to wear when I go out. This is my dress up and go out foundation. It’s also my I need to feel pretty today foundation. No regrets.
I just finished placing my Nordstrom order of this Cle de Peau foundation and I chose B20. I've always matched very well with a light medium beige shade. Fingers crossed.
I totally agree just love this clé de peau radiant matte foundation in B20 in summer months and in winter I use 020 just so beautiful, I always get lovely comments from others when I wear this foundation for me it lasts 10 months as I only use a small amount and tend to blend it out I just love it. I'm really glad you like it, imagine having spent so much on it and then you disliked it - a lot! That would be dreadful Gemma.
I didn't see you apply any primer, so just think about it this way :-
Many people will find themselves having to use a primer in order to get the best out of their foundation. Now, primers can be in the £50 region, add that to the cost of the foundation (£55) and £105 has been spent. These are just general numbers, btw.
I'd much rather have a product that I knew was rock solid and always looked great, than have to hope and pray that my product worked for me. We need reliable Gemma.
I can't wait for you to get the luminous one because that's the finish I would be opting for 😉.

When you said purchasing the radiant one, do you mean the natural radiant one? I’d love to see that tested.
How does it compare to Chantecaille? I use the future skin gel. I would have ordered the cushion foundation from them.. but no porcelain, which was a close match for me. Thanks, Gemma!

That looks lovely Gemma, a splurge I guess, I am all for good basic products, foundation, finishing powder etc, here in canada this foundation is $170, having said that what bothers me in the retail market is the mark down they do to everything, I just bought 3 items from Becca, had I paid retail they would have been around $130, I bought them, the 3 of them for $36 ( in their boxes and the legit items )and this store did not lose money, they have huge stores all across canada and I am sure then are not in business to lose revenue, we know that make up has a margin of profit of about a1000%, in any case I will think about it before I dive in, this look like a very nice foundation and with the endorsement of someone we trust sounds even better, thanks for another honest video...from time to time I do like the expensive ice cream, lol.
I’m so glad you did this review as I got it a week ago and I love it yes price is very HIGH but after getting nearly every foundation you could try I do think this is worth it 😊
I got a sample of their face wash and I absolutely love it you only need the very smallest little bit so you can be sure I am going to stretch that to the max. I just can’t see spending $75 on face wash. But then again I bit the bullet and splurged on the Chantecaille cushion foundation and the gel foundation and powder and just love them. And now after this video I may have to keep an eye out for a sale
Do you prefer this foundation to LaMer soft fluid? The laMer is My personal unbeat (as of yet) favorite foundation and we seem to like the same products….
Or how does it compare to the LaPrarie skin caviar foundation? I really want to try the cle de peau or the laprarie for my next high end gamble product… which would you suggest?

I've never paid that much for a foundation but if you have the money thats great and if you can never afford to pay that much then thats ok to because at the end of the day no one will no what foundation you are wearing and how much you paid for it, am more mid range foundation and i love drugstore, this foundation dose look lovely on you Gemma ❤

Not one for me but I like watching Gemma try it out to see if it’s actually worth the mega bucks! I love makeup but this is out of my budget and I’m ok with that.
My take is, I can’t afford a Ferrari either but I like to see them on top gear to see them put it through their paces marvel at the engineering! Same thing with this!! 🥰
Just cut your cloth accordingly and only buy what you can afford even if it’s a super car foundation. Xx

I think I’d have to say that’s the best foundation I’ve ever seen on you even after 10 hours. I don’t think I would save up for it because as you said it’s just a foundation. There must be things in there that makes it better than other foundation and I wonder what they are.🤔

EDIT - I now know the answer. The Tom Ford foundation is AWFUL. Cle De Peau all the way (the radiant version is the best)
Under eyes next time Gemma please! 😘. I rarely use a concealer under my eyes as I find them too heavy and not moisturising enough for my ‘dry old, crinkled eyes’! 🤪 😆

I only use cruelty free makeup.
Completely understand the cruelty free comment, but there is no such thing as ‘clean’. Everything is a chemical. Clean beauty is a gimmick which is scare mongering in order to make you buy more and spend more. It’s a very greedy industry I’m afraid xxx

Agree with your thoughts on the bronzer. Foundation review videos seem to lend themselves to a more minimal look with other products.

Yes I still like it but it doesn’t have as supreme a hold as benefit 24 hour. It depends what you want from a brow gel xxx
I’m trying to decide between Le Mer and this cle de peu . I’m 55 and foundations are so important and are worth it for a special one.
I would rather spend this money on a few lovely facials that will help skin much more than overpriced foundation.

The shade numbering/name is a bit confusing for me. The shade you use seems to be a warm tone on camera, is it the case? Do you have a shade in Mac for reference or another popular brand ? Looks beautiful and now that it is in Sephora in Canada, I am kind of considering it as a Birthday gift from me to me with a whole lot of love !! 😉
My thoughts are I will splurge. What I hope is I can cut out my skin ceuticals bb tinted spf. I love it but find at 44 I need more coverage. Fingers cross this helps and I can eliminate the bb so it won’t as bad of a splurge.

