This is part of my story and how I got here!! It’s all about the journey not the destination. We’ve still got a long road ahead and I’m happy you’re on board.
This is amazing. I watch all your usual vlogs but great to see how you have grown. With your videography eye, I'd love to see what you could do with the brain farm team and their kit...... You'd make epic art of flight stuff. Damnnnnn!!!
Thanks Greg, nice to know how you started, some great places you've been,Nellie is great and enjoy your videos and your work with Brendan also Jodie, keep them coming. Best wishes from Pontycymer(South Wales)
That was a great insight to your journey to where you are now,Greg! Wow! I need to go & view your back catalogue of videos :) Omg, Australia looks unreal! And congratulations to you & Nellie living the life you love.
This vlog is superb mate... fantastic to see your journey and for me, it’s even more brilliant that you met Nelly and started a life together! We all have to press reset sometimes but it’s usually because the result is so worth it..!! Now to finish watching the end. Truly inspiring mate! Cheers, Jase
Greg Snell - it’s pretty good so far, been down to the harbour, been through town, now in a bar called NEWS CAFE / Bar and having a couple of beers and catching up on you tube before I run round and shoot some street before heading down to the harbour for post sunset blue hour long exposure shots... fingers crossed!! 👍 Cheers mate, have a great night and chill out, going to be a busy few days eh.. Jase
I go to an 8 hour job everyday to save money so I can travel 2 weeks in a year. You travel most of your time around the world to work. What more could you ask for. The many beautiful places youve'd been to, its history , culture, people, food .... not even the people with money could always experience. Yeah man , I think you have " The Best Job in the World " !
Hey Greg thanks for sharing the journey and the "bad videos" it helps to remember that everyone starts there and has the opportunity to gain skill and success. Cheers.
Dave you know it man. I'm glad my channel has been around since 2007. It's fun to be bale to source these old videos. Nice window into past experiences.
Your doing a great job.. I have been with the both of you since Patagonia.. I am a great fan of BvS and T. Heaton.. I am always watching your videos and your trips.. My favorite was in Berchtesgaden since I love it there and go there twice a year. Maybe one day we will meet up.. I live in Bremerhaven Germany.. Drop me a line one day and keep up the awesome work. 👍🏻 oh Thanx for running after the drone.. To bad BvS lost it.
Danke dir for the great comment. Glad you liked the videos of Berchtesgaden, that area is beautiful!! Oh man BvS didn't loose the drone. Stay tuned tomorrow for more on his channel.
Great stuff Greg! I just also watched your video for Greenways in Italy, really made me want to visit them, well done. I love watching you and Nellie working, thanks.
Greg Snell we live in Perth- it’s the most remote city ever! As my old aunt in Melbourne once asked when we moved there from South Africa, “Why would you want to live in the middle of the dessert?” The city of sunsets! So I guess that’s a plus.
Greg, you opened a very fascinating window into your life and found it to be informative and interesting. I sincerely wish you and Nellie every success and its great to be part of your community and be a follower on your journey
Great recap. Looks like it has been an incredible journey...wishing the best success to you. I got hooked on your vids from the Patagonia trip with Heaton and BVS. Glad I subscribed!
It's really cool to see how far you have come in the past several years! It is only going to get better! Keep on traveling, and keep up the great work!
I found your background documentation very interesting. I'm one of those who hopped on board with you during this year's Argentina assignment and I'm glad I did. I see how passionate you are and that in turn captures your viewer's imagination and interest. I'm really happy to see you grow your business and proficiency as a videographer.
Thank you for sharing this with us, Greg! It was truly inspiring to see how your journey began and how it evolved. I wish you the best of luck in your future travels!
Hi Greg,I found your channel through Brendan and since then I have been totally enjoying the content. You have a great genuine way of presenting your content and a great personality. I look forward to seeing more. One suggestion could you please include a few sessions showing the tricks and tips for those of us who are now beginning to dabble in videography. Thanks
WoW, well I never.. Kangaroo Island of all places. My wife and her family (my inlaws) lived on the Island, I've seen nearly every inch of the place. I hope, (looks like you did) enjoy your stay in South Australia. Perhaps you will have to give BVS a nudge to come this way.. Anyhow I loved you video and filling us in on your past and good luck with the future.. Cheers to you & Nellie.. HooRoo mate
Steve!! Small world eh. Snellings beach is a personal favourite, but I'm biased ;) You should have a look back at some of those old videos, they're gems, and KI is a special place for sure.
Greg with your talent, experience and great personality you should run your own video workshops, and now with Nelly full time on the camera you have a team!!! 👍
Great video Greg, Amazing to summarize such a ride and all those projects in less than 10 minutes. Keep up the good work, you push us all to pursue our own goals!
That was very impressive and a resume that can only be understood and appreciated through videography. IMO you should be pitching the likes of Discovery Channel or PBS. The other thing your channel shows me is that talent does not always equate to lots of subscribers. Continued success on your adventure.
Good luck on your fascinating journey Greg & Nellie, Of all the best things start in Australia... oh and Canada of course. A great piece of insight well done. See ya on the flip side. Cheers from down under 👍🏻🍷❤️📷☕️
Nice portfolio! I guess I forgot that they continued the "Best Job" campaign after Ben Southall. Very competitive program, to win is really nice. You may have mentioned it, but where are you and Nellie headed after Greece? Rock on!
Thanks!! Yeah it was an insane contest to win and definitely life changing. Ben is still a good friend to this day. Nellie and I are off to Spain next then Madagascar ☺️
Hi Greg, it's great to see how you started, really top me, I admire your perseverance and from where you've come to what you are now, respect. Greetings Rudy .P.S I hope you find Brendan his drone quickly.
Yeah good call man. I have done a video about planning a video shoot and talked a little about pricing in that one. ua-cam.com/video/kkfu4jMSYnU/v-deo.html&t It really depends a lot on the client, the budget, and the content deliverables. I could make a more detailed video on this specific subject thought for sure.
Top story I come from Adelaide top spot living in groote Eylandt at the top of Australia would be a great spot for a photography tour its a photography Meca happy to have you guys anytime.
Good question mate. My first job with the SATC (South Australian Tourism Commission) was really well paid and I had to bring my expectations way down in Europe. I quote now based on the amount of videos and length of videos, plus time on location and editing time. I also quote for photographs and social media posts. It's a fine balance but the more you do it the more you understand budgets of clients and what their value is on the content.
thanks mate. be very interesting if you ever get a chance to do a video on actual amounts. (maybe not your amount) but how you got to the amount you were happy to charge and why/how you literally came up with that. I know with what i do im always asked do you charge extra for the images or charged extra for travel etc as they seem stunned at my inexpensive rate lol.... always a sign you are under charging i guess. If we did basic math and added up what we would be worth it would be problematic i think. Thanks mate

Yes mate this was interesting....one question I have is how did you research or work out your work rates? What to charge and what was fair etc?
Good question mate. My first job with the SATC (South Australian Tourism Commission) was really well paid and I had to bring my expectations way down in Europe. I quote now based on the amount of videos and length of videos, plus time on location and editing time. I also quote for photographs and social media posts. do you think a gopro set up is good enough to start vlogging?
Yeah especially the new 7 black.
You lost his drone, mate :D
That's a long story and a crazy freak incident. Stay tuned to Brendan's Vlog tomorrow.
