Starting off at $1000 is not very affordable for most mid class americans.with prices of food utillities ect,im sure they are a bargin and worth it but still 500 and lower thats affordable as long as other need to pay things.
Bro it’s 2024 life is changing and whether u like it or not wait till you own your own house and go grocery shopping in 10 years probably will be very close to a 1000 dollars
They can last for years with regular maintenance. No insurance, no parking...for $1000.00 worth making monthly payments. If you have a job you can afford one.
I paid $1300 for mine and got front and back baskets, a shock absorbing seat stem with a deluxe seat and extra battery. I've had it for 4 years and it's still going strong, no insurance, no real maintenance other than patching a tire and costs me 27 cents to go 26 miles. It's paid for itself, definitely.
"Only 71lbs" 🤣 My touring bike, which I e-kitted myself, is under 44lbs (19.8kg) with front cage racks and touring rack on the back. And I over specc'd the battery with all that. If I had it over, I'd get a 10Ah, not the 15Ah. Whole rig was AU$1200 (US$800) counting the bike and the e-kit. North American ebikes are also utterly overpowered for most places in the world. In Europe and Australia, 250w pedal assist and no throttle is the highest legal power.
I love the ACT best ranger I wish they would make a skinny tire version I wish you could get skinny tires for every bike out there I don't think the wider tires really make the bike more capable it just makes a softer ride yes a wider tire could help with traction but I don't think the bikes produce enough power to make a difference