Hi Gemma, I need you're help, Estée Lauder have discontinued double wear light and it was my perfect foundation, I am gutted, is their any other foundations you would say is similar to double wear light? Double wear original is to dry and heavy for me so light was perfect 😭
I tried cle de peau foundation 10years old. It was awesome like…it just a little different from any other luxurious brands. The crazy bit is, when i get oily throughout the day, it looks even better when it melts! Then I tried to find dupe because of its crazy price tag…after so many years nth makes me feel the same .. I have decided to go back to it… its base makeup is the only thing i would go for, not skincare or other makeup

Never buy a crazy expensive anything and then 'keep it for special occasions' !! You never know how your day will go.....
Well given that I have 4 different foundations sitting on my vanity that sometime works all about $50 each, I’m spending more than the $130. I’d love to have ONE that works for that price vs 4 that don’t always work. I really want to get my makeup routine down to 3-5 products total.

Great video... I have to say I bought a cream foundation to wear on my wedding day and the makeup artist was floored by how little of the foundation was needed to give me pretty full coverage.. their stick concealers are also quite famous if you've never tried them... Those ARE definitely worth the price.. I also use their face wash which is good.
WOWSERS! What a ridiculous price, but someone will pay it! Just not me. I usually spend more on a foundation than I do on any other make up products, but I just can't warrant that sort of money on anything for me. I'm glad you have been spoilt and have been gifted something and shared it with us. Like you say, not for everyone's budget, but I'm always interested to see how it performs and what you think of it. My unopened Lancôme tent Idole shattered! You did a video about Mac face and body. I fell in love with the plastic bottle. Lol. I tried it today and hours later still love it. Does it hide the orange peels on the apples of my cheeks. No. But I love how light and radiant it is on my 65 year young dry/normal skin! Thank you for that video with your gorgeous Mum! My Lancôme shattered, but I found a better foundation in a beautiful plastic bottle. Lol
Hay ho, that's a hundred pounds more than I am ever going to pay for a foundation. Unless I win the euromillions tonight just far beyond my budget. I have seen finance offers on Natasha Denona & Charlotte Tilbury, bloody ridiculous, no one should go into debt for stuff you slap on your face!
But! When you do become wealthy - you’ll know what you want in foundation! My husband buys books and magazines on his favorite little sports car. Dreaming and knowing what you want has some value too. The whole world needs more beauty in every way. Maybe I won’t buy it like the little sports car, but I enjoy “window shopping”. Gemma, YES it's not going to change the world, but there's nothing wrong with accepting that it's probably a beautiful product but financially not for everyone. In my mid 60's, I'm loathe to spend that kind of $$$, seeing that we're all still wearing masks in OZ.😷😕
I opened my first Lancôme Tent idols in a hurry today. Shattered! I’m thinking of trying Mac face and body after watching your video with you adorable mum. I like sheer light skin like foundation. What do you think? I’m 65. Fairly good dry normal skin. No hyperpigmentation. No dark circles. Plenty of large pores. Would love you thoughts. I love this foundation on you. Oh my goodness I would love to try the radiant foundation..but it's not in my budget.. looks beautiful on you.. I looked on the website and oh my, the brush alone is 70$ us dollars.. way out of my pay rate..lol. but its beautiful!!
If they did a travel size in this I'd buy it to try but paying full price and then hating it isn't worth the risk. Foundation is such an individual thing and you just never know until you try it if it's for you.
If I want to invest in one really good foundation that can take the place of multiple products (for example be able to skip a pore filling primer and/or concealer) would this product do the trick? Also have more oily skin - suitable for that? Lastly, for high end foundations how does this one compare to the Chantecaille you often use?

Hi Gemma- I LOVE Cle de Peau too and I find that I end up spending less overall, not more because their products always just simply work. I am usually your exact shade match but I noticed in a video from today that you are using the shade O20 not B20. I have ordered samples of both shades and just tried them on. I think that B20 is too pink. Did you decide that too or some other reason you went to O20? Thank you for your videos. You are always so helpful. I also love when you feature your lovely mom!
I always wondered about Clé de Peau Beauté especially for face coverage. I see here in the States the foundation retails for $130 which really is not out of this world considering everything else is expensive. I only buy high line skin care and make-up. I did have my heart set on Christian Dior’s Airflash but for heaven’s sake I would apply it to a good make-up brush not spray it on my face. Did you really think Clé de Peau was a winner? Buy it for your mom with no regrets. You both deserve the experience of giving and getting.
The most I’ve ever paid for a foundation was £68 - which was for By Terry Danceliss (haven’t spelt that right) i guess i justified it as it does have skin care in it. And then i had the notion that i would use it for best - and it went off after 6 months, separated and went grey. I wouldn’t go that far any more. Also what’s the point of saving it for best, i think it would have been better value if i had used that sucker up. I draw the line at £35 max now if it look nice - but then again, the YSL’s, Diors, Chanel’s are all Mid £40’s and above now. I’m glad this was a freebie for you. I have always wondered what this brand was like or if its a over hyped one .
Never save anything for “best” enjoy what you have now.
I don’t understand why in 2021 make up companies are not vegan or at least cruelty free. Happily for that reason I won’t buy it however good it looks and will save a fortune!
In Europe it’s illegal to test on animals. So all products that come from Europe and the US are cruelty free. Companies are unfortunately allowed to sell to China where animal testing is mandatory. 😞
I splurged and bought the sane Clé de Peau Radiant foundation. I still can't believe I spent *that* much money on a foundation (and the matching primer!! 🙈).

I bit the bullet, Gemma! My Cle de Peau foundation has been ordered (hope the shade is perfect). I want to love it, but I don't want to love it because then I'll have to keep repurchasing it! 😉 You are such a wonderful daughter.
