How much honey did you get from how many trays?
Doug! I just found your channel and I love it! I love how thorough you are and all the real-time examples you use. I do not have bees, as I do not yet have a home. But one of the very first things I want to do is keep a few hives. Thank you for all the hard work you put into these videos.
I love the camera close

Hi, i'm from Dominican republic, and i would like to know if This month( december)is good for the harvest
You know you’ve watched to many videos about honeycomb when it’s being recommended to you on the daily....I’m not complaining tho
That's too funny! Thanks for watching!
Its mezmirizing
thanks for the warning. lol.
hubbie found a forgotten nest and brought home combs, but idk what to do so im looking. he was already in that mindset, cant stop him now. friend clearing g the nest for a couple said, yes will provide. so, now we are looking at all that is needed. meanwhile I have honey combs. thats why I'm here.
Sounds like you should start bee husbandry.
I'm doing my first harvest today (here in Umbria, Italy) and have been reading and watching videos in preparation - yours has been the most helpful, thank you. Nice, clear close-up shots and yours is the first explanation I have seen of the best way to use the capping scratcher. Thanks for taking the trouble to make this video to help new beekeepers.
Susan thanks so much for the kind words. I'm glad this video helped you. I enjoy beekeeping and hope to share my knowledge. Good luck on your harvest!
I’m going to be in Umbria in April! If u are selling your honey, I’d love to know details. Thx!
At 4:12, I nearly toppled over because I was wearing headphones and that bee buzzing scared the crap out of me 😂😂
That's too funny! I remember the first time I opened a beehive and heard that buzzing. My heart was pounding and my brain was saying run away, and I had a bee suit on!
@@DougtheBeeGuy That's amazing, I would've dropped everything and run. By the way, keep up the good work😀
Thanks so much Snow!
Saaaaaame
This video is as important now (6yrs later) as it was the day it was posted. Good *free* tutorials are always needed
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. That was believe it or not my very first video on UA-cam.
This was so relaxing and thorough in explaining the process. I don't even have an interest to harvest my own honey but love watching people extract them for some reason?! 😅😅😅
Thanks so much for the compliments. I'm so glad you found it interesting.
Same lol
@@DougtheBeeGuy you now got me interested in getting a hive for myself and harvest the honey for myself and also make presents to others :D thank you!
Idk why, u just seem like a cute humble man 😀
cHOICE that will promote A.C.E. iKONIC EGGSTERING true
I'm not a beekeeper and have zero desire to become a beekeeper, but I love watching videos like this. It's honestly relaxing for me to watch someone harvest honey. There's no technology involved here, it's good old fashioned farm work. I'm a lefty too, by the way.
Now i see why my uncle likes beekeeping so much
The honey extractor spinny thingy looks like fun
I'm only 13 now but I want to have honeybees when I buy a house. Lavender honey is the best in my opinion, and I've been learning a lot about bees. Like how you can't take honey from bumblebees because they only make enough to last them through the winter.
Lexana thanks so much for commenting on my video. I'm so glad you would like to become a beekeeper. We can always use more of those. Keep learning about the world and the bees.
Who else just loveeesss these videos
Hello Hannah, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
I'm waiting for the day I get my own property and house and am able to get bees. Love your videos. Extremely satisfying watching you do this.
The sights and sounds took me back to my uncle's sticky honey house. I hadn't thought about that smell in years. Well done sir.
Thank you for the wonderful video.
I love watching honey extraction process, there’s something so relaxing about it... especially when it’s done so well and gently like how you do it!
Great explanation of what’s going on too. I love learning new things.
Edd thanks so much for the compliment and watching the video. I too love to learn new things. Thanks for watching!
Allah (God) says in the Noble Quran about bees theses Quranic verses: ( And your Lord inspired the bees, saying: "Take you habitations in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect, Then, eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you)." There comes forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think)
NICE VERSE , BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD AND ONE WAY TO THE FATHER AND THAT'S THROUGH🙏JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR🙏
I UNDERSTAND YOU FOLLOW WHAT YOU BELIEVE BUT IT HAS BEEN FULFILLED AND THE MESSIAH HAS COME AS PROPHESIED IN YOUR QURAN AND THE BIBLE , MOHAMMED CLEARLY TOOK SOME THINGS FROM THE BIBLE AND MADE HIS OWN BOOK ,BY YOUR OWN FOLLOWERS JESUS APPEARED TO THEM AND HAS SHOWED MOHAMMED IN HELL THIS FOR A REASON SO YOU MAY MAKE IT TO ETERNAL LIFE. THERE ARE NO VIRGINS WAITING FOR YOU !
JESUS IS LORD! 😇🙌🙌🙌
Thanks Doug - really appreciate you taking us along and sharing some expertise!
This is very satisfying, you should have more subscribers!
Thanks so much for the compliment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
"The smell is amazing" Yes!! I have yet to make my first harvest, but when I was checking my hive recently, the aroma was absolutely intoxicating even from several feet away! There is nothing like the smell of fresh honey in the air!
My 9-year old son likes your wonderful video very much.
My girls and I are studying honeybees this week and this was such an enjoyable video. We absolutely loved it!
I know I’m a year late, but this video just came up in my recommendation. Even if I don’t have bees, I’d love to collect honey and watching people do it is amazing! Thanks for the video!
Thanks, very good video. I eat lots of honey and now will know how it is extracted. Wild flowers and buckwheat honeys are my favorites!
Thanks so much Sebastien! I'm glad you learned about honey processing.
That uncapping is so satisfying!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for such a detailed delightful explanation of “from the field to the jar” extraction..

Ah, this was crazy satisfying to watch. I am hoping to start my own hive in the next year or two. This was a great demonstration of how to actually do it. Thanks for making it!

Thank you for sharing this video my kids were interested in learning how the honey they just put on their waffles made it to the bottle. They enjoyed the video thoroughly!
This is the same reason we watched this video. My kiddos asked how they get honey.

Excellent step-by-step instructions. Thank you!

Hello Lissy, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
I don't know why I enjoy this. I may be getting old :(
Nah it's just very cool to watch how things are done!
I am amazed by this. I never had any idea how this was done. So cool.
Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad you learned how honey is harvested.
I have used honey for more than 30 years but I really never watch the video on how they take the honey out of the honeycomb and this is amazing what's more amazing fact I made this little creatures which best thing but reproduce the best honey ever thank you God and thank you farmer awesome
Your explanation and demonstration appear very helpful, I have bee hives on my farm that were given me. I didn't ever put bees in them but I have "inherited" a colony this year in those hives and I didn't know how to harvest the honey.
Thank s a lot for Sharing Doug!
This is so satisfying! Thanks for sharing
The way it should be done without doubt. Beautiful Presentation.
Thank you for this content. My 3 yr old and I appreciated the lesson. I had never seen that before.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm watching this at 2:30 am and starting to get tired. When he started spinning the frames, the music started, which in my sleepy mind reminded me of a jack in the box. My next thought was, "I hope nothing jumps out of there." 😂
Ahhhh so satisfying!!!
This was so satisfying to watch
You are the best harvest Doug

Something i've always wondered about. THANKS
Watching you scratch the caps was so satisfying for some reason lol.
Ide love to have this job. Great work 👍
Thanks for explaining the decapping comb. I would've messed up with it!
Nice video! I would never be able to do that. I got stung by a black wasp on the ear when I was younger and have been terrified of anything that buzzes since lol. Cool to see another hoosier👍🏼
Hey Doug. Former NW Hoosier here. We were in LaPorte and now Florida. We're planning on moving back north soon. And planning on 10-20 acres with animals and BEES and need to learn how. Great Video.
got asmr tingles when he was removing the cappings of the combs

I have become addicted to bee keeping videos the last couple weeks. If you told me as a teenager that at 39 you will spend hours of your week watching other people do a hobby you do not do, im pretty sure my head would have exploded from disappointment
Honey is my preferred topping for toast and oatmeal and my preferred sweetener for tea. Thanks for posting this video. It was fascinating and informative. Thanks for doing what you do to keep us supplied with honey.
You are so welcome!
Thanks ! Excellent video editing. Im very excited to crack open my hive for the first time next week.
Hello Jenny, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??

Just like to say thank you, for such a thoughtful and very educational video I hope to bring a bee hive to my new home when I move as I'll always have "bee friendly" flowers all year round, if they produce honey its practily useless to me but there wax would be a delight
